Hi

May 21, 2013

This is just a quick post to thank all of youse for actually dropping by and bothering to comment on this web place.

Usually I just post topics for discussion on things that interest me..

Being time-poor (I work for a living) I can’t always be here to respond to everyone’s comments.

But I appreciate your input and what’s going on…

Anyone can say any thing they like and that…

reb.

Generally just lurk Reb but appreciate what you’ve got going on. Maintain the faith!

    Onya, reb.

Credit to you for keeping the Beast alive for so long, in the face of indescribable complexities borne from (commendably) not ruling with an ideological Iron Hand.

    You always have my support.

Fuck those other boring, predictable, partisan knitting circles.

Well I appreciate what you say too reb and usually what you are interested in interests me too. You write some great, well thought out posts [which I could never hope to do].

I think I’ve got minority govt fatigue, I’m sick of the craziness.

I’ve got completely fed up with the hysteria and BS that having a minority govt. has created here. It really has been ‘the great unhinging’.
I am hoping it becomes a much more frequent occurrence in australia so the kiddies might actually learn to behave like real politicians and play nicely with others! Having absolute power has spoiled them all rotten for too long.

Sorry if I appeared too critical yesterday, didn’t mean to offend [I wasn’t actually directing anything at you, it was more my observations of the predictable ‘two sides’ here].

Now don’t go cracking the sads on me, you know I hate it when you do. Sure, we are a challenge, but you’re up to it…chin up! πŸ˜†

When I first came across Trash it struck me immediately, the uniqueness of the place, its humour and intellectual vitality. Last century I was a reporter in the msm, but it was never as much fun as The Daily Trash.

And of course I greatly appreciate you giving me a room out the back so I can work on the biggest scoop of the 21st century.

    I dont !

    Yeah……………….I love this joint.

I was never a grafitti artist but this joint sort of reminds me of a big white wall being constantly tagged by the neighbourhood’s vandals all trying to out tag each other endlessly.

So Hazel Hawke died, so did Margaret Whitlam.

I find the eulogising of these apparently nice women odd. Their main claims to fame was their marriage to Prime Ministers, and that they used this to promote social issues.

Without their marriages they would simply have been well intentioned nobodies, like the rest of us. They may not have even reached the level of self sacrifice that thousands of volunteers display.

It’s noteworthy when a celebrity dies, but don’t bother to sanctify them.

Same could be said of the husbands, have we had a single male PM yet? Oh my horror – we’ve got a single female PM!!! Now I know why we have had mass hysteria for three years!

Have you ever thought that it was them who made their ordinary husbands not only ordinary PM material, but great PM material?

They may not have even reached the level of self sacrifice that thousands of volunteers display.

Australian ‘first ladies’ are expected to perform a lot of charitable and volunteer work, they must sacrifice self for the public duties/good works that their husbands are just way too important and way too busy big noting themselves to do.

Her friend said on 7:30 last night, “I was trying to buy a tracksuit for Hazel in David Jones and wasn’t happy with anything I saw …

… when the shop assistant asked what I was looking for I said something for my friend Hazel Hawke” … “oh, in that case” said the assistant … and a whole rack of different track suits came out ….

… she probably thought she was doing DJ’s a favour … but it just confirmed my belief that DJ’s staff think their shit don’t stink and why I have refused to walk in the place for over two decades …

Both seemed nice women and probably provided plenty of support and encouragement to their husbands. But it is difficult to imagine Hawke and Whitlam not being leaders of something regardless of their spouses.

The wives did a good job in promoting some decent causes and hosting events at the Lodge, but they weren’t the main act…and for the record, nor is Tim.

It’s simply odd and demeaning to women that people would consider wives as being the important role models. Like Mrs Obama is one of the most powerful women in the world!!?

As if ambitious and capable women are supposed to aspire to getting married to a politician to maximise their influence.

I think the women were married long before their very ambitious husbands even looked like becoming a PM, the women likely felt more dread than excitement at the prospect of PM.

hey armchair , go watermelon !

hehe, the thought of another hung parliament is the only thing that will encourage me to vote.

    CFMEU found guilty!

It has been convicted in the Supreme Court as a result of its thuggish and illegal behaviour at a Victorian construction site. It tried to prevent ordinary people from attending work. It insulted and intimidated.

Naturally the ALP leader declines to criticise the union.

‘PRIME Minister Julia Gillard has been drawn further into the union fraud investigation involving her former boyfriend, as Victorian police examine her radio account of a 1993 property transaction.

‘News Limited can reveal Australian Workers Union offices in Perth and Melbourne have also been searched as fraud squad detectives step up their probe into the slush fund scandal.

‘Ms Gillard has vigorously denied any wrongdoing in relation to the scandal.’
