Salvation Army says “Gays Need to Be Put to Death”

June 12, 2013

****ANOTHER STUNNING GUTTER TRASH EXCLUSIVE REPORT ON THOSE SELF-SERVING SANCTIMONIOUS CONDESCENDING PATRONISING HOLIER-THAN-THOU SHALLOW PRETENTIOUS RELIGIOUS PRICKS****

Hallelujah!

Come christmas, those uniformed do-gooders from the so-called “Salvation Army” will be standing on street corners in their crisp uniforms asking the sympathetic public to support their public appeals to help the marginalised and disenfranchised, but it appears that their offers of support stop short when it comes to help for the LGBT community.

As we all know, the charity collects millions of dollars in donations every year, and they use these funds to distribute it to needy families, seniors, and the homeless.

Which is all well and good…

However, the loveable Salvation Army has recently re-affirmed its so-called ‘christian beliefs,” stating that they do not accept the “LGBT lifestyle” (whatever that is), nor do they agree with the idea of marriage equality.

In fact, the so-called “Salvation Army” went on record recently, declaring that LGBT parents should be “put to death” according to biblical instruction. Apparently.

Major Andrew Craibe, a Salvation Army Media Relations Director, went on public radio hosted by journalist Serena Ryan, to respond to a recent move by the LGBT community calling for a boycott of the nonprofit for its anti-gay policies and beliefs.

Ryan questioned Craibe about the so-called “Salvation Story” and the so-called “Salvationist Handbook of Doctrine,” –  the manual used to train Salvation Army “soldiers” and members.

Several chapters refer to “the sin of homosexuality,” including a section that cites Romans 1:18-32, which includes a admonition that homosexuals “deserved to die.”

Journalist Ryan asked: “According to the Salvation Army gay people deserve death. How do you respond to that, as part of your doctrine?”

Craibe responded: “Well, that’s a part of our belief system.”

Ryan: “So they should die.”

Craibe: “You know, we have an alignment to the Scriptures, but that’s our belief.”

Ryan: ‘You’re proposing in your doctrine that because these parents are gay, that they must die.”

Craibe: “Well….,well… because that is part of our Christian doctrine “

Ryan: “But how is that Christian….? …..Shouldn’t it be about love…?”

Craibe: “Well, the love that we would show is about that: consideration for all human beings to come to know salvation…”

Ryan:  “..Or die…”

Craibe: “Well, yes.”

The so-called Salvation Army is willing to accept thousands of dollars in donations from the LGBT community but yet they aren’t willing to support them.

For a charity to wish “death” upon an already marginalised minority in the community is a disgrace.

I for one, will be telling them to “GET FUCKED” in no uncertain terms come their next guilt-ridden Christmas campaign.

So, the SA’s view is that “We’ll help you out if you’re poor, homeless, hungry, disabled, orphaned, black, white, or brown, old or young…but if you’re gay you’re not worthy…”

How very Christ-ly of them. I’m sure that’s what Jesus – that long-haired, robe-clad, sandle-wearing dude who hung around day and night with twelve young guys – would’ve said.

I s’pose we can now add the SA to any one of the other groups in the Religous Hate Propaganda list including the Westboro Baptists.

It seems they are uncharitable at SA headquarters, not sure the lower ranks feel the same way.

Sue made a very interesting point about those fishermen on the beach being gay… its a revelation which changes perspective entirely.

The current Salvation Army positional statement on homosexuality is a blank sheet:

    http://web.salvationarmy.org/ind%5Cwww_ind.nsf/vw-sublinks/80256E520050A2E280256CB9005E9877?opendocument

The Salvation Army is against abortion access, but supports birth-control access (as long as it’s for married couples).

The Salvation Army is against gay marriage, arguing that marriage is between a man and a woman. It stands against sex outside marriage.

I have refused to have anything to do with the salvos for 17 years. Ever since I worked closely with the salvo management of a women’s crisis centre. They used the govt [taxpayer] funding and the centre vehicles, supposedly for the clients benefit, as if they were provided for their own personal and family use. No problem at all with misuse of funds.
When they were challenged on it and the evidence presented, they used the power of the organisation to silence the govt dept and the media who were going to report it [it would ruin their goodwill from the public].

They’ll happily help themselves too and they won’t serve their client’s best interests if it goes against their religious belief, even if they are funded to do so.

I have received the following response from The Salvation Army…

“We do not believe, nor endorse, that homosexual activity should result in physical punishment http://sar.my/joyrsp

According to the SA It’s all just a “misunderstanding” of “the scripture”…

    From the link above…

“This is a misunderstanding of the text referred to. The Scripture in question, viewed in its broader context, is not referring to physical death, nor is it specifically targeted at homosexual behaviour. The author is arguing that no human being is without sin, all sin leads to spiritual death (separation from God), and all people therefore need a Saviour.”

Why do I feel so unconvinced??

  9. June 13, 2013 1:04 pm

    Sounds like obfuscation to me.

The people they need to be stressing that bit of ‘interpretive excuse making’ to are the homophobes within their rank & file.

You know the jeebusfreekz have shat in their own nest when the various defenders of jeebusfreekz on this blog avoid commenting on the thread. Really, the SA can pull all of the semantics it likes, but the underlying repulsion is still obvious to everyone.
If this was a post for bashing the moosies, they’d be lining up here to drop their jackboots into the ribs.

Fuckers won’t be getting a cent out of me ever again.

Sick to fucking death of ‘scripture’ being used as an excuse to perpetuate prejudice; by any religion.

“If this was a post for bashing the moosies, they’d be lining up here to drop their jackboots into the ribs.”

We both know there aren’t gonna be any posts here bashing “moosies”, even for their actual treatment of gays.

“Whilst homosexuals and human-rights activists are demanding same-sex marriages to be recognized in the West or are busy condemning any sort of criticism (regardless of how legitimate it may be) of Islam, the ignored homosexuals of the Islamic East are left fighting for even the most basic of human rights, and in many cases, their very lives.

“Exact figures are hard to determine, due to the political turmoil in many of the Islamic states, but as of 2009 homosexual relationships, acts or behavior are forbidden in approximately thirty-six Islamic countries including Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Indonesia, Iran, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Yemen, with punishments including anything from a fine up to life imprisonment.[17][18] Ten of those countries out of the thirty-six impose the death penalty for homosexuals. They are Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi-Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Yemen and some states in Malaysia.”

    Hey, you brought it up.

    😉

I used to (compulsory) help out begging for donations at people’s doors for the Red Shield Appeal as a captive of the Catholic Boarding conscription.

I’ve also donated semi-regularly over the years since incarceration (in the Catholic Boarding System).

I’d never looked at their fine print until, reb, (not one to unnecessarily bash the religious) pointed it out.

Now, I offer them a hearty GET FUCKED! …& I’ll be instructing everyone I know who will listen to do the same. No more ca$h for scripture slaves.

In the immortal words of Tom Araya/Kerry King…

“Drones since the dawn of time
Compelled to live your sheltered lives
Not once has anyone ever seen
Such a rise in pure hypocrisy
I’ll instigate I’ll free your mind
I’ll show you what I’ve known all this time

God hates us all, God hates us all

You know it’s true God hates this place
You know it’s true he hates this race
    Homicide – Suicide
Hate heals, you should try it sometime
Strive for peace with acts of war
The beauty of death we all adore
I have no faith distracting me
I know why your prayers will never be answered

God hates us all, God hates us all
God hates us all, God hates us all

    Yea! he fuckin’ hates me

Pessimist, terrorist targeting the next mark
    Global chaos feeding on hysteria
Cut throat, slit your wrist, shoot you in the back fair game
Drug abuse, self abuse searching for the next high
Sounds a lot like hell is spreading all the time
I’m waiting for the day the whole world fuckin’ dies

I never said I wanted to be God’s disciple
I’ll never be the one to blindly follow

Man made virus infecting the world
    Self-destruct human time bomb
What if there is no God would you think the fuckin’ same
Wasting your life in a leap of blind faith
Wake the fuck up can’t ignore what I say
    I got my own philosophy

    I hate everyone equally
You can’t tear that out of me
    No segregation – seperation
Just me in my world of enemies

I never said I wanted to be God’s disciple
I’ll never be the one to blindly follow

I’ll never be the one to bear the cross – disciple

    I reject this fuckin’ race
    I despise this fuckin’ place”

  23. June 13, 2013 7:20 pm

I’ve been reflecting on the response afforded to me by god’s messengers, sorry “interpretators” at the Salvation Army, that the fundamental “misunderstanding” is that they don’t actually believe that gays and lesbians should be “physically” put to death, but are instead just “spiritually” dead.

I guess that makes it alright then… 😯

  24. June 13, 2013 7:25 pm

    No. No it doesn’t.

Because too many, non-thinking, malleable, soft-headed, impressionable, ignorant, semantic-deficient do-gooders take their lead from such thinly veiled discriminatory bilge.

I had a read of Romans last night and it’s more about being dead to God than being worthy of execution.

But regardless, Paul was a fair sort of prick historically and I’ve always harboured doubts about his conversion.

The dog-botherers always have some sort of excuse to stick their unwanted noses into the personal Liberty`s of the rest of us, in the name of their great delusion. They will receive the holy `Get`Fcuked` the next time they bang on my door for ca$h. The arrogance of dog-botherers is supplied from a bottom-less and tax-free well, which should have the tax-free status removed. When l die, l do not want to go for `eternity`, to a `heaven` that is packed wall to wall with these mean spirited delusionals. l have already spent more time than l wish among the delusionals in life. For eternity, l just want somewhere quite.

Theology? is that even a legitimate study? The study of “it is true if I believe it”?
No proof or evidence required for any claims. A bit like the study of fairy tales. Too heavenly minded to be of any earthly good, if only they would seek treatment for their mental illness, recovery and rehabilitation is possible, they can become useful human beings again.
