The Coronavirus: Is it going to Kill Us All?

February 25, 2020

Coronavirus

Without wishing to appear melodramatic, we’re all going to die.

That’s the consensus opinion from a myriad of underground experts who have uncovered secret reports from the Chinese Government that the so-called Coronavirus is in fact man made and spreading at an alarming rate so far as yet under-reported in mainstream media.

Apparently, the Chinese Government, renowned for their transparency and front-footed approach to handling crises just like this are keeping the true spread of the virus under wraps.

Anyone who watched the 4 Corners documentary on China’s attempts to contain the virus as it takes hold in the city of Wuhan in the Hubei province will be absolutely shitting themselves.

The share market certainly is.

With news that South Korea and Iran are the next hot spots, the big question is – where will it end and how?

I think you will just have to wait for the Hollywood movie called “My Carona” to find out. Stay indoors until then

I took the plunge and used the garlic cloves in brine which said Made in China on the bottle which I purchased from ALDI.

Yeah I think we are pretty well fucked financially as well………….at least for a few weeks if it keeps spreading especially through Europe plus this thing also appears to have a longer incubation period in some cases so the 14 day travel bans and quarantines might be too low in which case we are fucked again..

This time I didn’t get out. Last time I got out of a shitload I think its was 30 to 40% before it tanked last year. Then I slowly came back in but now I’m caught up in the maelstrom.

It will come back. There are some bargains even now especially looking at Appen and Altium which have both beaten forecasts last week and today but are now getting hammered due to the general consensus.

So I’m waiting to wade in again

I liked the idea of the garlic cloves in brine. They are already peeled so you just have to crush them. But since they come from China I am making sure I use them in dishes which require a lot of heat

But, his plan well and truly backfired and he was forced to go to hospital after his erection lasted three days.”

Yes TB I lost around 3.5% on Day 1 but yesterday I was bizarrely up .85% basically due to Appen blowing their forecasts away (above expectations).

Today will be another bloodbath but if anything holds up reasonably well or goes up it will be Appen (they are heavily into data sets for artificial intelligence)

Elysium or the Elysian Fields (Ancient Greek: Ἠλύσιον πεδίον, Ēlýsion pedíon) is a conception of the afterlife that developed over time and was maintained by some Greek religious and philosophical sects and cults. Initially separate from the realm of Hades, admission was reserved for mortals related to the gods and other heroes.

Etymology. The word holiday comes from the Old English word hāligdæg (hālig “holy” + dæg “day”). The word originally referred only to special religious days. In modern use, it means any special day of rest or relaxation, as opposed to normal days away from work or school.

Old English not Odd American … modern use may be a bit confusing for some …

Labor raided that $20B in those infrastructure funds during the GFC as stimulus spending destroying those 3 funds.

I then said why start up a wealth fund when lefties see a pile of money they will just spend it

What a stupid decision. Queensland will become a state of temperature wimps.

Air conditioning in all schools, so young people will not experience what it’s like to work in a warehouse, or a mine or a factory or a construction site, or a workshop, or Bunnings…

An interesting article, that will no doubt be howled down by neo cons, because their tribe owns most of the media

“Rather than being able to rely on revenue from advertising, “media outlets try to stay afloat via subscriptions and targeted advertising”.

“The editorial incentives of this model are different,” Watts said. “Instead of seeking to appeal to a broad base of readers, and classifieds bargain hunters, media outlets increasingly seek to serve political tribes.

“What drives clicks and subscriptions among these tribes are culture wars, not public interest journalism.”

The main issue is that the ABC chooses not to reflect the range of political opinions that exist in the community. This is outrageous given that we don’t have the option of not buying it.

It was not Twitter where more than 200,000 words were published to “socially punish” a young Muslim woman until she left the country. It wasn’t on Twitter where a commentator joked of wanting to run her over. It was not on Twitter where the war on African communities was unleashed. It was not on Twitter where a cartoon depicting one of the greatest athletes on Earth was drawn in a way which was described by some as “Jim-Crow racist” and looking like something out of a “1870s racist southern newspaper”. These are minor issues compared with some of the campaigns conducted in traditional media that have changed the trajectory of the country.

I see that Getup has organised a campaign against Woolworths, because they advertise in the Murdoch press.

According to Getup, these campaigns are successful, mass organised protests and boycotts exert pressure. So people have a sense of control.

Those that don’t like the political orientation of a media outlet can choose not to consume it. And if they’re organised, they can exert considerable pressure.

This isn’t the case with the ABC. Regardless of whether you like it or not, you are required to pay for it. That’s why all political orientations must be included in the lineup.

“During the campaign speech, Biden, 77, described how children used to play with his blond leg hairs in the swimming pool while telling a story about his time working as a lifeguard.

“By the way, you know, I sit on the stand and it’d get hot. I got a lot of — I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun,” Biden said. “And the kids used to come up and reach in the pool and rub my leg down so it was straight and then watch the hair come back up again.”

He concluded his tale by saying, “I love kids jumping on my lap.”

    Gross govt debt $273 billion

Net Govt debt $175 billion or 10% of GDP

    Today:

    Gross govt debt $570 billion

Net govt debt $430 billion or 21.5% of GDP

    Question for YoM and Tosy:

Should the govt really be acting on coronavirus without fully costing it first?

So far about 3000 people have died from the corona virus, about 60,000 died from the flu last year.

It’s interesting, and in my opinion-
*Cost of airfares and accommodation for Bali will be about zero
    *Ditto with summer in Biarritz
*As above for a November break in Hawaii

The economic and tourism downturn isn’t all bad news for actual tourists.

Global finance chiefs will discuss coronavirus from the safety of a conference call as the world economy faces it “greatest danger” since the global financial crisis.

LOL! Yeah, normally they’d all grab the family and jet off to some expensive resort for a couple of weeks at taxpayer expense … oh, the hypocrisy!

Thanks for the tip TB, and oddly, there is a little surf in both Italy and South Korea, and I’ve surfed both. But not this year.

There’s not much surf in the Mediterranean, but there is a Crete Boardriders Club! How’d have thought that !!

And in 2007 it was MINUS $40B ie less than zero. So net debt has increased by $470B since 2007. Anybody who voted for Rudd in 2007 should be in prison

I remember the GFC very well. But did the GFC cause Rudd to drop our borders and lock up 50,000 boat people??? Labor dropped our borders because Labor does not believe in borders. Deep down the far left want one-world govt ruled by the UN. That is why lefties hate borders and let in 50,000 boat people
