Internal War Erupts as the Liberals go Postal over Same Sex Marriage!
The far right and marginally less far right of the Liberal Party are set to slog out the battle over same sex marriage at a meeting that’s been hastily convened by so-called “leader” Malcolm Turnbull.
The Canberra show down is set for Monday at 4:00pm.
Bizarrely, but perhaps not unsurprisingly, given his propensity to buckle under the slightest hint of pressure with the intestinal fortitude of a damp lettuce leaf, Talcum, as he is affectionately known amongst the velvet slipper and twin-set brigade of inner Wentworth, has decreed that he won’t actually participate in the meeting.
Instead he’ll leave the actual bloodletting to take place between Liberal moderates led by same sex marriage advocate Warren Entsch and the barely repressed rabid mongrels on the right spearheaded by Tony Abbott and Eric Abetz.
Leadership aspirant, and who we may as well call the Prime Minister anyway, given that the incumbent has more or less given up on the role, the always affable Peter Dutton has suggested that the whole thing go postal, a clever ruse to give those most likely to oppose same sex marriage – crusty old middle class Coalition-voting property owners – a greater sway in influencing the result.
Of course, the postal vote still carries the risk of being influenced by ‘public opinion’ or what’s commonly known as democracy, so plan B is to simply ignore the postal plebiscite should it not deliver the outcome the antediluvian homophobes are hoping for.
Which makes you wonder why a $40 million postal vote is being considered in the first place.
The fact that it’s supported by the likes of Dutton, Abetz and Abbott sends a clear signal that it’s designed to deliver a “NO” outcome.
Of course, the hilarity in all of this, has to be when former Prime Minister Tony Abbott insisted earlier this week that a failure to deliver the plebiscite would be “breaking a pact with the electorate to honour an election promise.” Humour isn’t Abbott’s strong point but the irony was lost on him.
Since that brain fart, it’s been revealed that Abbott previously declared that the plebiscite was “dead, buried and cremated” when it failed to win parliamentary approval last time around. So it’s kind of odd, but not surprising, that he’s thrown his support behind it, given that the alternative is the shocking possibility that MPs could actually do what they’re elected to do and have a free vote in Parliament.
The whole thing’s spiralling out of control with senior sources telling The Gutter Trash that even if this issue can be settled and the moderates placated, the party will plunge headlong into another split, this time over energy and with the conservatives leading the revolt.
In the interim, I suggest investing in popcorn shares.

Just posting this here because it’s pretty bloody funny… 🙂

LOL!
Should make for an interesting party room meeting tomorrow. Will be interesting to see if the moderates get up, they’ve certainly made enough noise about it.
I don’t think any of the LNP know how to get it up … bunch of fkn whimps!
Aaaaand, they’re sticking with their current policy. Like a dinosaur stuck in a tar pit, thrashing a bit and going nowhere but down
… that this is the hill they’re going to die on.
Let’s call it Calvary … god rest all their souls …
“Like a dinosaur stuck in a tar pit, thrashing a bit and going nowhere but down”
Leaders don’t break promises, says Turnbull..
This is going to be his legacy:
1. stuffing up the NBN
2. doing nothing on climate change
3. doing on nothing on marriage equality
I wonder how he can even face himself in the mirror. 😯
I think the funniest thing about this is if howard hadn’t played silly buggers all those years ago, his mob wouldn’t currently be tearing themselves apart doing nothing now
Priceless
reb
The legacy of the LNP since 2013 has been to
1) Tell the most lies to get elected in the first place
2) Break every promise made
3) Attack the minorities and those at the bottom while gifting those at the top
4) Trash anything Gillard instituted,
5) Bully the senate,
6) Remove their own PM after claiming to never lower themselves to that level
7) Hold an election we didn’t need costing hundreds of millions of dollars
8) Almost lose the election we didn’t need
9) Repeat No 3 again and again with the assistance of Murdoch

Alarm bells’: former ABS head says gay marriage postal vote is not the agency’s job

Weak Harbourside Puppet
Asked at his news conference, ”Isn`t a postal plebiscite just a way to have the parliament follow? Why aren`t you leading?”, Turnbull replied: ”Strong leaders carry out their promises. Weak leaders break them. I`m a strong leader.”
It was an unconvincing ”Me Tarzan” moment.

Power is like being a lady… if you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.
If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing.
What the actual?
Lobbyists on both sides of the marriage equality debate will be free to distribute misleading and deceptive material ahead of the same-sex marriage postal vote, because the usual campaign rules have been discarded.
In order to circumvent the Senate, the Turnbull government’s optional marriage survey will be conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, meaning the safeguards of the Commonwealth Electoral Act would not apply.

“………why Turnbull’s postal plebiscite is such a terrible failure of leadership. ”
That’s funny. Weren’t both Shorten and Wong members of the Gillard and Rudd governments who refused to do ANYTHING about SSM.
At least the LNP have a butchered plan. Not what everyone wanted as an outcome but one which gets it “off the table”. Its upto the SSM advocates to put their case. Sure some of the LNP MPs still probably wont vote for it if “Yes” wins but enough will to ensure it passes.
Of course we never do hear much about the ALP MPs with large anti SSM electorate………….Burke…………..Bowen etc
Everyone knows a possible PM Shorten just wants to bring it in as his personal trophy.
And here’s Gillard 20 March 2011.
“I think for our culture, for our heritage, the Marriage Act and marriage being between a man and a woman has a special status…………”Now, I know people might look at me and think that’s something that they wouldn’t necessarily expect me to say, but that is what I believe……….”I’m on the record as saying things like I think it’s important for people to understand their Bible stories, not because I’m an advocate of religion – clearly, I’m not – but once again, what comes from the Bible has formed such an important part of our culture.”
Let me repeat one bit…………..LOL
“…..but once again, what comes from the Bible has formed such an important part of our culture.”
I expect the endlessly outraged “snowflake” from Queensland to defend Gillard.
But hang on he never reads my posts anyway LOL.
In fact there’s hardly anyone left on here these days
“In fact there’s hardly anyone left on here these days”
Maybe you could invite all your friend along to join in.
What happened to ToM and that pest NoS ?
Don’t know.
And now I introduce Penny Wong…………….
“On the issue of marriage I think the reality is there is a cultural, religious, historical view around that which we have to respect,” she told Network Ten on Sunday.
“The party’s position is very clear that this is an institution that is between a man and a woman.”
I’ll just repeat a l’il bit
“…….here is a cultural, religious, historical view around that which we have to respect,”
So dont give me that crap about the ALP being better than the LNP.
Neither has cred on the issue but at least we are seeing some sort of foggy pathway to getting there by the LNP but yet again the SSM advocates dont want a bar of it………………………..Hypocrits …………it’s all about the Team not the Principle with you Lefties
Nah blubbrz, its an `own-goal` by talkbull, most won`t even vote, voters know the zombies won`t pass gay marriage even `if` it was 100%-yes.
Voters also know they didn`t have a `poll` when john-w slammed his jackboot down on gays throats over marriage; on natives throats over `sorry`; or on NT citizens throats over voluntary euthanasia; tho john-w would have incinerated treasury to stop any one of them.
The ghost of john-w stalks talkbull today on gay marriage; and the ghost of john-w will stalk talkbull tomorrow over voluntary euthanasia as the state/s pass it. The ghosts name is rabbit.

Can Christians marry Jews yet? ‘Cause they couldn’t in 339AD … the book I’m reading now is a history of Jerusalem – Jews, Christians and Moslems … it is horrendous …
Respect? GMAFB!
Its 2017 …

And I forgot death by boiling water!
BTW not a fan of Gillard in many things … or Rudd and commented at the time …
Everybody here seems to think the poll will get off the ground. l`m not so sure the multi-court challenges will all fail myself. On TV wilkie seem to make several good points, and others probably will too.
I’m almost tearful with the idea that I have to participate in a public opinion poll that will determine whether I’m deserving enough to enjoy the same rights as others simply due to my sexuality.
It’s dehumanising and humiliating, and without wishing to sound melodramatic it reeks of pre-Nazi Germany.
This is where we have been led to as a society and a nation under the Turnbull government.
I won’t forget this lightly, and I imagine I’m not alone in feeling this way.
Gay people, our friends, families and people who abhor this sort of discrimination and government funded vilification won’t forget this lightly.
My only hope is that Turnbull’s conduct in this regard will be rewarded in kind at the ballot box at the next election.
Weren’t both Shorten and Wong members of the Gillard and Rudd governments who refused to do ANYTHING about SSM.

Vote YES!
Expecting some protest marches if the shit hits the fan … (with any luck it’ll hit The Mad Abbott!)

That will no doubt come later..
Right now, I just feel sad and deflated.
I can’t believe this is what Australia has been reduced to.
First they came for the Muslims… etc etc..
sreb, did you read the rest of my comment?
“””Just remember this … the majority of Australians are with the LGBTI members of our society … “””
Yeah I know. But the fact that this whole thing is being sanctioned by the govt is jaw dropping.
I didn’t really feel like a 2nd class citizen b4 the survey was announced, but now I definitely do. That’s the sad part. It’s degrading.
l agree reb, the zombies `do` go thru the routine of queer stomping, boatie stomping, worker stomping, etc, etc. Don`t let it get you prematurely dejected or depressed. Wilkie might just stomp the zombies poll and save folks the misery.

We will argue the Government cannot validly undertake a postal vote and also
that it cannot fund the exercise without parliamentary approval.
Mr Hunyor said the Australian Bureau of Statistics
didn`t have the authority to hold the postal vote
as gay marriage wasn`t a statistical issue.
# ,, no authority to waste the cash, no authority to waste dept-resources

Good morning teabags. lf the wilkie/court stuff FAILS and the `optional` marriage `poll` goes ahead. l will not be badgering co-workers, neighbors, family or friends that aren`t going to vote, (like an outraged feminista trainy trainy team swooning convention) l will merely ask them if l can take `custody` of their `unwanted` polling papers. #wink.wink

Hoping to make you smile.
How about we all wipe our arse with the form and then mail them back to Tony Abbott at Parliament House.
A good skiddy of shit for someone who resembles same, it could be our bowel screening deposit ( if we are arrested) 🙂

SHOCKING homophobic comments made by the Turnbull government minister now in charge of the agency which will conduct the gay marriage postal vote have come back to haunt him.

Tom R
There will be much dragging up of history from both sides I think. My father was a terrible bigot until he found out there were gays in the family. Then he realised that they were not something to be feared or hated like his religion had told him all these years.
He woke up to the fact that they were exactly the same and all around us in all walks of life.
Hell one of the farmers he wool classed for came out after being married for 29 years and 4 kids, and dressed in womens clothes with the big fake nails and high heel shoes. Was hilarious to see him out changing a tractor tyre with grease all over his dress and broken nails.
The point is people do change their minds and do regret comments they made many years ago. I choose to take what they are saying now, not what they said 20 years ago. I will not crucify McCormack for comments made that long ago.
“And the Closet Catholic strikes again I see …”
As usual no answer to the hypocrisy that I pointed to in my post……………..just the usual bluster and bigotry about a particular religion.
Why am I not surprised.
By the way……….the woman on the left was brought up Catholic
A double dose of Tony Abbott is sure to fuck up your day LOL
HOW TO MAKE AUSTRALIA A TARGET!
So where is the referendum? Or even a plebiscite? Not even a “government postal survey”?
Hypocrisy? Double standards?
What a fuckwit!

“How about we all wipe our arse with the form”
It’s certainly a novel concept.
But to be sure, I’d probably throw some anthrax into the envelope too.
“As usual no answer to the hypocrisy that I pointed to in my post”
I think you’ll find that I was very vocal about Julia Gillard and Penny Wong’s position on ssm a few years ago.
Times have changed and attitudes towards ssm have changed in the space of just a few short years with many other developed nations adopting ssm.
Heck, even Angela Merkel who is personally opposed allowed a free vote in Parliament and it passed without any fuss.
Only a narrow minded individual would stick to their guns while the rest of the world moves on.
“I think you’ll find that I was very vocal about Julia Gillard and Penny Wong’s position….”
I wasn’t referring to you…………but rather someone north of the Tweed who has trouble accepting the hypocrisy of his “team” when they has so many opportunities whilst in Office.
If I can be bothered I’ll vote Yes. It has no effect on me whatsoever.
Just to get on with other stuff
reb
I just hope the paper is soft, because there is nothing worse than coarse dunny paper 🙂
Anthrax will negate any excuse for a bowel cancer test.
Still amazes me Turnbull has stuck with this as it truly will be his Achilles heel and he will have his legs cut from underneath him at the next election.
TB
We only have plebiscites when the religious right want them on things that they want to see stay illegal. John Howard unilaterally changed the marriage act without any need to waste hundreds of millions of dollars or seeking the right of the public to have their say. We are never asked about wage increases for MPs or whether they should go to jail for theft when found rorting the system.
I don’t recall being asked whether we should go to war with North Korea…
I guess ssm is a more dangerous prospect. 😯
Watching on ABC News 24 that 200 refugees will be settled in Armidale. Barnaby ion the background looks as excited about it as a bowel movement. Probably cant force any more PS to move form Canberra through his pork barrelling exercises that have no cost benefit analysis.
“I guess ssm is a more dangerous prospect.”
I’m scared
I think you’ll find that I was very vocal about Julia Gillard and Penny Wong’s position on ssm a few years ago.
And so did I … and Gillard’s treatment of welfare for single mums …
But as has been commented earlier both sides of politics have a shameful past on the issue of ssm … but the past and the present antagonism towards ssm has and is being driven by religious zealotry and bigotry … no other reason … no other reason … no other reason …
Who governs the country – the Vatican or the People of Australia … The Mad Abbott or TurnAbbott?
History tells us that religions of all colours and concepts have caused more pain and suffering than any natural disaster … “beliefs” in gods or a god is fine, just keep the fairytale to yourself and don’t foist “your” belief on others and make them miserable …
The Tories in the LNP are going to bring this government to its knees …
Cori Bernadi will vent his spleen about opening up our society to polygamy, paedos and beastality as usual and the Left will go all anti Christian blah blah blah.
I mean in the end when we finally gave women the vote did we then openly discuss perhaps letting dogs and cats vote too ?
TB
Abbott and the conservative so called Christians are governing us through fear, something the catholic church has been an expert at for many years. I would like a dollar for every time I was told I would burn in hell or be in purgatory for ever in the afterlife. The catholic god only became a god of love and forgiveness after Vatican II. Before that he was a god of hellfire and damnation. My grandmother ensured that the old god lived on in my families lives well after Vatican II and Tony and his like minded nutters also seem to be living before Vatican II. Its a wonder he didn’t do a captains pick during his short lived PMship and enforce latin as the main language on the parliament.
As usual no answer to the hypocrisy that I pointed to in my post…
I did 🙂 (maybe not in hte way you appreciated)
Although, Gillards personal abstinence from a stance was quite pathetic, considering her stance on so many many similar issues. It reeked of political pressure from dinosaurs.
But, at least a vote was had.
LNP must be shitting themselves. After claiming that they did not need to do anything about hate during the postal opinion poll, they are now proposing legislation to stop the hatred they claim would not exist. Maybe that is what Barnaby was thinking about.
This is going to tear this government down and it deserves it. Maybe then we will get an RC into the Banks as well ( something the overwhelming majority support). In a way I hope the post poll actually happens.

l agree shane, there really is not a political upside for the zombies outside the zombie party room. Bloody amazing, the RBA has criticised the banks ( especially the CBA ) for having a culture of sales over service. ASIC is also investigating.
Staff and their UNION could tell and was telling these fucking idiots, 15 fucking years ago that this was happening and evolving.
But rather the staff were made redundant, considered dead wood, old school, unable to cope with the change and the Union a left wing bag of nutters who need to be destroyed at all costs. Began with David Murray !!!!!.
Yep the fucking imported management and super fund shareholders who were pals with management knew better than the long term loyal staff.
Now the Bank is tarnished, its reputation shot and facing an RC hopefully it has shit in its own nest and deserves everything it gets. Amazing staff churn in comparison to 15 years ago. No career progression, outsiders brought in all the time.

Shane, the NAB has had a “culture” of sales over service for at least a decade that I know of … their Performance Appraisals” are based on sales – NOT service …
And I don’t know where they get their “management” “team” from … but it reminds me of James Hardies’ (full of incompetent engineers and chemists) … where NAB is full of incompetent accountants … not a professional manager amongst ’em …
TB
It all began when the CBA was sold off, all the big 4 began this same culture of sales and profit, irrespective of a clients actual needs. Cohen Brown was the culture imported from the USA by the NAB and then taken up by the CBA. Went on for years with our banks making massive payments to the company for each and every sale achieved while using their push and push and ask and badger culture from that bastion of sales culture the USA.

Exactly. And let’s not forget, SA (and Aus generally) has a lack of power generation capacity (renewable or other) simply because of obbotts ant-renewable stance.

http://department.monm.edu/cata/McGaan/Classes/Scat302/Groupthk-symptoms.htm
I must say one thing though and that is that this culture began long before Narev became CEO he just kept going with the model he inherited.
As a management troubleshooter for more than one national company … I disagree, Shane … under the circumstances Narev was employed, it was his DUTY to stop the rot … if not he and the Chair of the Board at the very least should be CHARGED …
… I know Diggers deployed to Iraq, Syria and – oddly enough Afghanistan! Supplying resources to the enemy is treason …
Not that this government understands the concept wrapped up in profiteering themselves …
BTW, you may have a touch of Groupthink!
And as Shane says, no doubt he’ll walk away with a $40m golden handshake.
Just like the bastards who were responsible for the GFC! (Read: “Too Big To Fail”)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
l`m a strong leader is desperately strongly holding onto strongly his kiwi deputy …
Seems the Labor Party is the only party able to manger its members and the country …
How the fk can to govern a country if you can’t manage your own party and people Mr MAL-f-f-f-f-f-f-f-unction?
“under the circumstances Narev was employed, it was his DUTY to stop the rot … if not he and the Chair of the Board at the very least should be CHARGED …
That’s not my experience.
While we may never know, I suspect the Board simply turned a blind eye, so long as the profits kept rolling in and increased year on year.
Keeping a safe distance allows for plausible deniability.
The fact that he’s been allowed a more than gracious exit confirms they condoned his conduct (and still do).
Detect any PANIC here? (Just into my inbox)
That’s not my experience.
Nor mine … but as “troubleshooter” I had a lot of “bombs” tossed my way!
I suspect the Board simply turned a blind eye,
YES I agree … but boards can be – for want of better word – “educated” to the consequences – and THAT can be unpleasant for the “messenger” too …
Did I ever tell you The Minister once said to me, “I never know if you will come home one night without a job”!
She’s still here after 50 years! Wonderful Lady!
Like reb, l saw narev run the usual pr playbook on reportland and leigh didn`t really get much more. They can always seem to find another rotten fish head to replace the current rotten fish head with. The rotten fish heads continue to get $sqillions off shareholders for doing damage, and now committing/abetting crime. The absence of laws and law-enforcing at the top will one day bite the govt arse so hard, it will only take one kaboom! , both govt and narev has just been lucky so far.

You are spot on , “keeping a safe distance allows for plausible deniability”
Before it was sold our training was called In Focus. Focus on service, Focus on the Customer, Focus on accuracy, Focus on Honesty, Focus on Teamwork.
Then it all changed
Tell your team below you to achieve results but don’t determine how, import selling pressure techniques from the USA, however only discuss actual pressure on staff to achieve results by any means through personal conversation or phone calls, but never in writing, to ensure a trail to the top never existed.
A manager in a country town west of Dubbo was made a terrible scapegoat for the first sales process introduced into the CBA in the 1990s. The loan decisions were made by head office because the manager could not approve the size of these loans, the manager was hailed a hero for exceeding all expectations, shit hit the fan when the economy started to falter, manager sacked, head office guys moved or promoted. The name of the process was called Individual Commitment to Excellence in Selling. ICES.
The board and top management including the CEO could claim plausible deniability simply because they are so removed from reality. They tell the next management line what has to be achieved and then turn a blind eye to anything. Otherwise how can there be systemic failure in Financial Services Arm, Insurance Arm, Austrac Reporting Arm and now nonce again the Insurance Arm (through Credit Card Insurance).
If selling Credit Card Insurance ( to protect you from unemployment or illness from your income) to students and the unemployed who will NEVER qualify for the benefit is rewarded to achieve targets, then the rot has set in from the head down.

CHRISTINE MILNE: They said they would not join the Australian Greens unless they could regard their elected members as delegates to be directed by a committee in NSW and they had no ability of their own to make decisions.
That was really hard-fought and it was apparent that there would be NO Australian Greens unless NSW was given an exemption and therein lies the problem that has been with us for more than 25 years.
BOB BROWN: It’s not just the members who have been cheated there, it’s the voters.
Voters like to have an MP they like the look of getting in and being true to her or his electoral platform and performance.
The NSW Greens don’t trust that or the voters.
http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/stories/2017/08/10/4716390.htm
+++snip+++
# ,, in short, the looney nsw-greenz frighten voters away from aust-greenz
LOUISE MILLIGAN: Former Greens Leader, Christine Milne, is venting years of frustration at her NSW colleagues.
CHRISTINE MILNE: Grassroots democracy in NSW is a smokescreen.
The members in NSW don’t know the half of what goes on.
They only know what a central committee allows them to know.
As the leader of the Australian Greens, I wasn’t able to directly contact the members in NSW.
The central committee in NSW would decide whether it was appropriate that I contact the members, when I could contact them, and they also exercised the right to censor what I had to say.
+++snip+++
The NSW Greens champion consensus – meaning 75 per cent of delegates must agree to a decision for a vote to be carried.
But that means that a quarter of the delegates can, if they organise effectively, block the majority. Lee Rhiannon’s faction is accused of regularly using this tactic.
JUSTIN FIELD, NSW GREENS MLC: You’ll have a few people block just everything as a matter of course.

The body of studies considered for the PIR show that the tobacco plain packaging measure is having an impact by reducing the appeal of tobacco products, increasing the effectiveness of health warnings, and reducing the ability of the pack to mislead. The studies also provide early evidence of positive changes to actual smoking and quitting behaviours.

We have a terrible outbreak of a nasty flu. I had it for 2 weeks myself. The media are asking why are people still going to work when they have the flu, stay at home.
Well there are reasons people now go to work with the flu, even my own sister.
1) Pressure from management to turn up at all costs.
2) Threats of dismissal if taking sick leave.
3) There will be no relief and you will simply have twice the work for the number of days you are away.
4) Casuals do not get sick leave and as a result do not get paid if they stay home.
5) Casuals NEED MONEY to survive and pay bills.
Honestly do these cretins even understand what happens as you casualise and destroy the middle class.
You think it is bad now, it will only get worse year by year.
The blood sucking leeches in Parliament have all had their allowances increased due to cost of living increases in Canberra, while the arseholes lowered Penalty Rates for the likes of my sister on low and casual income.
So sick to death of where our country is heading. The greed of corporations and our politicians knows no boundaries anymore. Not one MP has offered not to accept this increase and give it to the poor or the disabled or charity. Nope just siphon off as much as you can you greedy arseholes.

I detest Pauline Hanson and all One Nation, stands for, sits down for, or lays down for … they are twits of the lowest order … BUT …
… I also detest the burqa …
If overseas female visitors to Islamic countries are expected to show respect by wearing head-covering, because it is offensive to the culture (Hanson got that right it IS NOT a religious requirement) … then …
… Australian culture should be respected by Muslims … we are an OPEN society … and read people’s NVCs and respect women’s right to wear what they want … if they chose a burqa … then their face (70% of NVCs are facial expression) should be exposed …
If Muslims are here to become Australian there should be no problem … if its for “other reasons” then – why come here?

Totally agree I detest the Burqa as well. It is technically not a religious garment. There is no other religious item that deprives people of seeing the face and expressions of intent of those they are interacting with in public.

That’s it in a nutshell!
Why bother with H&S for anything … why have road rules? Think of all the money that could be saved if we scrapped traffic lights!
Get rid of the weapons legislation that too would save money and time … what about bringing back asbestos a great product for high pressure pipes and fireproof buildings and is cheap to use … it just KILLS people!
And why bother with border security – just let everybody decide what to bring into the country – WOW! That would save us a fortune … and who gives a shit about fire ants anyway – stop that program – easy money …
So like Trump its uncanny … reversing an Obama decision to ban all plastic water bottles from 23 National Parks in the USofA … and reducing the size of Heritage Parks and opening them to industry …
What is it with fkn Tories … do they think they are immune to all risk and only the plebs die through their incompetence?
Next we’ll have Gulags … apologies I forgot Manus and Nauru for just a second!
Slash safety testing? I know what needs slashing … the amount these turkeys get paid (for fkn life) …

My Mailwasher incoming has already reduced … thankfully I still get Uncle Dan’s! 😀
Could only watch about 5 mins of Trump rally today. The man is a maniac with a ego of unlimited proportions. His supporters are a frightening bunch that’s for sure. The country is going to the pack and we are following along like the lapdogs we are. Funny how not that many years ago I was an all the way with USA person. Amazing how your opinion changes when actually realise how the majority of their citizens live.
I was an all the way with USA person
Not me I’m afraid … and oddly enough one of the reasons I’m not LNP “friendly” …

BTW, Australia was involved in VN from 1962 to 1972 … Menzies committed us to VN in ’62 … NS in ’64 – Whitlam ended NS in ’72…
63,735 national servicemen served in the Army, of which 15,381 were deployed to Vietnam. Approximately 200 were killed. (I knew two who were killed …served with one in my Training Section – 10 men – three sections in a platoon)
Why don’t Labor get out with their message?
er, TR, please explain?
Be quick, mate, I’m off to Darwin tomorrow … do they have wifi?
Looks like the conservatives have shot themselves in the foot with this plebiscite/opinion poll. The next election will kill them well and truly based on what has happened in the last 24 hours regarding registration and update of details, and it couldn’t happen to a bigger bunch of wankers IMO.

Sorry TB, got distracted, again
Hope it’s not too late, this is what it was about
I am in Penang and it is very hot.
I’m in Adelaide, and it’s fucking freezing
(but on the upside, I’m not in Penang)
To be fair, you can’t drink the tap water here either.
you can’t drink the tap water here either.
🙂
And yet people still wonder what the secret to Coopers is
Good luck to you reb. I am in fact more than a little bit jealous.
APRA establishes inquiry into the CBA.
FFS the staff tried to tell people what would happen after it was sold and how the culture changed from service to greed so many years ago.
It really shits me when these things could have been knocked on the head many years ago, yet we were treated with contempt and disgust.
Nothing short of an RC will stop the culture.
Sadly it was Keating who started the rot by privatising the stable, most trusted, most customer focused, most rural branched peoples asset in the country, the prick.

And then came the stampede of neoliberalism to Australia. I know Lab & Lib have both rushed to enrich themselves and their mates at the expense of the many who did not get looked after when we all got globalised. Paul Keating now says that since 2008, liberal economics have gone nowhere and run into a dead end and says sally mcmanus is right to attack the inequality of today.
sally mcmanus is right to attack the inequality of today.
Only if the law means a lib MP might lose their job, otherwise, OBEY THE LAW!
otherwise, OBEY THE LAW!
I’m looking forward to the revolution and the overturning or reforming of the system where laws and regulations suit the wealthy corporations over the public and workers 😇
I am in Penang and it is very hot.
I’m in Katherine and its quite hot …
… and I don’t want to drink the water 🙂
Could Julie Bishops worst nightmare come back to haunt her. Once again spiteful ideological comments rather than sensible comments could be causing problems in the future. Wish this government would shut its mouth unless it is something real and not imagined communists. Would love to see her eat her words.

Sucks to be bishop right now Shane lol
Talking to friends in the CBA and apparently the problem regarding the reporting of $10,000 transactions conducted by smart ATMS was canvassed a number of times by branch staff during round table discussions over 2 years ago and it was completely ignored over installing them as fast as possible to drive efficiencies and staff reductions. The CBA another disastrous privatisation success story in more ways than one.
Been revealed that in the last 6 years the LNP government in NSW has sold off 20,000 publicly owned properties to private enterprise. Talk about selling us to the highest bidder. They have even admitted that they may have to buy some back in the future. Talk about feathering their donors.
$14,000,000,000 stolen from workers, but lets howl about unions.
Electricity Prices going through the roof (since Privatisation), but lets howl at unions.
CBA (since Privatisation) ignores anti money laundering, but lets howl at unions.
CBA (since Privatisation) has Insurance Scandal, but lets howl at unions.
CBA (since Privatisation) has Financial Services Scandal, but lets howl at unions.
Franchises all over the country steal hundreds of millions form workers, but lets howl at unions.
Building Cladding fires pushed under carpet to maintain profits in the sector, but lets howl at unions.
Housing Affordability becoming a thing of the past, but lets howl at unions.
Wages Rising ( but only for Management and CEOs), but lets howl at unions.
Honestly I and so many others are sick to death of this one sided ideology of epic proportions by the government and Michaelia Cash.
Who is it?
Every week I become more ashamed of being part of the baby boomer generation. I have no doubt in the future we will be remembered as the generation that sold everything our citizens owned to greedy private enterprise. Allowed good wages for the majority to be sacrificed in the name of big business claiming class warfare. Permitted monopoly and duopoly ownership in essential areas. Decimated our wildlife and environment by listening and supporting and allowing the rape and pillage of it by multinationals for short term monetary gain. Used up precious non renewable resources through creating a disposable society for every we make simply to achieve higher and higher sales turnover and profit rather than build items that can be repaired. How those MPs with children and grandchildren care more about their own greed and the greed of their donors than the welfare of their future generations demonstrates the greed driven selfish race we have become.
… the greed driven selfish race we have become.
Some of us have become, Shane … obviously not all …
Keep up the good rants … I agree with 99% of them! 🙂
Me too!
I like the rainbow banner reb.
Me like rainbow banner too!
TB
Problem is that some of us will not enough to change the reputation of the generation in the annuls of history.
