Passenger said he only wanted to travel together with his ‘beloved’ pet

A man tried to smuggle his pet turtle through security in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport by hiding it in a KFC hamburger.

The man slapped two slices of bread, lettuce, tomato and special sauce on the turtle, trying to fully hide its identity the South China Morning Post reports.

The backstory here starts in the terminal for a China Southern Airline.  A man wanted to sneak his pet turtle into Beijing, so he disguised it as a cheeseburger.

As the man, Li, passed through security, their X-ray scanner noted a few ‘odd, bony’ protrusions coming from within a KFC hamburger container.

Airport staff determined that the protrusions looked suspiciously like turtle limbs, and asked to inspect Li’s luggage.

Upon closer inspection, Li became nervous and stated, “There’s no turtle in there, just a hamburger.”  The man was of course not telling the truth and his turtle was taken away.

When asked why he had devised this strange idea, Li said that he had only wanted to travel together with his “beloved” turtle.

So where’s the ‘beloved pet” now?

He should have told them it was a Big Mac … not Kentucky Duck! 🙄

    No sesame seeds … 😯

Go on say something, you'll feel better...
