****A STUNNING GUTTER TRASH EXCLUSIVE****

Celerity socialites Brynne and Geoffrey Edelsten have pulled the plug on their extraordinary four-year marriage!

The news has sent shock waves across Australia and the US and comes amid explosive new allegations that multimillionaire Edelsten has filed for bankruptcy!

The flamboyant couple renowned for their extravagant lifestyle have called in the lawyers to begin divorce proceedings.

The Gutter Trash can reveal that with no prenuptial agreement in place it’s going to be a costly exercise for the Mr Edeslten.

‘They are both devastated,’ a close friend confirmed to The Gutter Trash earlier today.

The 70-year-old declared himself bankrupt to a court in Ohio last week, one day before a hearing in the long-running legal battle against his former US business partners, the Mawardi family.

Mr Edelsten and the Mawardis had been fighting for control of assets that included a fashion label, a Dominican Republic casino, a luxury jet and two slum housing complexes.

In the federal bankruptcy petition, Mr Edelsten said he had debts of $18.2 million. He claimed he was worth between $US10 million ($11.1 million) and $US50 million.

Creditors included the Australian Taxation Office, US state and federal tax authorities, National Australia Bank, his mother, Singapore casino and hotel Marina Bay Sands, joint business ventures with the Mawardi family and his personal accountants and lawyers in the US and Australia.

Mr Edelsten’s Australian lawyers claimed the bankruptcy filing was a strategy to ”better realise the investments made in the US”.

”My client has filed a Chapter 11 [bankruptcy] procedure,” said legal firm Webb Korfiatis, which was allegedly owed $50,000 by Mr Edelsten.

”I am instructed that my client does not intend selling any personal assets in Australia, including the CBD penthouse.”

The reporters are listed on Mr Edelsten’s Australia’s Worst Journalist website.

The bid to seek protection from creditors throws into question the lavish jet-setting lifestyle enjoyed by Mr Edelsten – who only three years ago was believed to be worth $100 million – and his reality TV star wife, Brynne.

And now the poppy-loppers come out. How sad that this loving couple have been put under so much pressure by a callous exploitative media. It is nothing more than an attack on the institution of holy matrimony. Won’t somebody think of the children?!

There was talk in news.com.au today that the US President and Mrs Obama were also having troubles.

Surely considering the intellect of Brynne and that of the Prez this is more than a coincidence

Even in Paris we have this callous media trying to create divorce.

‘FRANCE’S “first lady” was recovering in hospital yesterday following the disclosure of President Hollande’s affair with an actress as it emerged that the flat where he held his trysts was linked to two figures in the criminal underworld. Valerie Trierweiler, 48, was admitted for tests and to rest on the day that her partner’s liaison with Julie Gayet, 41, was disclosed in a magazine.’

What a stupid old commo Adams is!

Communism died because communist leaders realised that it was a fucked-up system.

In Russia Gorbachev allowed communism to go down without a fight. He finally allowed the people the freedom they yearned for; the freedom denied them under leftist totalitarian rule.

In China Deng Xiaoping realised the system was fucked after 25 million people starved (this is what happens when leftists take control). He then moved away from communist economics but tried to keep the totalitarian aspects of communism. In places like Cuba and North Korea, the communists still cling to power, to the very great detriment of their citizens.

Democracy is threatened now because of the centralising tendencies of left. Totalitarianism is implicit in communism since central control is necessary for the communists to implement their program. The watered down version of communism now pursued by modern leftists is still based on the fatal conceit of communism – that the cognoscenti can make things better if only they have the power. Thus in Europe, the US and Australia a creeping centralism is slowly strangling democracy.

It wasn’t capitalists who have imposed restrictions on free speech in Australia and it wasn’t capitalists who tried to further restrict the freedom of the press in Australia – it was dumb thin-skinned leftists. They hate democracy. It was not capitalists but rather that putrid idiot Green Clive Hamilton who suggested suspending democracy so he could get his global warming agenda implemented.

Government has a role in setting up a system which allows free markets to flourish. It has a responsibility not only to provide sufficient freedom from government interference to allow free markets to flourish but also to provide a framework which constrains the anti-competitive tendencies of capitalists.

Leftists hate the idea of a functioning and efficient market economy because it makes them feel useless. The world is a better place without the strutting dunces of the left imposing their demented schemes to make the world a better place.

erm, once again mixing politics with economic systems … BTW, just like the command system I’m yet to see an “efficient” market economy …

It wasn’t capitalists who have imposed restrictions on free speech in Australia and it wasn’t capitalists who tried to further restrict the freedom of the press in Australia

And yet to talk about “centralised power” as being dangerous … is “concentrated” the same thisng eg Rupert Murdoch’s empire?

For the record I claim to be democratic and a capitalist … what I don’t claim to be is a capitalist that makes money at the expense of other people’s lives and livelihoods – ie dog eat dog Uber Kapitalism prcatised by Robber Barons in EVERY country in the world no matter what politics they claim …

Believing in helping those worse off than you and sharing does not make a person a communist … the dictators do that – whether left, right or middle (including monarchies BTW) … and they should be got rid of … unfortunately the sort of control and restricted information and manipulated laws in this country are looking more and more like a dictatorship …

As for people who believe in a society and life rather than the accumulation of wealth and power … I choose the former … I’m an Australian …

“once again mixing politics with economic systems”

Is there something wrong with that. There is a connection. Generally leftists fetter the market in their attempts to favour their union base and to divert other peoples’ money to their welfare scheme du jour. Free market conservatives generally try to roll back the excesses so that more wealth can be generated. Unfortunately leftists have little idea about how to generate the wealth they so blithely piss away. Every cent the government spends comes from private enterprise.

The reason most of us no longer live the short brutish life of the serf is precisely because of the success of market economics. Since the industrial revolution virtually every generation has been materially better off than the previous one, although, due to the idiocy of the socialist Big Government agenda, this is no longer the case in Europe or the US.

“just like the command system I’m yet to see an “efficient” market economy”

WTF?? “just like”??? They are not alike. There is no “just like” about it. Command economies inevitably and in every case produce poverty, misery and death for their citizens. I don’t know what your definition of “efficient” is but market economies have been the most successful of all systems in providing material goods for their citizens.

“And yet to talk about “centralised power” as being dangerous … is “concentrated” the same thing eg Rupert Murdoch’s empire?”

The reason the intelligentsia hates Murdoch is that he is a counterbalance to the prattling leftists who would otherwise dominate the media. It really drives them nuts. You see, the intelligentsia is superior and heaven help anyone who holds up a mirror to that naked emperor.

Half the country is conservative enough to vote Liberal. If it was left to the ABC, Fairfax, Global Mail, Crikey and the Guardian those people would have no voice at all. News Corp offers an alternative to the head-up-their-arse leftism of the ABC and the rest. The hilarious thing is that Fairfax is going broke precisely because the leftist cabal at the ABC has cannibalised its market. It can’t compete with free.

Given that there are practically no barriers to entry into the news business it is obvious that the major reason for News Corp’s success is that it supplies something the market is prepared to pay for.

The leftists who have taken over ABC News should be prosecuted for theft of public resources.

“Believing in helping those worse off than you and sharing does not make a person a communist … the dictators do that”

It is a slippery slope. Essentially one entails the other. The more control and regulation leftists require to implement their dreams, the more they centralise power to themselves.

“As for people who believe in a society and life rather than the accumulation of wealth and power … I choose the former … I’m an Australian …”

Guess what? I’m an Australian too. Unfortunately, I have not accumulated as much wealth as you so I am not complacent enough to make that sort of statement. I will be lucky if I get to enjoy a decent retirement, hence I resent all government waste, welfare and otherwise. The problem is that when Labor gets into power it just pisses public money against the wall, be it the Carbon Tax or the NBN or the BER or pink bats. Not satisfied with that it lets the unions off the leash, making it harder for the economy to improve.

You know that we are in broad agreement that governments should provide public health and education and some welfare. What I hate is moronic leftists racking up debts that cannot be paid off in the foreseeable future to pay for their idiotic schemes.

If the government prioritised freeing up the economy there might be more money to go around and there is some prospect I might earn enough to retire on. What really shits me is that the current government is fucking clueless and is unlikely to deliver on this.

It is little wonder that when politics is a matter of carefully prepared spin targeted at key demographics we end up with populist governments making promises they can’t keep and who end up trashing the economy in the process.

“just like the command system I’m yet to see an “efficient” market economy”

WTF?? “just like”??? They are not alike. There is no “just like” about it.

Poor grammar (I think) on my part … but my meaning was that neither command nor market systems are “efficient” … greed taints both systems …

Unfortunately, I have not accumulated as much wealth as you so I am not complacent enough to make that sort of statement.

Two issues here … you have no idea how much “wealth” I have … and you assume I’m complacent … 😉

Unions are relatively irrelevant to this type of discussion these days, they have less and less membership and thus power … they do manipulate PS institutions (and particularly education) far too much but do little to influence the making or loss profit/money … one should never lose sight of the real reason for unions and that is to maintain an equal share of the returns from a business for the labour that they (alone!) can supply …

… my argument has been for many years that the real problem is a lack of management education, training and development and thus qualifications in managers at all levels in professions and industry … one of the reasons I studied (for nine years), graduated (at 45) and started my own business to train managers and supervisors …

… never chased dollars, just provided service … kept the same daily rate for 12 of 16 years … complacent? wealthy? don’t think so … 45 years working my arse off … but always remembering that there were people worse off than me and others better off than me … but realising that life is not about making as much money as you can and trying to help people improve their lives, income and therefore their family’s lives … and wealth is measured in many ways …

The world’s biggest problem is greed … I was chatting with my two youngest g/kids recently and trying to explain how lucky we are in the West … and said, “there are millions of children in the world who have never even heard of ice cream – let alone tasted it” …

… although ironically many would have tasted Coca Cola …

Yes, we do agree on many things (ie health, education etc) but the only thing I can think that is worse than union leaders ripping of union member’s funds is all the politicians and ex-pollies ripping all of us off for life!

And that would happen no-matter what political or and/or economic system we were chained to!
