Bolt seems to have turned up the volume. That’s nice.

  2. July 24, 2013 1:43 pm

Prize winners notified by summons and judges decision is final
*human rights activists or tyre kickers are prohibited from entering the competiton.

Most of us around here generally write a load of shite! 🙂

    Holyfknshit!

That will probably make for interesting watching.

Kudos to Rudd for having the cojones to front up. Not sure that any credible person should be giving oxygen to The Pied Piper of Boltards though.

I’ll be at work, & I’ve never watched Teh Bilge Report before on principle, but I imagine there’ll be a one sided round up of Rudd’s appearance on Andrews Internet Sycophant Site post broadcast.

  8. July 24, 2013 3:29 pm

He’s shortcircuiting a lot of the points Bolt was able to attack Gillard on.

No matter, Bolt has turned blaming Teh Left & ALP PM ‘XYZ’ into an artform. It wouldn’t matter what was said or done, Bolt would find some angle to wail about it from.

  9. July 24, 2013 3:35 pm

    “I’ll be at work”

You might be able to catch up with it later on IShite.

If our supreme leader can sway many on the right to move to the centre, surely that’s a good thing.

The Bolter will probably question him briefly on boating and weather.

I can imagine bolt is even worse on tv than he is in print. Visual+aural+faecal.

  14. July 24, 2013 3:55 pm

It was on TV when I was at the gym on Sunday boss.

    I was on the treadmill.

I wasn’t really paying too much attention (it was on silent thank dog), but his “guests” were Joe Hockey and Nick Minchin, so it was really just a soapbox for an anti-Rudd and anti-Labor slagfest…

At one point Bolt suggested that “Insiders” had been “hijacked by the left” which I thought was hilarious given that that show’s just another rabid soapbox for Piers Ackerman..

That’s the only time I’ve ever seen it…

I’m not sure if I can bring myself to watch it on Sunday, but it would be interesting see if Rudd cam mop the floor with him..

You PAY to walk … ??

    In air-conditioned, stinky comfort I s’ppose?

Oh! That’s right its Melbourne … I had to put a long sleeve shirt on this morning bit chilly but I still wore shorts … 🙄

Bolt is just another Akerman, Jones, Smith and whoever plays on the country’s airwaves as a “shock jock” owned by “guess who” theses days (no leftwing radio shows that I’m aware of) …

  17. July 24, 2013 4:50 pm

“You PAY to walk … ??

We have a fully equipped gym with personal trainers, 25 metre swimming pool, spa, sauna, steam room..

I expect Bolt to ask him some sticky questions, with the intention of humiliating our great leader. This is how he treated Greg Hunt…

    ANDREW BOLT
‘Why are we spending billions to make no difference to global temperatures which have paused for sixteen years anyway?

    GREG HUNT:
‘The 1990’s had the highest of any of the years. The last decade has been the highest decade on record. So people…

    ANDREW BOLT:
‘But it hasn’t risen, that’s my point, and it won’t make a difference. Why are we spending billions that make no difference?’

A – Perhaps when Mr Abbott appears on this program you will ask him why he proposes to spend even more on his carbon abatement program.

However in 2007 I committed to an ETS, and we have finally delivered this. The public expects delivery of this commitment, and other nations are also moving to carbon trading.

Bolters slavish followers expect Kev to answer science questions, I don’t have a problem with that.

  32. July 24, 2013 6:26 pm

I did my own tax online this year.

The dickheads that usually do it were getting way too greedy.

I didn’t realise how simple it was until I did it. I’m pretty sure I was paying them to use the same software I used; free software at that.

  33. July 24, 2013 6:27 pm

Kev is too cunning to let a partisan midget like Bolt dictate terms to him.

… The Minister gave our “accountants” (we had three over 16 years) a CD, they simply copied the info and charged us a fkn fortune (no responsibility!)…

… when were retired we did a bit of work for certain clients “special requests” and I did our tax on the interwebby too … in fact I had trouble the first time ’cause I made it too “hard” … it was so fkn simple it was silly!

The Ruddster may squirm and beat around the bush, even answer his own question, but if he shows ignorance or deceit then he’s dead meat.

  38. July 24, 2013 7:03 pm

“If the Bolter asks the tricky science questions”

    ROFLMAO!

  39. July 24, 2013 7:05 pm

    Yep, TB.

I heard one of the guys I work with talking about doing his tax online. This is a person I consider to be barely capable of performing simple functions; so I figured, if he can do it, I won’t have any trouble.
The difference between him & I, in this case, is that I didn’t get ‘creative’ with deceitful, moronic deductions. I’d prefer not to give the ATO a reason to put the endoscope up my rear entrance (not that I have anything to hide).

I’ll never pay a ‘tax consultant’ another solitary cent! As you said, they aren’t liable for any mistakes they make anyway.

  40. July 24, 2013 7:08 pm

Most people, outside of his lickspittles, recognise Bolt as the despicable partisan arsehat that he is. He isn’t viewed by the general public as an unbiased source of information or analysis. His gotchas might stimulate the gonads of his acolytes into swollen arousal, but they won’t register with normal people.

  41. July 24, 2013 7:10 pm

Kev’s powers of deflection far outweigh Andrew Arsehat’s enthusiastic powers of choir cultivation.

Why do you all hate Bolt so much? He is not my favourite journo, but he isn’t the worst by a long shot.

Bolt is very effective on a number of issues. I guess that is why he is so hated. He is well ahead of the pack on climate change, is very good on free speech and did a good job on Craig Thomson when a lot of lefty journos were running interference for him. Bolt is partisan, but no more so than many at the ABC, where they should not be partisan at all. Sure, he has become a little shrill lately but that is what partisans do when their side is losing.

Journalists have an obligation to be balanced in their reporting.

    Bolt isn’t a journalist.

    He’s an “opinion piece writer.”

And his opinions aren’t worth shit.

  46. July 24, 2013 7:46 pm

“Why do you all hate Bolt so much?”

    Me personally?

It’s because most of the occasional relevant points he makes are lost in the noise & incredulity of his supremely one sided, blatant hyperbolic propagandising for the right (he claims to be ‘conservative’, not rightwing at all..funny that rightwing numbskulls flock to his words 🙄 ).
He can be largely disregarded because he is so obviously rooting for an ideological outlook, rather than actual critical analysis. This can be determined just as well from what he chooses not to dwell on as much as that which he labours. He only has himself to blame for this credibilty deficit.
I see him as a shrewd antagonist, playing to a certain base.

I’m pretty sure, on 99% of issues, I know what crap he’s going to spew forth before I even look.

Best thing he ever wrote was when his dog died; because it was honest & devoid of partisan intent.

The thing with Bolt is that I don’t absolutely hate him. Sure, he is biased, but so is most every other opinion writer. Philip Adams is smug, childish and vindictive at times, but I still listen to him most nights. And David Marr is always condescending, but always worth listening to. Even Mad Mark Latham makes sense every now and then.

Any way I thought I’d plough trough today’s posts in Bolt’s blog. He is a prolific fellow, if nothing else.

First up is a juxtaposition of quotes showing the monumental hypocrisy the ALP when it comes to refugees. Worth a quick look, but basically making the same point most commentators are making.

Next is a long series of quotes demonstrating the intellectual bankruptcy of Climate Change proponents. This is well worth a look as you are unlikely to find any such references in Fairfax or on the ABC sites.

Next is two quotes allegedly showing Climate change bias in the Age. Not very compelling. Dubious at best.

Next is a link to a column on alarmist scares about climate change and food production. Well worth a read, but those of us who wasted time listening to the now discredited Paul Erlich the first time around just ignore this hysterical Malthusian BS every time it is trotted out.

Next he quotes an article in the Australian suggesting that Rudd will call an early election. A bit ho-hum.

Next up a nothing comment on the TWU’s decision to run its own ads rather than donate the money to the ALP. Bolt makes the unrealistic suggestion that the Unions should play the parties off against each other. Why would they do that when the created the ALP in the first place?

Next, a narcissistic collection of quotes about the way he should interview Rudd on Sunday. Clearly he has no ideas of his own when it comes to this.

Next, a post on bass singers. Interesting links to videos.

Next a link to one of his columns arguing that Rudd’s rapid policy changes might help in this election but will make the one after more difficult for the ALP. Wishful thinking. Really starting to sound shrill here.

Next a post showing Pliberserk is a hypocrite. Who knew?

Next a post showing the PNG debacle. He is probably right. This announcement will end up hurting the ALP at the polls. Doesn’t mean Rudd will lose though.

Next, a post showing ABC bias – again, who knew? Still it doesn’t hurt to put this out there. Somebody ahs to do it. Ends with a good quote from Orwell.

Next a post suggesting Bowen is back-peddling on the FBT car rort reforms. In fact Bowen is merely explaining the log book rules.

Next a nice post about the Liverpool-Victory game.

So there it is 14 posts including two columns all before midday! The man is a glutton for work. And a couple of them are worthwhile.

I don’t see any reason there for the utter hatred he attracts other than he is totally against the ALP and he often uses quotes to highlight hypocrisy. Obviously this upsets the hypocrites.

People listened to Bolt and the like about Gillard, because they experienced all the examples of her dishonesty and poor judgement. Now that he’s attacking Rudd with the same fervor, they won’t listen.

Rudd simply doesn’t have Gillard’s track record and accusations of dishonesty don’t resonate. That’s why Bolt just sounds increasingly shrill, he probably believed the stories about his influence.

  52. July 25, 2013 12:41 pm

Other people hate the ALP but they do it honestly.

Bolt is not honest when he pushes his partisan views. He lies, deceives, misrepresents and manipulates. He targets certain people for an attack and incites his rabid followers into a frenzy based on a lack of truthiness. The courts have highlighted his dishonesty and laziness in ‘reporting’.

If he was in a sport he would be known for his bad sportsmanship, kicking heads, punching & biting behind the umpire’s back etc. No-one likes the player who plays dirty, although some would come to the match just to see what mischief he gets up to and away with!
