All of my life I’ve tried so hard
doing the best with what I had
Nothing much happened all the same.

Over the holidays I read lots of books, and surfed. One of the books I read was Past Mortem by Ben Elton. It is entertaining and light.

It’s about a short guy who has a range of insecurities and problems. But he’s very bright and actually cool, but doesn’t have this perspective of himself.

Plenty of women seem to go for him. His life is complicated by people he meets on line.

He’s also in the Scotland Yard’s homicide squad, and solves unsolvable murders.

You might like to note, particularly about the bit about him actually being bright and cool!
