I’ve flown Malaysia airlines more times than I care to remember and have always found them to be professional, friendly and efficient.
It comes as a shock therefore, that in recent days we’ve witnessed the mystery unfolding regarding the disappearance of flight MH370.
We’ve all heard horror stories about budget airlines or dodgy Asian airlines (Garuda anyone?), however MAS is rightly regarded as a premium airline with an enviable safety record.
We can only speculate as to what might’ve happened and sympathise with those who have lost friends and loved ones.

There are lots of conspiracy theories already. I heard at work some ‘news’ that there was 9 billion in gold on board and that the pilot or co-pilot was in on the hijack. I also heard from one person whose F-I-L is a pilot, that they could decompress the cabin and everyone would sink into unconsciousness and have a ‘nice death’ [as walrus said previously].

One thing I feel reasonably confident of (based on nothing other than gut feel, and I may well be proven wrong) is that if the pilot(s) were involved it has nothing to with any sort of loyalty to Anwar Ibrahim.
That sort of attempt to discredit the pilots and attempt to link them to the government’s main source of political grief and rivalry smacks of the typical sort of smear that the Malaysian government get up to.

COLOMBIAN President Juan Manuel Carlos kicked off his re-election campaign in the coastal city of Barranquilla at the weekend with a speech that was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
As Mr Carlos delivered a passionate address to a crowd of tens of thousands, a dark stain bloomed across the front of his light beige trousers.

While l agree this is a `possibility` scales“osy, and it has it` `historical` references, the cockpit crew pulling the fuses to the aircraft will explain the `signals` going out on the aircraft, it overlooks the dozens or hundreds of passengers carrying iproducts that would still be `active` to phone, web and google-earth/gps.
