The Daily Trash presents another installment in our haphazard series of tiny inconsequential movie reviews especially designed for the attention span challenged.

FLIGHT (2012)

Denzel Washington plays a drug and alcohol fuelled pilot who manages to successfully land an airplane that is about to crash even though he is drunk saving all the passengers (more or less) onboard. However people find out about his drinking and he goes to jail.* The End.

2 stars.

Thank you once again for the review. Yet another film that I now don’t have to watch.

is there a moral to that movie?
disappointing, not even one swarthy looking, middle eastern terrorist type.
just bad [but still good] denzel

“is there a moral to that movie?”

Don’t drink and attempt to fly a 747.

Don’t have all night sex, drink and take drugs and then drive a plane. Don’t get divorced. But if you do, make sure you are a great pilot, better than all the rest even when slightly impaired by those small flaws.

I think it is denzel’s prolific work ethic and his retirement/superannuation plan.

Based on AO’s ‘moral of the story’…I’m not likely to become a pilot.

Did you enjoy the movie Kitty?

It was just okay for me…

D’ya suppose a white, middle aged, pilot would have got away with it? KL 😉 ALERT ALERT!

How come Django Unchained gets the heave-ho by the racist police and this one doesn’t?

Only in Amerika … I supect that DU is probably a better film too …

The kids gave us Gold Class tickets (and$100 for booze food) but all the films being shown are for KIDS! FFS!

In the trailer they talked about it being a ‘miracle’, so this must be a link to the deity.

Did you enjoy the movie Kitty?

no, for all the reasons above reb. I spent the whole time looking at the lack of any on-screen sparks between denzel and his co-star the ?redemption figure of drug addict/overdosing white woman. They could barely even touch each other, the most was a kiss on the cheek I think. I kept wondering about the taboo nature of inter racial relationships and whether they hated each other!

And what the hell was that evangelical co-pilot ridiculous scene about?

i think I might have now completely spoiled the rest of the spoiler that reb started 😉

And denzel’s love not-interest was also a too good but slightly flawed person. She was a drug addict who would do anything for her next fix but not a porn movie when offered – she has morals! But she could rip off and use her landlord 🙄

    spoiler now complete!

I must’ve fallen asleep during all that KL..

I just remember the plane crash at the beginning and then him going to jail at the end.

And then I just thought “thank god that’s all over with…”

I heard tell that Tarantino’s making a sequel to ‘Inglorious Basterds’ too.

    Choice!

Even though he won’t win, Denzel definitely deserved the Oscar nomination because he is just great here and keeps this flick ticking, just when it seems to fall on it’s own, two feet from conventionality. Good review.
