Peter Dutton Missing as Christmas Island Chaos creates International Headlines!

****AN EXCLUSIVE GUTTER TRASH INVESTIGATION REPORT EXCLUSIVE****

  • Christmas Island: A complete disaster zone, say witnesses
  • NZ Govt demand answers!
  • ‘It’s just a disturbance in the [border] force,’ says Peter Dutton

The Australian Federal Government’s Christmas Island detention centre is in absolute chaos today after an employee of Serco – the private company contracted by the Government to secure the facility – assaulted a detainee.   The detainee was assaulted by a guard after asking about the death of another detainee over the weekend with witnesses claiming he was “punched in the face.”

According to eye witness accounts, the centre’s canteen has been burnt down, windows smashed, and fences and walls knocked over.  Another said “everything’s on fire.”

A New Zealand detainee, Ricky Downs, told The Gutter Trash that the guards had fled the centre.

“The canteen’s been smashed to pieces, there’s no security, there’s no emergency response team, there’s no border patrol, there’s no guards, there’s nothing,” he said.

“They’ve gone, they’ve freaked out and left.”

The riots come after the death of the Iranian Kurdish asylum seeker, named by refugee groups as seeker Fazel Chegeni.  His body was found on Sunday after he escaped from the centre on Friday.

The New Zealand Government is reportedly investigating the meltdown after reports of New Zealanders being mistreated at the detention centre came to light in recent weeks.

Despite the unfolding chaos, Australia’s Immigration Minister the much maligned former policeman Peter Dutton is yet to offer any clarification with the department only issuing a statement that there has been a “disturbance” at the facility.

However The Gutter Trash understands that the detainees have taken full control of the facility.

It’s understood the detention centre’s security guards have fled the facility amongst the mayhem.

Detainees are now said to be huddled together fearing for reprisals when the guards return.

    One can hardly blame them.

The use of force by guards against detainees in Australia’s onshore immigration detention centres has soared in the past two years after a “streamlined” approval process was introduced.

Incident logs obtained by Guardian Australia that list every reported “use of force” at all mainland detention centres and Christmas Island reveal that the rate of reported incidents per 1,000 detainees rose from 2.6 in January 2013 to 70.3 in March 2015.

Brings back memories when Labor said Christmas Island was a white elephant because it was empty.

    http://www.smh.com.au/national/mp-labels-island-detention-centre-a-waste-of-money-20080708-3bwi.html

THE head of a parliamentary committee visiting the new $396 million detention centre on Christmas Island says he is flabbergasted at the waste of public money spent on it.

Melbourne Ports Labor MP Michael Danby said the 800-bed facility — which is currently empty — resembled a stalag,……..Mr Danby said the money spent on the facility was “grandiose” given “the most they’ve had on the island are groups of 40 to 50”

Those were the days before Labor abolished the Pacific Solution and our detention centers were empty.

    IT’S TIME

Will Labor move on it’s refugee policy?

There is no doubt, it is electoral poison (sad as it is to acknowledge) but, with the libs tying themselves in knots with the GST non debate, will Shorten get a backbone in this area and make a positive move.

My moneys still on NO 😦

No matter how much we need to

What a complete and utter true description of Dutton you have described. “It is that Band of desperate, Terrorist Kiwi’s that are causing all the trouble”. I am sure, as like Abbott, he has half a brain. Heck, how do voters promote such Idiots ?

Hi Alco, nice name by the way. It reminds me of my father!

But I have to point out that this is a family site, and we don’t use cuss language like – “heck”

I don’t trust the Guardian but i flicked through the article and it said things like this

The use of force is also recorded for a large number of asylum seekers who attempted self-harm.

“Unplanned use of force used on detainee who self-harmed, from further injury to himself and others and taken to NWP medical clinic.”
“Detainee was self-harming by hitting his head against a wall. Use of force required to prevent injury.”

So force was used to prevent self harm and to prevent injury. What is the problem?

The refugee who died on Christmas Island was languishing in detention after former Perth magistrate Barbara Lane sentenced him to a jail term later found to be “manifestly excessive”.

And then there’s this little gem!

But in July, further documents from IHMS obtained by Guardian Australia revealed a change in policy that would send asylum seekers and refugees requiring advanced medical care to the Pacific International hospital in the Papua New Guinean capital, Port Moresby, and not to Australia.

    http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2015/oct/20/scott-morrison-voiced-opposition-to-late-term-abortion-in-2014-asylum-case

I wouldn’t go there for a fkn bandaid! Let alone send someone there to have a baby!

These people are incompetent or simply malicious …

Either way they should be fired … next time Dopey Dutton has a pimple on his shiny arse send him to Port Moresby!

    Bunch of fkn religious morons!

Go on say something, you'll feel better...
