Operation Bring Them Home: The Unfolding Shambles

July 29, 2014

mqdefault

Operation “Bring them Home” is all going swimmingly well with one hundred and ninety or so Australian Federal Police now somewhere near the crash zone of flight MH17.

The team – including Australian and Dutch inspectors – drove into an “active battle zone” as they headed for the “chaotic and extremely dangerous” site in eastern Ukraine.

According to bystanders in the area , heavy armed fighting continues 15 kilometres from the crash site.

The rebels are scrambling to try to retain control of the crash site, with fears now emerging for the safety of the AFP and questions arising over the wisdom of sending unarmed officers to the war zone in the first place.

Despite efforts to access the crash site, Australian Police were forced to turn back about 30 kilometres from the fields from where the plane crashed.

Rebels in the area claim the Ukrainian army have seized control of part of the vast crash site.

“The Ukrainians have taken over a part of the crash site,” said Vladimir Antyufeev, first deputy prime minister of the self-styled Donetsk People’s Republic.

PHONEY TONY

Prime Minister Abbott says he will be making some phone calls.

“I’ll be making phone calls later today to see what we can do . . . I’ll be talking soon to people on the ground to make sure that it happens, it happens as quickly as possible and it happens as safely as possible.”

It appears that the Australian Government underestimated the situation on the ground and is now considering arming the AFP officers.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop is hopeful Ukrainian MPs will ratify an agreement to allow Australians to carry weapons at the MH17 crash site.

Armed AFP officers in a war zone.

What could possibly go wrong…?

“Now, I don’t envisage that we will ever resort to that, but it is a contingency planning, and you would be reckless not to include it in this kind of agreement.

“But I stress our mission is unarmed because it is [a] humanitarian mission.”

And of everyone in their chain of command all the way up to Vladimir Putin, who, as leader of Russia has been inciting and arming ethnic and linguistic Russians in eastern Ukraine to revolt against rule from Kiev and to live instead in a self-governing Russian-leaning new state, alongside another fresh one, based on the Crimean peninsula.

Here in Australia, only a few journalists working with News Ltd seem to be actually spruiking for war, or at least direct confrontation with Russia and its leadership, as a result of the shooting down of MH17, although there are any number of expressions of anger and fury based on the idea that responsibility for the disaster ultimately rests with Putin, and that the type of responsibility that can be fixed on is some war crime, or crime against humanity.

Indeed, there is no evidence, so far, that the rebels had any intention of doing so either, or were aware that the aircraft in question was other than a Ukrainian warplane. That does not prevent people from saying that Putin is responsible”

It was equally a reflection of the fact that both Australia and the Netherlands are essentially sound, if very junior players in the Western alliance, far more reliable, say, than Malaysia. Mostly, of course, not leaders but followers, with a presence so unobtrusive that most people hardly ever think of us in geopolitical terms.”

Perhaps there is some hope for journalism in this country after all

To a casual reader the new principles may seem straightforward. But they contain some subtle changes with quite radical implications. For example, the first principle in the old rulebook began: “Publications should take reasonable steps to ensure that reports are accurate, fair and balanced…”

Easy to overlook the word “reports”. But it was used by newspaper publishers to argue that the principle applied only to news reports, not to comment or opinion.

The press council’s new first principle says that editors must “ensure that factual material in news reports and elsewhere is accurate and not misleading…”

If businesses can’t muster the confidence to invest, we will stagnate. The election of a Coalition government was supposed to act as a circuit breaker.

(On operational matters, I’m perhaps still a bit disappointed that Morrison and Co apparently have seized an opportunity for a minor defeat from the jaws of a vast legal victory, and a High Court’s vindication of the Federal Government’s sophisticated argument that refoulement is not refoulement if migration law is effectively suspended and only maritime laws apply(ied) to persons accustomed to befriendment and accommodation on the high seas; also, that another excellent opportunity has been foregone to present a strong, a very strong case, in open legal contest and before the Australian people, for why intermediate-transit, non-signatory-to-refugee-convention-nations definitively and unambiguously provide the very safe havens which a refugee-convention-signatory-nation, like Australia, also provides for any trans-migrating potential asylum-seekers; and am, therefore, somewhat dismayed that all that remains for Scott, and for the Australian public, to celebrate in Australia’s World-class Refugee and Border Protection Force is some sensational PR on the 7:30 Show-n-tell; and perhaps the prospects of an abhorrent, unAustralian HCA-accepted amended lawsuit for false imprisonment of it-would-be-absurd-for border force-if-(im)permanent-residents-of-other-places-who-might-or-might-not-(have)-be(en)-refugee-refugees-weren’t-just-described-and-proscribed-as-permanent-economic-migrants-in-reserved-terms and a lefty-lawyery-advocatey-led incitement of guest-detainees to refuse the magnanimous gesture of a specially-arranged visit by consular officials in lieu of pursuing any or every of all or no other options (un)available.)

And the gabamint doesn’t want anyone talking about it either

Media lawyer Peter Bartlett, from Minter Ellison, said anyone who tweets a link to the Wikileaks report, posts it on Facebook, or shares it in any way online could also face charges.

Using a hashtag such as “Wikileaks” is not in breach of the order but any mention on social media of the information detailed in it, such as people’s names, is banned.

    http://www.smh.com.au/national/social-media-users-could-be-charged-for-sharing-wikileaks-story-20140730-zye0b.html

Wonder where our “free speech” warriors are now, and how they will react to this?

Mind you, personally, I HATE watching the lines of people being escorted into courts on the news who have been “charged” with some crime or other. Personally, I don’t want to know them until they have been found guilty. If not, they can remain anonymous as far as I am concerned.

The number of peoples lives who have been ruined because of this exposure is not worth the cost of “we must know” imo. Once you are up there, guilty or not, your name is forever associated with the crime. Until the verdict is handed down, I don’t want to know the minor details, especially who the guilty party might or might not be. Time enough for that after the verdict.

Considering morriscum practically called The Human Rights Commissioner Gillian Triggs a liar on 7.30 last night, I wonder if he will do the same for wally’s new flame?

About four out of five of the 157 asylum seekers being held at a remote detention centre in Western Australia after being detained in windowless rooms on the high seas for almost a month are showing signs of trauma and torture, Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young has claimed.

    http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/asylum-seekers-showing-signs-of-trauma-torture-says-senator-20140730-3cuj1.html#ixzz38zBRU43F

    on Triggs and morriscum

SARAH FERGUSON: That – actually, as you are aware, that wasn’t my question. You’re saying that Gillian Triggs is making up the evidence about the sickness of children?

SCOTT MORRISON: I don’t think there is evidence of the claim that the high – the Human Rights Commissioner has made in the way that she has made it. These are difficult environments and appropriate care is provided by our people. I think they’re quite sensational claims that have been made. She herself is not a doctor and we have medical people who are there who provide that care on a daily basis.

Absolutely agree, TR, the Baden-Clay trial was a classic example … the coverage was endless before during and after the trial … you’d wonder about an appeal based on that a lone … trial by media …

… and juries are sent home each night now and are exposed to the media – (cost saving I was informed – not that members of either of the juries I was on, wanted to spend the nights away from home)

    Exactly.

eg Why did the “other” woman have to have her face pressed into our screens every night. I’m pretty sure this isn’t what she expected when getting into an affair (if she even knew it was an affair?). Now, her life will forever be dictated by that association. I’m sure she would have suffered enough without the rest of the country also seeing her.

No running from it now, yet (to my knowledge) she was an innocent to the actual crime. Just poor (or unlucky) taste in men.

All we needed to know was that there was another woman. End of story.

    3) Carbon pricing is an economic wrecking ball

In November of 1910, some of these vultures came together at the Jekyl Island Hunt Club on Jekyl Island, Georgia. What were they hunting? The biggest prize of all, the absolute and complete control of all the money in America which means control of all America and with it the power to make slaves of all the people.
Those who attended were: Senator Nelson Aldrich (Nelson Rockefeller’s maternal grandfather); A. Piatt Andrew, Economist and Assistant Secretary of the Treasury; Frank Vanderlip, President of the National City Bank of New York; Henry P. Norton, President of Morgan’s First National Bank of New York; Paul Moritz Warburg, a German who was partner in the New York banking house of Kuhn, Loeb Co.; Benjamin Strong, an aid to J. P. Morgan.

Paul Warburg was credited as the architect of the bill which was passed by Congress and signed by traitorous Woodrow Wilson. It was entitled the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. America once again had a central bank but this time they had placed America under an absolute dictatorship. President James Garfield had insight into this situation:

    • “It must be realized that whoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolutely master of all industry commerce.”

The Federal Reserve was incorporated in 1914 and has been creating a completely unnecessary national debt ever since. In simple terms, the Fed creates money as debt. They create money out of thin air by nothing more than a book entry. Whenever the members of the Fed make any loans, that debt money is our money supply.

The United States went bankrupt in 1938 because of this system. It took the Fed only 25 years to bankrupt the USA. Can you imagine how little time it would take these vultures to bankrupt a developing nation? The American people are paying about $300 billion dollars a year in interest to this phony organization. When you look in the Washington, D.C. phone book, you will not find the Federal Reserve in the Government section as they are a private concern.

The national debt is increased about $1.71 billion dollars every day (as of October 12, 2004) . Have you taken a look at your money? It says “Federal Reserve Note” which means it is an instrument of debt. There is no real money in circulation.

Also from that link is this gem:

    The Assassination of President Kennedy

One of the greatest coverups in history was the Killing of the President. If you believe the Mafia did it, then I have ocean front land in Kansas for you to buy. President Kennedy was murdered over money, $4 billion dollars worth. You see, he had printed $4 billion worth of non-interest bearing money which meant he began to chop at the profits of the vultures. Interest free money means the national debt is eliminated and the power of the international banking element is broken. So to prevent Kennedy from abolishing the illegal Fed, he was assassinated. Coincidence? As soon as the traitor Johnson was in office, he recalled all the debt free notes and continued our country in the same path of ruin. There, the mystery of the killing is over. Just follow the trail of the money.
