Goodbye Alan Jones: You Fucking Toad

May 29, 2020

Alan Jones dressed as a ‘Golden Gaytime’ enjoys a cuppa with resident nutter Mark Latham

COLOURFUL radio personality, Alan Jones has finally been booted from radio 2GB after decades of spewing filth and vitriol to his tiny audience of disgruntled racists and poncy twats.

Jones, just shy of turning 80, called it a day this morning dedicating his final show to his “loyal, supportive and sometimes critical” listeners.

“My listeners have been wonderful,” he said.

“The program is nothing more really than a great big family.”

alan jones

His so-called “radio career” was often mired in controversy such as the Cash for Comment affair where he and fellow broadcaster John Laws accepted personal payments from companies for unscripted promotion of their products on air.

In 2012 he was forced to issue a grovelling apology for saying then Labor PM Julia Gillard’s father John had ‘died of shame’ at a Young Liberals function.

He then called for Australia’s first female PM to be ‘put in a chaff bag’ and thrown out sea.

Just last year he called for Prime Minister Scott Morrison to ‘shove a sock down the throat’ of New Zealand leader Jacinda Ardern, after she criticised Australia’s stance on climate change.

Those comments saw a mass exodus of advertisers, some of them never returning. More than 500 advertisers pulled their money out of 2GB and our sources say the program lost half its revenue.

With Jones on a $4m salary he quickly became a liability, despite his ratings popularity amongst the pearl necklace and pursed lips set.

It was nice of 2GB’s owners Nine Radio to afford the old codger the opportunity to resign (dis)gracefully.

The federal government has finally agreed to pay back hundreds of thousands of people who were hit with unlawful and incorrect Centrelink debts over a four-year period through the Coalition’s botched robodebt scheme.

In 2016 Coalition changed the method of determine income in Labors Robodebt scheme to income averaging. Apparently that is wrong. Not sure why income averaging is illegal but Robodebt started in 2011 when Shorten/ALP replaced humans with computers to data match between the ATO and Centrelink

I explained this to you in an earlier thread. Alternatively, you could have made your own fucking inquiries before dribbling last night’s felched santorum onto the page.

Put simply, average fortnightly income for a year does not tell you how much income you earned in a particular fortnight. It is illegal for the government to demand money from you in respect of a particular fortnight when it doesn’t know whether you had any income at all in that particular fortnight.

OK but why do people call income averaging Robodebt? Furthermore i do not like the way left wing journals have published the policy change.

The ABC published how many people died since the changes were made in 2016. Why did it do that? The ABC did not say the 2,030 who died was due to income averaging but implied it. That quickly morphed into a direct link for those deaths. Then that morphed into all 2,030 committed suicide. Turns out 2,030 people dying out of 900,000 who received notices is a normal death rate for a population that size

Yes, the initial response WAS spontaneous.

Of course, vested interests from both sides will now try and use it. I have reports of trump supporters taking over demonstrations and beginning to trash buildings, then legging it and leaving the initial protestors to take the blame.

And the cops themselves are atrocious, they make our pigs look tame, and I call ours pigs that because they have earned that name, as shown by their protection of the liberal party, and their soft touch on nazis when compared to the violence against green demonstrations.

After all CNN is supposedly Antifas mouthpiece media. Their is bad on both sides and the white supremacy groups are doing all they can to burn, loot and destroy and cause anarchy just as much as any other side. This is right out of their playbook. When the arrests are made and it all comes out in the wash I think you’ll find that the organisers are children from privileged families. And don’t you find it funny how the usual leftist trash (including Biden staffers) want to post bail for “white supremacists”.

Yes, and the Victorian police would behave in exactly the same way if they had the opportunity.

They issued 3 times as may fines for isolation breaches as other states, there are plenty of examples of over the top policing – and that’s because their recruitment pool is-

…Minister for Health Jenny Mikakos today announced the State of Emergency will be extended…

This extension will allow the Victorian Government to continue to enforce strict physical distancing and isolation requirements, as well as other directions from the Chief Health Officer relating to businesses, working from home, mass gatherings and recreational activities…

Under a State of Emergency, officers authorised by the Chief Health Officer can act to eliminate or reduce a serious risk to public health by detaining people, restricting movement, preventing entry to premises, or providing any other direction an officer considers reasonable to protect public health.

Police have strong powers to enforce directions and can issue on the spot fines, including up to $1,652 for individuals and up to $9,913 for businesses. People who don’t comply could also be taken to court and receive a fine of up to $20,000. Companies face fines of up to $100,000…

Funny that the right have attacked China for control and support the demonstrators yet support Donald to control and suppress the demonstrators. Seems that it depends where the individual and their money comes from. It’s the difference between communism and democracy.

In a democracy you can vote out the government. No need for violence unless you don’t give a shit about what the majority want and want to impose your own anti-democratic agenda.

Under a communist dictatorship like China there is no option to vote out the CCP.

In any event I don’t like the limited amount of violence that has occurred in HK. It is certainly more justified and on a tiny scale compared to the coup being attempted by Antifa.

Where did this come from, the fascists? Rewriting history BEFORE it happens ROFL

As demonstrations spread from Minneapolis to the White House, New York City and overseas, federal law enforcement officials insisted far-left groups were stoking violence. Meanwhile, experts who track extremist groups also reported seeing evidence of the far-right at work.

Then there is the talking point that Antifa is just a loose collection of people not an organisation as such and so can’t be designated a terrorist organisation. Funnily enough, according to CNN it has a “Metropolitan Anarchist Coordinating Council”.

In New York’s Union Square on May Day, a masked member of the Antifa group Metropolitan Anarchist Coordinating Council told CNN why he wore black bloc and waved a black flag.

“We cover our face because the Nazis will try to find out who we are. And that is a very bad thing because they harass people,” he said. “We’re trying to stop them from organizing. … When they organize, they kill people, they hurt people, they fight people. And we’re the ones who are fighting back.”

It’s a position taken by many Antifa activists: “This is self-defense.”
Antifa activists often don’t hesitate to destroy property, which many see as the incarnation of unfair wealth distribution.

“Violence against windows — there’s no such thing as violence against windows,” a masked Antifa member in Union Square told CNN. “Windows don’t have — they’re not persons. And even when they are persons, the people we fight back against, they are evil. They are the living embodiment, they are the second coming of Hitler.””

  76. Splatterbottom permalink
    June 2, 2020 11:12 am

    Also from the CNN article:

“Antifa members also sometimes launch attacks against people who aren’t physically attacking them. The movement, Crow said, sees alt-right hate speech as violent, and for that, its activists have opted to meet violence with violence.”

So basically if some dumb entitled child of privilege doesn’t like what you say s/he can use violence to shut you up. As I said Anti First Amendment.

So what do you propose to end the rioting, the violence against small business owners and the looting? Surely you would be pleased that President Trump seeks to uphold the law against all the white nationalists and Russians causing the trouble?

SWan does not have a brain. During the GFC he just followed Public Service advice. For example that pink batts/home insulation scheme was presented to Costello as a energy saving scheme to reduce electricity bills. Costello rejected the program because he said the govt had no expertise in installing insulation into roofs.

Public Service resubmitted the proposal to Swan as a stimulus program during the GFC and Swan went for it. SWan just followed PS advice during the GFC something Costello would not have done

And there was NO structural deficit in 2007. The budget was a $20B surplus and govt debt was ZERO. Since 2007 we have racked up $400B of govt debt and govt debt has gone from MINUS 3% of GDP ie less than zero to 19% of GDP now.

And ROBODEBT started in 2011 when Labor replaced humans with computers to do data matching between the ATO and Centrelink. In fact Labor under Graeme Richardson introduced data matching between the ATO and Centrelink in 1991

Shane, with the greatest of respect, that’s nonsense.

The USA has an electoral college and the president has to win a majority. That’s democratic.

Australia has a House of Representatives, and the government has to win a majority of the seats. That’s democratic.

In both cases of these democratic systems, the parties focus on marginal seats or states.

If both countries had a different system, one that simply involved winning a majority across the country, that would also be democratic. In both cases campaigning would be entirely different, there would be no focus or discussion about local issues, the national media would be even more important, as would major national contributors. There would be an even smaller level of grassroots campaigning.

But the current system of voting in both countries is democratic nonetheless.

During the past decade or so (and despite Trump) I’ve come to the conclusion that the US system of nomination and campaigning via primaries is far more suitable for a country like Australia than the inherited British system.

    “Democracy is 1 vote 1 value.Nothing less.”

You are at least partly correct, Shane, in a narrow technical sense. One person one vote on every issue is the purest form of democracy which was seen in some Greek city states. If you have 1 person one vote for elected representatives that is representative government.

Although in a broad sense the US is a Democracy, it is certainly not in the narrow technical sense of the word.

Fareed Zakaria worte a good book addressing these issues. I liked his description of democracy as a political system including free speech, due process under law and representative government. This is a broader view of democracy and I think he gets it right.

The US is a constitutional republic. The founding fathers debated the matter at length and correctly (in my view) decided to form a constitutional republic.

The founding fathers were conservative in the proper sense. That is they wanted to make progress but with careful attention to what went before so as to learn the lessons from the past. By studying the ancient Greek and Roman forms of government they came up with what is broadly the first modern democracy. It has endured.

While the American revolution, being based in conservative values succeeded in producing a great country, the French revolution produced the opposite – the reign of terror and a military dictatorship. This is largely due to the character (or lack thereof of the French revolutionaries. The problem is that they were leftists. Instead of trying to learn for the past these arrogant fucking leftists decided to remake the world anew from year zero (like a later generation of leftists did in Cambodia).

What you see in the US now is horrible human beings trying to bring democracy (in the broad sense) down because they are dumb leftist cunts who think they have the right to impose their vision on the rest of the population.

Ha Ha there are so many dumb rightist cunts as well.

The US is nothing like the democracy the founding fathers intended at all.

Secretive decisions, commercial in confidence hidden agendas, no public access, fake news the likes of which we have never seen before perpetrated mostly by the right. Unprecedented lies to the extent that right now claims that people are happy with their politicians telling lies or fiddling the books or giving dodgy handouts.

Can you honestly say the founding fathers wrote the constitution in relation to the right to bear arms to have the society they have now where tens of thousands of their own citizens are killed by their own citizens. They would be turning in their grave. The right to bear arms was meant to be the right of the country to bear arms to defend itself.

Can you honestly say that the founding fathers would be happy that trillions of tax cuts to those how can afford them are handed out while millions of their citizens have no health care.

Can you honestly say that the founding fathers would be rejoicing in the wealth inequality of massive proportions for the top while millions cannot afford to purchase medicines to keep themselves alive.

Can you honestly say that the founding fathers would be dancing with joy that the wages of the average worker cannot even cover a years cost of health insurance and that many full time workers earn so little that they rely on government handouts to survive.

I can go on and on. So the fucking right wing cunts have fucked the fucking joint from pure and utter greed, a disease no less toxic than any other mental health issue. “The truest democracy is NZ. One vote one value. “

Why do you think that is a good thing?

You obviously have not read the founding fathers as you seem to have no clue as to why they chose certain structures. If you really want to understand you might start with the Federalist Papers, the anti-Federalist papers and “Democracy In America”.

You might also want to inquire as to the development of the various democracies in ancient Greece. Democracy is not one thing. In ancient Greece there were many. Athenian democracy is the most well know and it developed over hundreds of years. You could start with the archon Solon and the reforms he made.

Interestingly “archon” is where we get the word anarchy from. An archon is a ruler and anarchy is what you get without one.

Neil there was nothing democratic about the appointment of Cromwell. He was a tyrant who maintained a standing army to terrorize the public. He was famous for murdering populations after he had taken towns in Ireland. In fact he was a reason the right to bear arms was a popular cause in the UK.

He was essentially appointed by a military council after he had marched into the chamber seized the ceremonial mace and abolished the Rump parliament.

As far as a system of representative government goes the Cromwell era was a complete shemozzle. There was no system of free and fair elections. A couple of years after Cromwell died they appointed a new king.

Proposed lots of things too radical for the times but came into force centuries later. It was called the English Republic. It did not work so they brought the Monarchy back

And i think it is garbage the Founding fathers of the USA modelled their govt on Greece and Rome. It would have been modelled on British parliament. Certainly the American Colonial govts were. When the pilgrims/English migrated to North America they were too busy trying to survive to invent new forms of govt so the Colonial govts were modelled on English govt. Same here. Definition of democracy. 1a : government by the people especially : rule of the majority. b : a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.

See the words rule of the majority. That is democracy, not jerryamnders, political outcomes, individual seats, boundary lines etc etc. One vote one value, proportional representation reflecting the proportional vote of the people is the only real democracy.

The senate is elected by the whole of the states citizens there are not electorates and the senate seats are proportioned as a percentage of the vote for each party or individual based on the votes from the WHOLE of the state, not little segments of imagined lines drawn up by a commission.

Each state having the same number of seats is a protection mechanism for the smaller states not to be overridden by the larger ones when it comes to each states rights and individual legislation when the Commonwealth was created.

The vote is one vote one value for every single member of that particular state, so it is the correct way of representation and democracy.

If we had no individual states then there would be no need for each state to have the exact same number of senate seats and it should then be one vote one value for the WHOLE of Australia.

Our Federation was modeled on what the Founding Fathers of the USA did. Britain had no concept of a Federal govt. Britain at that time was a Unitary State. Britain was a Union but the bodies making up that Union had no Parliaments.

We got the undemocratic idea that the States of a Federation in the Senate should have equal votes no matter what the population of those States were from the USA

We got our lower House from Britain but our upper house from the USA

That’s actually not quite true. Many say that the waters of the Thames and those of the Potomac flow into Lake Burley Griffin but our Senate was originally designed as a block voting system whereby whichever party was in the majority in each state (first past the post) won all the senate seats in that State. Not at all like the US senate

“Block voting tended to produce landslide majorities and even “wipe-outs”. For instance, from 1920 to 1923 the Nationalist Party held all but one of the 36 seats, and from 1947 to 1950, the Australian Labor Party held all but three. In 1948, single transferable vote with proportional representation on a state-by-state basis became the method for electing Senators. This had the effect of limiting the government’s ability to control the chamber, and has helped the rise of Australian minor parties…………..”

the Australian Senate was in part modeled after the United States Senate, by giving equal representation to each state and equal powers with the lower house.

The Brits had no concept of a Federal nation when 13 colonies in North America rebelled. Neither did the rebellious colonies. They first started a Confederacy of 13 colonies which did not work. Then the 13 colonies formed a Federation.

True but the way it was/is elected is not similar at all because in the USA senators were originally, until the early 20th century selected by the state parliaments, not by general election.

Not to mention, the organisers are warning people who are coming to practice safe distancing, it’s quite a bit different from people who brazenly flaunt the laws, and then are supported by our grubmint for it

The hypocrisy is astounding, but oh so ‘conseevative’

I see, so the advice of the medical and health experts was required to be complied with a few weeks ago, but now their expert advice isn’t really so important.

It’s best if we choose when to comply with regulations!

And practicing social distancing at a protest should be easy! One person per 4sq/metres! Let’s see how that works!

And will Dan Andrews come up with something like -“no protest march is worth someone’s life”

You either accept the scientific and expert advice, or you don’t.

Tom R: “Also, as I said, I don’t think it is a good idea to go, but I can certainly understand the feeling of those going.”

I suspect, based on past experience, that many going will be white children from privileged backgrounds with whatever token “victims” they and their Socialist Alliance mates can co-opt. In any event I agree it would be better if they stay home. Won’t someone please think of the healthcare workers?

Depends largely on the cops, doesn’t it. Time will tell. At least the organisers are being proactive about the issue, unlike the other protests supported by the pm, who openly flaunted the rules.

Splats, I think you will find that photo was before restrictions were lifted. But hey, play false equivalence if you are that empty in the chamber.

    Ouch

SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens issued an exemption which allows a gathering of more than 80 people in a public place for the “one-off, unique situation”.

However, he said those who attend the rally at Victoria Square in Adelaide’s CBD will still need to practise social distancing — and anyone sick should stay away — to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“This is a unique and extraordinary event. There is a sentiment that suggests people should have a right to protest on significant matters. We acknowledge that,” Commissioner Stevens said.

I think you will find that… restrictions continue to apply and Victoria Police (for example) continue to fine people for breaching them. The restrictions aren’t as severe, but that’s because the scientific experts have made recommendations!

But, why should “teh left” care what the scientific community says?

Just saw footage of the BLM protests in Canberra today. They were not – repeat, were not – practicing ‘safe distancing’. So if that’s any indication of how well the organisers are organising, then expect to see more of the same tomorrow.

Oh, I’m sure they won’t, and I’m sure there will be violence, at at least one of them. That doesn’t change the complete opposite reaction the government has to the different protests, which really only makes these protests, as wrong as they are, necessary.

    I am an anti-fascist.

Of course she is. Isn’t everyone? That’s not the point. The point is groups like Antifa pretend the US and Australian governments – and just about everyone they deem a capitalist – are fascists, which gives them the moral authority they need to carry out violent acts of rebellion. After all, who wouldn’t fight back using any means available if their country had actually been taken over by fascists?

    Breaking:

NSW supreme court rules BLM protest cannot go ahead

The NSW Supreme Court has denied permission for Black Lives Matter protesters to demonstrate in Sydney tomorrow.

Justice Desmond Fagan accepted an request from the NSW police that the proposed protest be considered illegal.

“I cannot accept that these proposals … should take the place of the public health order which applies to all citizens,” he said.

The current rules in NSW allow gatherings of no more than 10 people.

Fagan described the protest as an “unreasonable proposition” given the current social distancing restrictions.

Glad I’m, in Antifa Adelaide 😉

Things NOT considere illegal in NSW

    Get sweaty at a gym
Play indoor soccer with 100 people
Go for a sauna and breathe in other ppl’s body juices
    Go to the pools (ew)
    Stand in a park

It wasn’t milk. He isn’t a racist. He is a gay Vietnamese-American journalist trying to expose Antifa criminals.

He was assaulted by a gutless Antifa mob then taken to hospital. He suffered a brain hemorrhage. The Antifa leftists who control Portland and its police have made sure the gutless Antifa thugs who assaulted him were never charged.

Now go put on your black bloc and bash someone’s grandma at the demo today!

    “Go to the pools”

The pools are perfectly safe – 8 socially distant people in the facility at a time (45 minute sessions), 1 person per lane, change rooms closed, spend your time in a chlorine bath exhaling under water. Zero chance of catching anything.

I think the main reason to criticise the protests is the unrelenting insistence from “teh left” that everyone complies with health restrictions .

When they insist on absolute compliance, they now have to observe those rules.

I think there’s a word for their double standards.

Republican senator Tom Cotton’s editorial in the New York Times calling on the president to “send in the troops” was published on the 31st anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre when the Chinese military put down pro-democracy protests led by students, killing thousands. It is a day that goes unmarked in mainland China but the parallel is not lost.

It is not just Trump it is those who empower him … had he been impeached by the Senate??? Oh, fuck! Evangelist Pence!
