Earlier tonight on my abc, l saw an advert for a show that will go to air this week. This show (missed-the-name) will be interviews with Joolya and Kevin07.

(Keeping in fcuking mind, that blib can`t seem to do much better than `about` 50/50 in the polls, and anybody half fcuking decent would be at 85%-minimum against current lying zombies.)

#ls it just me trashers, or is blib`s mob about to start kicking themselves in the head for the next 18-months. Really, do blib`s team really need to give mr-rabbit every fcuking chance under the sun to defeat them.

#From an even earlier news-clip, blib was bumbling along, pretending/ trying to claim some kind kudos on future gay-marriage legalization. Not only did blib look like a frightened rabbit during his blathering, it was largely untrue. Yep, you guessed it, the very next clip was the greenz saying gay marriage has been their policy for yonks, and team-blib shouldn`t have voted it down last time!

Some racist precious types are all bothered about the traditional dance Adam Goodes did last night after a goal.

Goodes did go a bit too far and put many mainstream Australians off side and damaged the progress achieved after Sorry Day …

Public racism should be called out whenever and wherever it exists in my view. A teenager should be a bit aware of the world by then, they’ve usually managed to work out the rules of their home/family, their school and social skills with friends by that age. They also know about hurt feelings and nastiness to others at that age.
It is time we as a grown up country had a no tolerance view of racism in public arenas, just like we seem to have a no tolerance of anti anzac speech etc.

I’ll have to disagree with you on that TB.

How many aboriginal kids get made to feel bad about themselves every single day of their lives?
I am pleased that goodes took the time to educate her once he knew it was a young girl who racially abused him, he treated her sensitively and gently. A respect that his own kids probably wouldn’t get from the girl’s family.

The “war cry” is a distraction. Footy fans are booing Goodes because of the power imbalance between a rich, famous sportsperson, and a poor, 13 year old girl. People have an inherent sense of fairness, and they know what Goodes did to her wasn’t fair. (It doesn’t help that Goodes stages for free kicks. For northerners who don’t know what that is, it’s like soccer players taking a dive.)

For anyone who thinks the booing of Goodes is because of racism, ask yourself: why do crowds – even opposition fans – respect Cyril Rioli in a way they don’t Adam Goodes. (Just a suggestion, but maybe it’s because he plays sublime football, and leaves politics to the fuckwits in Canberra.)

…Footy fans are booing Goodes because of the power imbalance between a rich, famous sportsperson, and a poor, 13 year old girl…

Straight from bolt’s column, the great defender of racism artfully combines hate talk on social media and player tactics as the reason for booing goodes, then he brings in another aboriginal player [is rioli a quiet achiever and personality by any chance?] and makes him the gold standard for all aboriginal footy players. Of course there are no white players who use ‘tactics’ on field and who have a big presence is there?

Was there another incident with a 13 yo girl at that game?

Wealth and power doesn’t come into it, it’s irrelevant, it’s the colour of the skin in racism as any wealthy, famous black person will tell you.

Adam Goodes Displays His Culture During Indigenous Round; Australia Implodes:

…They are positive images that conceal the negative images. They become unknowing icons for the belief that reconciliation can be achieved as long as blackfellas stop whinging and get on with it. It presents a distorted view of where we are in this country in regards to race relations.

So it’s no wonder Australians would prefer that our high profile sports stars keep their advocacy restricted to wins on the sporting field…

…News Limited columnist Rita Panahi in particular, doesn’t believe the boos are racist, saying “How anyone could think that Hawthorn fans were booing a player because of his Aboriginal heritage is beyond me. If that were the case then Goodes wouldn’t be the only player targeted.”

But sentiments like that totally overlook the fact Goodes has been a continual target of abuse not because of what he does on the field, but because he is willing and unashamed to confront racism, in whatever form it takes…

Why Hawthorn supporters boo Adam Goodes: a story of class and prejudice:
    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-29/alomes-why-hawthorn-supporters-boo-adam-goodes/6507282

…The pattern of Hawthorn supporters booing Goodes – and they may not be the only ones – brings a rare political note into footy.

Why is this happening in the game that expresses Australian social democracy at its best, the game that puts aside class, religion, ethnicity, race and most other things (although not always gender or sexual preference) for the shared experience of the players and that of the fans?

The most logical speculation is that the booing mixes two elements: residual racism and political reaction.

Let’s bring two unmentionables into footy: class and politics. Hawthorn’s supporter base has many fans from the upper middle classes, good boys and girls from private schools and with good bank accounts. Sometimes, with class goes conservatism. They may not like Goodes’ political radicalism on Indigenous issues and they may feel fortified by the idea that politics should be kept out of football.

In other words, the racism is political and perhaps class-based as well…

I don’t understand why anyone would call Goodes a wanker of boo him, of have a sense of ill will towards him.

Possibly he’s outspoken, and that’s fair enough. He has an opportunity to use his status to provide some observations from an aboriginal perspective. He talks about dispossession and his mixed feelings about Australia Day. Who could possibly begrudge his that?

He took offence when a young girl insulted him, she was probably parroting her parents. More good than harm in that action.

Hawthorn is a privileged area and their supporters are mainly Liberal voting tossers and wannabes. It isn’t surprising that they’d target Goodes, he’s unlikely to aspire to be part of that crowd.

Apparently Eddie McGuire has also blundered in. This is unsurprising – he has a Collingwood/Broadmeadows background so he’s particularly dull in intellect.

I’m not a 100% fan of Goodes, but targeting him for special booing, and criticising him for doing something indigenous during the indigenous round is quite wrong.

“I don’t understand why anyone would call Goodes a wanker or boo him, or have a sense of ill will towards him.”

A lot of people don’t like Goodes. Either those people have certain reasons for their feelings towards him, or they’re all racist.

That seems to be the dichotomy we’re being offered.

  44. May 31, 2015 6:47 pm

Last night, The crowd at Adelaide Oval were in raptures over Eddie Betts, Charlie Cameron and Cam Ellis-Yolmen. They booed Fremantle players with vigour.

It had more to do with Team (tribal) pride than any sense of racism.

Having said that, cunts like Bolt making hay out of Goodes’ (as he’s done ever since he came on Bolt’s odd radar when a ‘leftist’ PM made him Australian of the Year [shoulda been Prince Harry or some other hereditary conservative icon, perhaps]) every move is transparent, unconvincing and more than a little bit pathetic; unfortunately he presses the buttons which make his horde rankle.

Illegal””’tobacco stashed behind fake CCTV camera

    17:00 Saturday 23 May 2015

A shop director and the firm he worked for have been ordered to pay more than £4,000 in fines and costs after a crackdown on the sale of illicit tobacco in the New Hall Lane area of Preston.

A stash of 416 illegal products were found in a secret hinged panel behind a fake CCTV camera in the Krakow store.

Sabir Sadiq, 30, of Mercer Street, Preston, was the director of Wiejska Chata Ltd, which ran Krakow and Wiejska Chata at the time of some of the offences, and was found guilty of two counts of selling tobacco products without health warnings.

He must pay a £165 fine, £20 surcharge and £598 costs while Preston Magistrates’ Court ordered the firm to pay a £1,200, £120 surcharge and £2,000 costs, after being convicted of four similar offences.

The bench heard trading standards officers visited Krakow four times between May and October 2014.

In the first, a Polish-speaking volunteer bought a packet which had been kept behind some vegetables on a shelf.”””””””””

Perhaps you need to re-educate yourself on the actual circumstance around that event tosy.

For anyone who thinks the booing of Goodes is because of racism

I agree with that, he got booed because he just kicked a goal against their team, and rubbed their noses in it. Expecting the opposition cheer squad to cheer for you in that situation is fucken ridiculous.

WHY HAS HE NEVER BEEN CHARGED WITH GROOMING?

Because even caps locks doesn’t lend any credence to that kangaroo dipshits blatherings?

He took offence when a young girl insulted him, she was probably parroting her parents. More good than harm in that action.

And a lot of good do come out of that. And, the way Goodes treated the girl in the aftermath shows that the understanding goes both ways. I recall him saying how hos heart sank when he realised who it was he had just pointed out, but it was done by then. And he supported her well imo after the fact.

Apparently Eddie McGuire has also blundered in.

He has no other way of entering anything does he, bar by blundering.

They booed Fremantle players with vigour.

But also cheered them, and Fyfe and Dangerfield’s epic match up. Supporters (most) recognose a good match up when they see it. And I haven’t seen something like that in a long time (Granted, I haven’t really watched footy for a while, because, to me, the games are so sterile)

It’s quite easy to explain Ross, And I would, but Andrew Elder does it so much better

This was a significant moment in Australian political and journalistic history; Abbott should have been politically dead, but he is Prime Minister today because Peter Hartcher, those who report to him, and their counterparts in other organisations, went along with the idea that Abbott had to be taken at his word – whatever that word was.

    http://andrewelder.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/that-hartcher-piece.html

We see it daily, If a lib politician states something, it is simply repeated, with the assumption being that it is correct, no matter how often it proven not to be. yabot is simply the most visible example, but it goes for any lib pollie. And the opposite is the case for Labor, where every utterance is put through the doubt grinder, re-evaluated and had aspersions cast upon it, until everything they say is taken with a grain of salt. The outright bullshit pedalled in this budget and swallowed whole by the media is outstanding in it’s sweep, and, as time will show, is probably just as hurtful as last years budget, it is just sold (with the back bending support of the msm) far better.

As things get bogged down again in Parliament, hopefully this will all become plain. Time will tell I guess.

Division is in the eye of the beholder, bigots and racists who can’t accept an aboriginal man standing up proudly and defiantly for aboriginal people. Perhaps it’s the fans who are the problem. If they can’t come to the indigenous round without showing some respect for an indigenous player, his heritage and his way of celebrating a terrific goal, they shouldn’t be there at all. Perhaps they are motivated to come just so they can racially vilify and abuse under cover of team barracking?

…I loved the dance. I love that Adam Goodes expressed himself in that way and that we got to see a bit of culture at the football. I can’t believe anyone would take offence at that. Interesting that people who are constantly vilified are expected to be polite about it. Players (and fans) defy rules and laws every round and the commentators say it’s all part of the game. The double standards are breathtaking. Everyone, including fans need to take some responsibility for their behaviour and the impact it has on others. I have stopped going to the football because I can’t stand the behaviour of fans.

What the blazes was the objection to Goodes’ dance? A display of aggression? Did he hit someone? Did he directly threaten to do so? Did he even denigrate anyone?
In a sporting culture which condones viciously nasty sledging in cricket, as well as bowling ‘bouncers’ capable of inflicting serious injury – even death, tolerates ‘spear tackles’ in the NRL, as well as illegal ‘biffo’, plays against NZ teams for whom the Haka is an opening to every game, one bloke does a traditional ‘war dance’ and we have minor meltdown. He just happens to be an outspoken defender of Aboriginal rights, as well as a very fine player and a former Australian of the Year. Not a racist attack – not much!

“We’ve just got to help educate society better so it doesn’t happen again.”

What Goodes said after the event, and what he actually did on the spur of the moment, are two different things. For Goodes to say he didn’t realise who he was calling out is complete crap, and easily disproven by the video. You would have no idea what the girl intended, but what came out of her was racist.

I taught my kids about racism and skin colour from toddlers, it is something you do if you care about others as people. She was old enough to know better IMO, let alone scream it out to a player right in front of her as an insult because she was angry her team was being beaten.

Racism has nothing to do with wealth or celebrity, it is the colour of the skin [again, for those who can’t ‘geddit’] You can have all the money in the world and just one insult for something you have absolutely no control over, the colour of your skin and you are instantly demeaned and degraded to your core.

Really, Goodes wasn’t driving a bloody car, he was playing footy. His attention is on the game, not people in the crowd, until they made themselves unable to be ignored. It’s not hard to understand that when you are focused on something, and hear something else out of what you are focused on, you will not immediately get a complete picture of that other event.

He heard abuse, he called it, and then realised her age. Not that it matters, he should call it regardless. His actions in the aftermath however show his real metal.

The comments of some here today reveal something altogether different

There was only one wrong as far as I can see and it’s not on the part of the victim, you know, the person who was racially abused while playing sport.

Poor little white girl with very bad manners has become the cause celebre for white superiority, for those who think aboriginal australians should just shut up, do nothing and tolerate open racial vilification, lest they ‘divide’ the community.
Her feelings are paramount here as he has money and celebrity status 🙄 Cold comfort I think.

Goodes would have been insulted in the most vile terms for his whole life, he’s decided he’s not putting up with it in any circumstances. Good for him.

I wasn’t that keen on him pointing to the girl, but I can understand why he would do that.

…and don’t blame Goodes for the police detailing her.
    ————
Apologists say Goodes is a great footballer, who stages for frees – that’s why he gets booed. Matthew Lloyd was world class at that, but I don’t recall him getting the same level of opprobrium.

There’s a racist element to the Goodes criticism, but not all the critics are racists, however their rational, football informed arguments are latched on to by the racists.

The Not-So-Level Playing Field: Why We Love Cathy Freeman And Hate Adam Goodes:

…Freeman has been rewarded for her generosity of spirit many times over (her athleticism and humility, admittedly, helped). She is today, literally, a National Living Treasure.

Adam Goodes, by contrast, takes a very different approach, and gets a very different response.

Goodes directly challenges the Australian story. He confronts us about our racism, and about our past. He reminds us that we took the children away, that we engineered dire poverty which endures today, that we stole Aboriginal land and Aboriginal wages, and that we continue to discriminate against the First Peoples of this land…

…Goodes’ occasional challenges to racism grind and burn at mainstream Australia. But Freeman’s act complimented our national story. It was an act of reconciliation – ‘I love both flags, I love both people’ – and allowed us to feel precisely the way we collectively like to see ourselves: as a tolerant and inclusive nation, where everyone is equal, regardless of their race, religion or sex.

The fact is, we can’t just pick and choose the parts of our national story that we suit. You can’t have reconciliation without truth. And it’s those truths, and Goodes’ role in speaking them, that brings into sharp focus the importance of his approach…

Even abbott keeps up the fiction of aboriginal denial continuing to say that australia was uninhabited or nothing before white man came along. There’s also a lot of influential people who refuse to allow aboriginal history to flourish, think of the farmers [and miners] who have stolen their lands and continue to deny aboriginal heritage.

There’s not much of a gap from where I look either tomM.
Labor’s gutless voting with the libs on legislation and their ongoing lurch to the right with the libs is the reason I went to the greens years ago. Neither of the two majors are protecting us from being corporatised, they are both welded to it. While at the same time they are both allowing our civil rights and freedoms to be eroded at the behest of corporations.

… jobs, health, welfare, and education,..

They might be better than the libs [who want it all completely privatised] but they are complicit in the gradual decline of it all. The neoliberal labor is the same as neoliberal liberal to me. All I hear from the two is the labor – jobs, jobs, jobs mantra and the libs productivity – productivity, productivity mantra.

Neither of them are thinking of how we are doing as a society, they are only focused on the economy and causing irreparable harm to our own environment while they do so.

And there are substantive issues that are just blithely ignore by the mainstream media, and an Australian population that is obsessed with real estate and reality TV.

    Doncha luv hypocrisy …

The Courier-Mail has published serious allegations against Member of Parliament Rick Williams, and does not do so lightly having invested considerable time investigating the claims.

The Courier-Mail is satisfied there are reasonable grounds to justify further investigation and has chosen to publish so the Queensland public is made aware of the serious claims — and we stress they are only claims at this stage.

But as an MP Mr Williams’ role is to serve Queensland and members of the public are entitled to be fully aware of all relevant facts so they can make an assessment as to whether he is worthy of their vote. As a member of Parliament’s Legal Affairs and Community Safety Committee, Mr Williams is also involved in the oversight of police.

The strength of the state’s system of government depends on the quality of our politicians. Their integrity is as important as their skill as parliamentarians.

The Queensland public must have confidence MPs are of impeccable character.

Throughout the investigation The Courier-Mail has maintained an open mind. Statutory declarations were obtained, corroborating evidence tested and Mr Williams given the opportunity to respond.

The Courier-Mail stands ready and willing to co-operate with Queensland police if necessary.

The public can now judge and our system will be the better for it.

Lots of “allegations” and dropped charges here … did the CM go to the cops … nah … and Sprinborg? … is a Dickhead of the highest magnitude!

Yea, he spelt Kouk wrong 🙂

  319. June 3, 2015 5:45 pm

l just checked kouk, yep, sure 17.5% of white-market baccy sales are down since nanny roxon`s military-grade packaging came in. Kouk`s previous baccy post refers to Aust Burro of Surveys data, which is always true, correct, and believable, just check their un/employment numbers. As military-grade packaging is a roaring success, the `team` should apply it to booze and junk-food which are the cause of other health problems too.

Anyway it is useless posting on Bolt. After the leftist/socialists censored Bolt his blog is useless. It takes hours for the posts to appear if ever. All the comments have to be moderated because lefties do not like Bolt.

  324. June 3, 2015 6:44 pm

    Nice try though YomM, seriously.

The odd, semi-balanced commenter that does get through there tends to make the retorts of Bolt’s gargoyles apoplectic. Even though three quarters ignore good sense, there is the odd one there who may actually pay attention to a divergent, sensible analysis.

    Go YomM.

It would be amusing to see you post a comment on one of his regular Union Bashing Threads. You’d be likely to get high fives, arse-licking & fawning comments in response. Says heaps.

    TB

I watched the latest episode of HBO’s version of Thrones two days ago, with another book reader (my daughter)…then we watched it again last night.

They’ve gone beyond the end of the last released book and are now treading (awesome) ground! One of the best episodes ever. I don’t say that lightly.

Winter Is Here…bitches. All of the poltical intrigue, war & murder South of The Wall has always been a distraction from the True Threat.

Won’t say any more now in case you (probably?) haven’t seen it.

  327. June 3, 2015 6:54 pm

Kneel’s just having a cum to jebus bolt moment.

  328. June 3, 2015 6:56 pm

My neighbour’s just dropped round with GoT on a USB stick for my better half. I guess I’m going to be subjected to it tonight.

He also put “It Follows” on it too.

Which is quite a good movie, apparently….

  329. June 3, 2015 7:04 pm

“Kneel’s just having a cum to jebus bolt moment.”

Bolt is likely a ‘jesus-like’ figure to Kneel.

Please, Kneel, articulate your views on jesus and Bolt to me. I’m sick of you using my name in misattribution.
Put your money where your fucking mouth is.

“My neighbour’s just dropped round with GoT on a USB stick for my better half. I guess I’m going to be subjected to it tonight.”

    I don’t relish its popularity.

The books have been around for a very long time.

But, I do have some admiration with the job HBO is doing with ‘interpreting’ such volumes into a visual medium.

Haven’t ‘not known’ what was coming for the last several years, but now find myself in that place…and it’s exciting/trepidatious again.

Thanks for the heads up … I haven’t watched the latest GoT at all – I have the first ep on my desktop …

I’ve got 333 films on Plex and with the recordings on the Topfield we are swamped with entertainment …

Recommend Plex … the new version is really good … I just pointed to all the main film file and it gathered ’em up and gave them the proper title and cover and blurb …

Really easy on the Smart TV …

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

He also put “It Follows” on it too.

Which is quite a good movie, apparently….

I read that somewhere recently … if I recall there was a review about San Andreas too …

    4 stars ToSY..

If you like an action movie on steroids and special effects you’ll leave satisfied.

Don’t expect too much character or plot development.. Not that that really matters with a movie like this…

“there was no CGI used, so all the stunts are “real”.

That’s not entirely true, while most of the stunts r real, there’s obviously some digital manipulation involved, but it’s still definitely worth the trip.

  342. June 3, 2015 8:21 pm

,b>Networks reject Julia Gillard telemovie starring Rachel Griffiths because ‘everyone hates’ the former PM

TV networks have rejected a telemovie starring Rachel Griffiths as Australia’s first female prime minister because “everyone hates Julia Gillard; no one is remotely interested in her”.
That’s the view of one major broadcaster, according producer Richard Keddie.

limited news”””””””THE Australian Government is close to admitting defeat on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the massive and controversial trade deal aimed at uniting 40 per cent of the global economy.

”Look, it`s getting .. it`s getting quite problematic in the United States,” Trade Minister Andrew Robb said today, referring to a Democrats revolt against President Barak Obama on the issue.

He said the negotiators were just a week away from settling the agreement but the TPP needed the backing of the US President to survive. And US House of Representatives was stalling.

Mr Robb told ABC radio: ”If it`s not dealt with in the next two or three weeks I think it`s .. we`ve got a real problem with the future of the TPP.”

Congress last week refused to give President Obama the power to fast track the deal and his own Democrats were among the TPP`s opponents.

It has been under attack on both sides of the Pacific for the secrecy of its provisions, with Wikileaks earlier this month offering a $100,000 reward for the leaking of the deal`s contents.””””””’via.dunny

#yeah the fcuking tpp is so fcuking GREAT for us, we `can`t` go into it with-out teh-usa. We also don`t have the brains to decide our-selves.

#Let`s hope the dem`s can save obama from himself, and as a `by-product` us too.

Go on say something, you'll feel better...
