WE ARE NOT RACISTS! Says family descended from medieval selective breeding program.

We might be Nazis, but we are not racists, is the defence emanating from the House of Windsor as the fallout from the Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah Winfrey continues to shake the foundations of the monarchy.
The Duke of Edinburgh, already dead by all accounts, is ‘recuperating’ in hospital while the remaining monarchs are left to pretend his track record of racist off-the-cuff remarks about ‘people of colour’ somehow didn’t occur – are left floundering wondering how on earth they’re going to respond to this latest crisis.
It’s not so much that they don’t like black people or Asians, it’s just that those of pure Germanic origin tend to be more photogenic and accustomed to dressing up in fancy uniforms with or without military paraphernalia. It’s all very high-camp, but obviously not in a gay way (in case there’s any misunderstanding about that). Just ask Prince Edward.
No, the monarchy is performing just as it should. Reminding us that aside from the occasional ‘indiscretion’ (Charles and Camilla, Diana and Dodi Fayed, Fergie and the toe-sucker, Prince Andrew and anything in a skirt), they are upstanding citizens of the highest order, well-deserving of their lives of extravagant taxpayer-funded wealth and privilege for generations to come.
Besides, those ribbons aren’t going to cut themselves.
“WE ARE NOT RAPISTS! Says Party descended from mediocre selective seeding program.”
In equally important news, there was a photo of Danni and Kylie yesterday!

BRENDAN O’NEILL: Thou shalt not criticise St Meghan. “But what is indisputable is that a weird, unsettling and censorious atmosphere of religiosity now surrounds the Duchess of Sussex. The cultural elites have beatified her. They’ve made her the patron saint of critical race theory, the goddess of wokeness. To venture a criticism of this high priestess of correct thought is to risk cancellation.”

Something new to be outraged about …
(Something new to be outraged about …
Not really, perhaps: just a prepositioned attempt to freeze time at a point where (dis)interested persons, via the ABC and etcetera, knew as little as Christian, and others, said he did on, and/or around, Performative Outing Day; and, thereby, to erase all (other)ed) (a)contextual memory(ies), accordingly; which, fortunately, is (still?) nothing like coordinated, premeditated gaslighting; or a (self-)suggested and (well-)considered (legally-)privileged) assessment of (not-)okayness.)
Not really
After those two words, I’ve got no idea what you’re trying to say.
I think it’s great that people are suing the media for defamation.
Rebel Wilson and Geoffrey Rush were successful against spiteful media gossip.
Porter has said he will give sworn evidence and has challenged the ABC to use truth as a defence.
That seems like a satisfactory way through this. The ALP should be satisfied too, because it means Shorten won’t be roped into an inquiry

So apparently there’s going to be a #Libspill tomorrow challenging Michael O’Brien for the leadership of the VIC Liberal Party.
Just when he was doing such a good job too…. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
Yes, apparently some guy called Brad Battin is favourite to win. I’ve never heard of him. Then again I’ve barely heard of Michael O’Brien.
Tim Smith would be entertaining
I agree. Tim Smith should be the next leader.
I mean, what have they got to lose…?
Are you going to have a punt ToSY…?
No. Not interested. The Dapto dogs would be more exciting than this.🙄

You wouldn’t get this from Trump
“We have made clear that the US is not prepared to improve relations in a bilateral and separate context at the same time that a close and dear ally is being subjected to a form of economic coercion,”
Why would the Biden administration care? People here tell me it’s all ScoMo’s fault because he hurt China’s feelings.
Yes, but they’re also unable to identify the statement that Morrison made to justify their outrage. Apparently it’s in the vibe
China apparently is very sensitive about the vibe.
but they’re also unable to identify the statement that Morrison made to justify their outrage
“Shanghai Sam”
“China Virus”
“Chinese cyber attacks”
“Weapons grade inspectors to find out how China started this virus”
“No Belt and Road for YOU Commie Dan!”
Yea, why won’t anyone provide them for you yomm? [facepalm]
We’re they in government statements?
Youse know that video meme of Hitler in his bunker where people put on their own captions, usually in a humorous way? Well, the movie it’s from, Downfall, is worth watching (its on Netflix atm).
We’re they in government statements?
I think you mean wer…. oh fuck it 🙂
Yes! I did mean “were”
It’s grim when you’re able to correct me
It’s grim when you’re able to correct me
You spelled ‘normal’ wrong 😉
Bill Maher makes a very good point here:
From China’s useful idiot:
“Shanghai Sam”
“China Virus”
“Chinese cyber attacks”
“Weapons grade inspectors to find out how China started this virus”
“No Belt and Road for YOU Commie Dan!”
Its called talking truth to power. And next time you [facepalm] close your fist. You might knock some sense into yourself.
The Washington Post has zero credibility:
Its called talking truth to power
Anther term is ‘poking the bear’
The more common one is ‘racism’!
Calling out attempts to buy off politicians, or identifying national security issues is not racism
Clive Hamilton wrote a chapter about that lazy response/tactic from apologists for the CCP
China is Tom R’s kryptonite! When it comes to commos he can’t resist the real deal!
Calling out attempts to buy off politicians, or identifying national security issues is not racism
No
But calling someone ‘Shanghai Sam’ is
Calling it the ‘China Virus’ is
Assuming espionage is ALWAYS from China is
Blocking the Belt and Road for Victoria, because it’s from China, but at the same time, selling an entire Port to them, is certainly a very weird form of racism, like, China are different when it’s those commie Labor states?
When it comes to commos
Case in point. 😉
***SMACK***
COP THAT AUSTRALIA!
… AND LET THAT BE A LESSON TO ANYONE ELSE WHO FEELS LIKE GETTING UPPITY
Tom R’s response- “thank you sir, we’ve learnt our lesson”
The Vic Govt recently complied with a directive to disclose to the Feds all deals they’ve done with foreign powers. Andrews has sniffed the wind and knows the public is suspicious of China and its motives.
AND LET THAT BE A LESSON TO ANYONE ELSE WHO FEELS LIKE GETTING UPPITY
You spelled RACIST wrong at the end there yomm.
Andrews has sniffed the wind and knows the public is suspicious of China and its motives.
I think you mean ‘all countries’ and their motives 😉
I think you mean ‘all countries’ and their motives
Yeah, nah. Victoria doesn’t have deals with ‘all countries’. Mainly just the CCP.
I see the libs are doing what they do best, and throwing unsubstantiated hsit at Labor (and also GetUp) about harassment. Harassment that was investigated t the time, and cleared both Labor and GetUp.
But our media forget that, and run the libs line. It’s almost as if it is … orchestrated?
“wrote a journalist a full 36 minutes before Mr Morrison said those words”
https://twitter.com/RonniSalt/status/1371982385764466689
Yeah! When democratic countries had that tiff with Germany 80 years ago, that was racist too.
It seems we just can’t learn our lessons about non racist non bullies
Clearly criticism of a brutal dictatorship that is in dispute with each of its neighbours is racism.
I see the relationship between benevolent China and that racist Justin Trudeau have reached a new low.
He must be Canada’s equivalent of our racist Prime Minister
Is the Vietnamese Government racist? That’s a difficult one, but probably (in a nicer way)
“But calling someone ‘Shanghai Sam’ is”
How the fuck is that racist? Shanghai is a place, not a race. Associating a corrupt Labor (but I repeat myself) politician with the source of his funds is fair comment. Nothing racist about it. As usual you are screaming racism where there is none.
Is it OK for the CCP and its minions to curry favour with Australian politicians by generous financial arrangements with them? Apparently we can’t talk about that (but only in the case of China) without being called ‘racist’ by morally and intellectually bankrupt stooges of the genocidal CCP.
“Calling it the ‘China Virus’ “ Then referring to the South African strain or the English strain must also be racist. There is a long history of referring to diseases by places associated with them. But all the hypocritical China felchers can do is yell racist. That is the modus operandi of dumb leftist cunts who prefer to screech derision rather than argue logically.
Truly, you make Q Anon seem sane and principled.
No, no… we’re the racists and China is teaching us a lesson for our own good.
China has been patient and we have been wayward.
It’s obviously racist to claim we’re not racist
Associating a corrupt Labor
Yea, he was so corrupt, he declared the money publicly. Unlike some people who Rolex watches ffs
Yeah! When democratic countries had that tiff with Germany 80 years ago, that was racist too
Yea Yea, when Germany separated one group of people out for different treatment to the rest, just like we are currently doing with China, was THAT racist?
Then referring to the South African strain or the English strain must also be racist.
Because ones a ‘strain’ Yea, I know, only words, aren’t they. It’s like nobody learnt from the “Spanish Flu” years, did they?
Recent pic of Tom R:

(Obviously, I’d prefer to continue discussing Our PNG charm offensive/vaccination program; but, I thought I’d just very bravely linkdrop this here, before rushing off to take a very important international call.)
So many racist governments.
The Philippines, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Brunei, Nepal, Bhutan, Laos, Myanmar, Canada, France, Germany…
All racist. Because all have disputes/poor/deteriorating relations with China, who only wants peace and goodwill for all!
Recent pic of Tom R:
Yea, I shoulda got meself a Rolex
Or a shiny new job with the mob who just bought Darwin Port.
Or sold off all our dairy farms too?
Or who took way more cash from the guy Sam lost his job for, but didn’t declare it.
Yea, THOSE kind of overlords 😉
(Truly, you make Q Anon seem sane and principled.
Indeed; SARS-Cov-2, aka The Andromeda Strain, does/n’t have quite the same ring to it as The Pleiades Virus.)
(They’re our family, they’re our friends, they’re our neighbours,” Morrison said of PNG. “This is in Australia’s interests and it is in our region’s interests and it’s incumbent on us as Australians both to secure the health of our own citizens but equally our PNG family who are so dear to us.”)
“Because ones a ‘strain’ “
That is a distinction without a difference, you racist fuck.
“It’s like nobody learnt from the “Spanish Flu” years, did they?”
Oh, the horror of it all! Spaniards have never really recovered from that horrendous bout of racism. And the same sort of racism is tearing Australia to pieces. We need urgent legislation to protect the residents of Hendra, Bairnsdale and the Murray Valley. Ross River needs to be renamed. In fact reparations should be paid to the residents of these places. I can’t even begin to imagine what it is like to live a life burdened by such a stigma!
That is a distinction without a difference, you racist fuck.
Tell it to the scientists, you Genius genus
https://www.latimes.com/science/story/2021-02-04/whats-difference-between-variant-strain-coronavirus
Oh, the horror of it all! Spaniards have never really recovered from that horrendous bout of racism
Calling it what it is a first step splats, well done splats 😉
Spaniards called the highly contagious disease “The Soldier of Naples” after a catchy song popular at the time. But when the deadly virus exploded across the world and became known as “Spanish influenza,” Spain protested that its people were being falsely stigmatized.
President Trump is sparking similar complaints by referring to the coronavirus as the “Chinese virus” because it probably started in Wuhan, China. He did it again during a nationally televised news briefing Sunday night. Critics say the president is unfairly stigmatizing all Chinese people, while the president contends he is just stating facts.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2020/03/23/spanish-flu-chinese-virus-trump/
“Tell it to the scientists”
I was talking about your suggestion that the toponymous naming of a strain of a disease was somehow less racist than the toponymous naming of the disease. Now that is a distinction without a difference!
“Spaniards called the highly contagious disease “The Soldier of Naples” after a catchy song popular at the time. But when the deadly virus exploded across the world and became known as “Spanish influenza,” Spain protested that its people were being falsely stigmatized.”
So the Spaniards were hypocrites! The Neapolitans should be pissed!
Tom R – expert in semantics. I’ll summarise his principled position-
* Naming a deadly ailment after it’s likely country of origin is racist.
* Naming a deadly ailment after it’s likely country of origin isn’t racist.
* Identifying cultural idiosyncrasies/peculiarities of a country is racist
* Identifying cultural idiosyncrasies/peculiarities of a country isn’t racist
So the Spaniards were hypocrites!
That doesn’t change the argument though, does it.
* Naming a deadly ailment after it’s likely country of origin is Wrong (‘likely’ being the opportune word there). But is very racist especially in the context that it is presented
* Naming a deadly ailment after it’s likely country of origin isn’t wrong, because it helps identify a source of a particular strain, with no blame associated.
* Identifying cultural idiosyncrasies/peculiarities of a country is racist. CONTEXT.
* Identifying cultural idiosyncrasies/peculiarities of a country isn’t racist (see above 😉 )
Yeah. There are no rules that can be applied to racism because it’s all about the CONTEXT of Tom R’s choice
Sadly, the CONTEXT in Tom R’s case is the descent of his once-agile mind into the cesspit of zombie trolldom.
Now this is how you poke a bear:
Biden says Putin is a killer and doesn’t have a soul
In Australia experts warn that Russia may be distracting the US from its more important strategic threat – China.
dog we are FIXATED!
The racism CONTEXT (vibe) thing is a bit of a conundrum.
* Americans have an ugly and violent gun culture (**not racist)
* Lebanese have an ugly and violent gun culture (**racist)
* African Americans use guns and have higher murder rate than other demographics (**racist)
I just want to say ALP/Greens mislead and deceive people
As a Conservative Australian i have no idea who to vote for anymore
I could never vote ALP/Greens because they mislead and deceive people like TB of Queensland
But the current Coalition govt is out spending Whitlam
Fact is i think govt debt will increase forever and we are doomed because of TB of Queensland
Huge extinction rebellion protest in Melbourne this morning. There are six protestors and a truck in the middle of the intersection on the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth Streets. Six protestors!
“Six protestors!”
The sooner they are extincted the better! They will get more attention (and also do the world a favour) if they self-immolate.
Cancel culture is rotten. It will inevitably cannibalise its own. Maybe when enough woke wankers get cancelled there will be some attempt at moderation.
(It was fun watching the Minters moron CEO get cancelled).
Could be an interesting day in senate estimates
Monday morning will see the AFP front the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee.
…
Most recently, news.com.au reported the AFP did not give NSW Police the dossier against Mr Porter before the state authorities closed their case.
https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/2021/03/22/brittany-higgins-christian-porter/
Gonna be a Sgt Shultz morning there I reckon 😉
“Gonna be a
Sgt ShultzRunning Dog Dan morning there I reckon”Schultz is an amateur compared to Dan. Which is why we still don’t know who made the decision that made itself, who chose to go with that bunch of crooks Unified Security, who tipped them off to get their employees online training and who the CEO spoke and texted with on the day the contracts were awarded.
I hope that whatever happens today will not likely be as corrupt and rotten as the Coate inquiry appeared to be.
Schultz is an amateur compared to Dan
It’s confusing, isn’t it
Dan doesn’t say anything. But he has hours long press interviews, where, according to hte same mob who reckon he says nothing, he does nothing but lie
It’s all so confusing
How confusing is this?
“It’s confusing, isn’t it”
Not at all we’ve seen this dog and pony show before. Running Dog Dan has all the hallmarks of Granny Killer Cuomo. The pattern is strikingly similar – using interminable boring press conferences while hiding the truth from the people. Meanwhile press accolades are heaped on the moral monster.
Like Cuomo, Dan gives long blithering passive-aggressive interviews by turns sniveling and then bullying. We still don’t know who made the decision which killed 800 Victorians. We don’t know the details of how the crooks came to be appointed. The one thing he does not do is actually explain how he became Australia’s largest mass killer.
Not at all we’ve seen this dog and pony show before.
Yes, like when cash told estimates that her statement to the AFP could be considered her statement to estimates; when her statement to the AFP was “see what I said in estimates”
Who would have thought it would all cum down to this?
Indeed, Tom R. Surely you were moved to tears at the Prime Minister being moved to tears? Now we can all have a good cry and go back to business as usual.
You mean those tears he shed just before he released private information about a similar case at newscorpse (if he isn’t just lying again?)
Watch for the smirk at the end. From tears to smirk in record time
Don’t go to war with people who buy ink by the barrel. ScMo should know this.
Don’t go to war with people who buy ink by the barrel.
Or, don’t lie. It’s his first recourse, always has been, and now that he’s done it to Australia’s ruler, his days are numbered.
Funny that the one who has protected him as he has lied his way to the (almost) top, is going to be the one who brings him back down.
What Doug said
I also note that morrison has now apologised to the person he made up.
What a guy.

A must watch 7minutes 34 seconds that exposes a PM with no moral compass or leadership capacity, cabinet ministers incapable of acting in the national interest and a backbench predominantly made up of cowards and sycophants.
That has been the case since 2007.
Now Peta Credlin claims Parliament House is a hotbed of ‘gay orgies..!’ What with the long boozy lunches, business class travel and chauffeur driven comcars I’m seriously beginning to realise I’ve chosen the wrong vocation. Is it too late consider a career change…?
Is it too late consider a career change…?

sacrificial lambscandidates? In light of revelations about Conservatives having intimate relationships with coffee tables, should we perhaps revisit this episode in our nations proud history?

Peta is probably miffed (or perhaps muffed) at being relegated to Bull-Dykes Corner at party time..
However, her revelation has finally brought to light the true meaning the Mincing Poodle’s boast about being “in the winners’ circle”!
(Is it too late [to] consider a career change…?
Theoretically, it’s (n)ever too late to be ‘seen‘ through Ms Peta’s magic revisionary mirror.)
“Conservatives having intimate relationships with coffee tables”
Tom R, you have a bad case of objectophobia. Your hateful stance is very hurtful to objectophiles everywhere.
OTOH, it is good to see the Libs fulfilling their own prophecy even if they are a bit behind the rest of the world.
This is hilarious – Harris ’empowered’ herself by sleeping with a Democrat power-broker old enough to be her father. And Bill Clinton empowered a young female intern by sexually assaulting her with a cigar in the Oval Office.
Tom R, you have a bad case of objectophobia.
I OBJECT-a-phobia is an irrational fear or aversion of objections, isn’t it? I love objecting 🙂
“I love objecting “
Indeed, you are an object lesson in that art!
you are an object lesson in that art!
I object to the objectionable objectification of objects
I just got some junk mail from Clive Palmer. He says there is no one-year safety data, no three-year safety data or five-year safety data for the use of the COVID-19 vaccine
He says he agrees with vaccines but thinks this one has been rushed

He’s from Queensland

OK but is he right? I have just picked up Palmers junk mail again

If anyone tells you Shepparton is a nice place to visit, it’s not.
It’s a shit hole.
Why would you go to Shepparton? Just ask you want advice on Victorian towns worth visiting.
If you google images of Shepparton, it will display a shithole
Queensland has a new Covid case…
* Close the border
* Don’t have any Queenslanders use “our” hospitals
* Tell them to f*** off and return to the isolated, uncultured redneck backwater they obviously prefer
“Why would you go to Shepparton?”
In my defence, it wasn’t my idea.
The best thing about Shepparton is that it is within a 2 hour drive of some places worth visiting
The best thing about Shepparton is that it is within a 2 hour drive of some places worth visiting
Is it that close to the border?

The competence of Queensland government on display
Yep, only outdone by SA, which shut down the state harder and faster than anywhere else in the world because of ….. a pizza box.
And then tried to pin it all on a migrant student who had been forced to work at illegal rates in order to survive. Which is the real tragedy of that whole ordeal.
But then, that’s straya’s ‘rule of law’ in action 😉

” Welcome to Queensland- arrogant one day, plague ridden the next”
What can I say …
Happy Easter, ToM, and thanks for your support …

” Welcome to Plaguesville”
Welcome to Plaguesville

Queenslanders are complying … comprehension breakdown again …
Yet from 1600 km away you could tell Victorians weren’t complying

I see morrisons women’s cabinet is a roaring success.
Yet from 1600 km away you could tell Victorians weren’t complying

TB gets everything he needs from Brisbane TV.
There I was thinking that he was all seeing, all knowing (some would say a know it all)… but it’s all from the media he blames!
Queensland compliant! That’s nice
The government really got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning, didn’t they 😆
Just WTF are you on …
TB gets everything he needs from Brisbane TV.
You may not know the difference, ToM … but Aussie TV is WORLDWIDE! With the occasional reference to … wait for it …. steady … Victoria – even Melbourne … even ToM’s place …

The Federal Govt … is responsible for 5.5 million people & they have rolled out 50,000. I think the figures speak for themselves”
Yep! Even the LNP are sick (s’cuse the pun) of the Feds … marketing never won a war! People did!
ToM! yer so clever …
Explain this to me … (all while the Covid crisis continues)
$40 billion in production and export (who to?) er … hang on … $270 billion over 10 years and $40 billion return over … … … 20 years … so for war machines we suffer a multi billion loss … and invest how much in renewable energy projects and future jobs?

I think the rest of the world has referred to this as the Third Wave.

Which version of TB do YOU prefer?

Cheap wine tastes better if the price tag is bumped up, scientists have revealed.
It’s thanks to a new study on whether expensive wine is really worth the cash…But it suggests that for the average consumer, the price on your bottle of wine might not matter so much.
So it may be worth settling for some cheap booze rather than paying over the odds for a posh bottle at your next party. And always drink responsibly.

“he’s not even a Manager ” Don’t you worry about that ol’sock, slomo is running a spectacular blue gaggle if ever there was one. Just keep enjoying the on-going episodes of the blue gaggle hurling itself head first into their ‘knot a woman problem pond of quicksand’ as it likes to do from time to time.`
“arrogant one day, plague ridden the next ” Psst, primates in glass kooyongs shouldn’t throw poo at banana glass houses. You must have missed the bit of 2020 while boltsvillage primates were locked down, that also a bunch of boltsvillage poultry farms had to destroy stock due to another superbug, sars?, birdflu?, h1n1?`
“How good are vaccinations? ” Hey teamcheerer, there are just shy of eight billion primates on the planet. There will be at least 2-billion ‘unjabbed’ baby primates, probably closer to 3-billion baby primates, being left to huddle together in kindergartens and colleges to cough and breath on each other, passing the superbug back and forth and around and around, giving the superbug plenty of chance to mutate. This just might be ‘antidote to the node’ if the superbug mutates before the 5-to 6-billion primates get their jab. Then we are back in 2020.`
(Isn’t Passover a Jewish “thing”
Um, maybe.
From re:collective memory, it had something to do with staying@home whilst scrupulously observing a public health safety advisory, and something of an air of inevitability about potentially deadly consequences amongst those whose (un)particular families and communities heedlessly ignored that (fore)warning.
But, then again, as a story involving supernatural themes, and, therefore, as narrated, being inherently unreliable, along with evidencing a whole host of other incompetencies and incompatibilities with ‘actual‘ domains of knowledge, that sort of “thing” possibly deserves to wear, and/or to be forced to wear, a little star, of one kind or another, indicating to any prospective audience that it’s purely *for entertainment purposes only.

Most vaccines go through a lot of testing before they hit the market. So the vaccine has not had the usual clinical trials. So it looks like they are trialing it on the politicians and whoever gets it next.
I do not want to take it. If it becomes compulsory i do not know what i would do
So it looks like they are trialing it on the politicians
Thank goodness for that!

Once had a lot of fun with Tommy and Artie Beetson on a flight to Townsville … they were on a coaching trip … I remember saying to Artie “Do we still talk to him, mate?” Artie said something along the lines of “Sure, but I talk down to him” (for the iggorant – Artie was big lad … Tommy was one of the little blokes)
He may have been a Cockroach but he’ll be sadly missed … pleased to have met him …

It is a good idea to trial the vaccine on politicians. They can be the guinea pigs. Also when the next war looks likely the politicians should be sent to the front line..
But i do not want to take the vaccine. Apparently one of the vaccines is totally different to all previous vaccines. It interacts with your RNA or something i do not understand.
It’s true, this vaccine has been rushed through.
But rushing does not equate to missing crucial checks and balances. People volunteered themselves as guinea pigs to shave years off early testing. Sars vaccines have also been in heavy development for many years, and since COVID is simply a SARS virus, much of the groundwork was already done.
And if that is not enough for the faint, or stupid, of heart, MILLIONS of people around the world have already had it. Thanks to our grubmmints close incompetence, we’ll be years yet to worry about it.
Anybody who listens to palmer, after his long history of very public and blatant lies, needs their heads read, and probably should have been forced into being one of the early ‘volunteers’
“I don’t want to take it. There must be ” That’s ok, l don’t want you to take it either (-:`

Yeah, but nah–uh.)
What gets me is all the leftists/socialists are keen to take the vaccine.
That is all the information i need not to trust the vaccine
Apparently there’s a problem with the AstraZeneca vaccine if you’re under 50. But the rollout has been too slow!
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-04-08/scott-morrison-announces-pfizer-preferred-for-younger-people/100057184
(….But the rollout has been too slow!
What? The belated ‘securing’ an administration of an extra 10 million doses of Pfizer (after the government effectively went all-in on a hypothetical vaccine highly recommended (?) by an AZ director with overt (former?-)LNP affiliations; and ‘sovereign manufacturing’, by a privatised and publicly-listed CSL, almost entirely reliant on imported and licensed tech, precursors, and batch check; and to which a public-confidence-boosting commitment remains(?))? The vaccine Scotty needed to make a big deal about taking to convince the plebs to ‘trust the vaccine’? Quelle surprise!
But how many doses of Pfizer are there actually on hand and/or due for shipment, and when; and isn’t it fortunate that ‘phasing’ was always part of ‘the plan’ (except for a little bit of overlap and underlap, at the margins of peculiar exposure and/or vulnerability; thanks to the very professional TGA, which can only work with what’s ‘available’, oh, and that (ante)pen)ultimate oversighting and coordinating thingy headed up by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Minister (K)Hunt)?)
(And then after 12 months if they are still alive i might consider taking it.
Apparently, you might be waiting to find out for a bit longer than 12 months; especially as it’s, also, apparently, now necessary to take the time to assess the implications…of a national-cabinet(s)-in-confidence) revue.)
Apparently there’s a problem with the AstraZeneca vaccine if you’re under 50. But the rollout has been too slow!
Yes, and yes. But both come with caveats 😉

No worries Albo. They have four agreements – so one-to-two fewer than the arbitrary number you pulled out of your arse.
https://www.health.gov.au/node/18777/australias-vaccine-agreements
so one-to-two fewer than the arbitrary number you pulled out of your arse.
Actually, there are only three different vaccines there in your ‘agreements’, and we have only bought two, the largest buy being the cheapest.
And the key point there is ‘fewer’, and, both the opposition, and leading epidemiologists, have been calling for more options from the beginning

Fewer than Albo’s five or six? Yeah, why not seven or eight then? There’s no science involved. It’s just a Labor talking point.
There’s no science involved.

I mean, an epidemiologist IS a scientist, aren’t they?
“ I mean, an epidemiologist IS a scientist, aren’t they?”
Appeal to authority. Are epidemiologists proficient at negotiating deals with pharmaceutical companies? Anyone, including labor politicians and some as yet unnamed epidemiologists, can say there aren’t enough deals. Or, the rollout is too slow. Even you can say those things.
Appeal to authority.
ROFL
I distinctly recall someone declaring “There’s no science involved. “So, when I point out that, yes, science certainly WAS involved, you start crying about this ‘appeal to authority. So, do you want science, or not? Simple question.
Are epidemiologists proficient at negotiating deals with pharmaceutical companies? </i.
Should we go through the list of countries this mob have pissed off, not including China. I mean, just this week, he pissed of the entire EU again. I'm pretty sure an epidemiologist could have performed better.
Let's not forget that we were told, not that long ago, that we were "front of the queue". Guess we were just in the wrong queue 😉
“ “So, when I point out that, yes, science certainly WAS involved,”
No, it wasn’t. According to you, some unnamed epidemiologist gave their opinion about government policy decisions.

The Labor Party, as is their wont, seems to have listened to this
appeal to authorityprofessional advice. The libs, again, ignored the science, and went with their cheap and nasty option.“ a number of LEADING (in some sort of appeal I guess) epidemiologistSSS gave their professional advice on the best course of action.”
No worries. A link to these epidemiologists’ professional advice might show you’re not just making shit up.
A link you say?

Okay, that’s one – one! – opinion from one epidemiologist. Hardly evidence of the correctness or otherwise of the “there aren’t enough deals” talking point.

lol, tosy now reaching for his own ‘unappeal to authority’
When a scientists says ‘I think’, you should listen. Because, they thinking on their scientific experience
“I Think” they just may have been right (and so was Albanese to agree with them) 😉
(Always double-and/or-nothing-down on those secure(d) Monte Carlo scenarios; just a lay person’s (ex)plain(ed) English, (un)scientific opinion; for no and/or some reason; and certainly not because someone’s number(s) demonstrably is(/are) up and/or down, (un)scientifically-speaking.)
“When a scientists says ‘I think’, you should listen.”
I think you think scientists’ thinks are worth more than anyone else’s thinks, because they got themselves a degree.

I have an opinion. Our grubmint is STILL lying to us.

One problem with Science is that it is funded by grants. Most scientists do not have permanent jobs. So to keep their jobs they need to make claims that may or may not be true.
Like the Barrier Reef is dying because of Climate Change. Send more money to pay my salary or the reef may die

Ok Prince Phillip is old. I doubt anybody who posts here will make it to 99. But i did wonder if the jab shortened his life by say 6-12months. An old man may not be able to take the stress of the covid 19 jab
I do not want to take it. I read the golfer Greg Norman got the virus and he said he would not wish the pain on anybody. But he survived. I would rather have the pain of the virus rather than death from the jab

Not any more.
After laughing heartily at the stream of memes. my wife pointed out that, whatever his failings were (oh, they were many) Someone just lost their life partner. My wife, while not a Royalist, adored Princess Di, and respects the Queen a lot, even though she cannot understand how Royalty exists in this day and age. To be fair, far worse things exist that shouldn’t
Not only that, the Duke himself dedicated his life to playing second fiddle to a woman in order to maintain stability for a country he owed no allegiance too. (I also heard, he and his were Danish, no Greek blood either?)
I still laughed, but with a slightly different attitude to it.
99 is a pretty good innings/ What I do laugh at, is those claiming it’s some conspiracy. There’s always the crazies out there.
Yes TB, the master of announcements has announced there will be no more announcements announcing the Jab timeline.
He announced this on facebook, not a Government site. History is written by those who can hide away the nasties best I guess? Interesting choice after his recent embarrassment with them.
The cover ups here indicate that there is obviously nothing to see here.
NSW police passed up SA offer to take statement alleging sexual assault against Christian Porter

TR, the Feds have thoroughly stuffed the logistics of covid vaccinations as explained to me today by my GP (he’s a muso, too, so we get on well) … I have regular quarterly checkups …
Anyhoo … the conversation got around to the covid jab and what advice did he have for The Minister and me.
In brief … get the jab … AstraZeneca is OK the blood clot issue is about 1:500,000 the risk of death from covid infection is much higher … however …
He couldn’t give us the covid jab … GPs originally had to tender to deliver it and provide medical records of those that received the covid jab (that would have stopped us anyway – I refuse to have my personal medical data supplied to a government data base) …. then the GPs didn’t have to apply … then only some GPs could get it … (see a pattern here)
Our GP does approximately 60 flu injections a day from May on (including The Minister and me) … covid “approved” GPs are receiving 40 doses of vaccine a day …
What struck me was that a network of GPs handle the flu jab every year why not the same for covid? IT.IS.ALREADY.ESTABLISHED!
Just use it – no tenders, no detailed records handed over … just business as usual … the records are availbale in case of an issue.
And what do people do who do not visit their GP on a regular basis?
There is a lot of chatter about “hubs” … why? … there are GPs in every community.
BTW, there has to be a two week break between the flu and the covid jab …
Today our GP referred us to another local Medical Centre (five minute walk) to book for for the covid hit.
We are booked for Covid early May … and flu early June …
What fuss over what should have been a simple injection plan roll-out …
I refuse to have my personal medical data supplied to a government data base)
I did too. Seems the practices do what they want (or are asked), My details are there. Mind you, I cannot access them, nor can I get a hard copy. In fact, my wife paid $$ to get her history copied from one practice to another. She paid the money, and the new practice got a cover letter only with no details.
Your health history seems to belong to everyone, but yourself
What fuss over what should have been a simple injection plan roll-out …
It’s because it was driven by politics, not health care
I don’t see what the problem is with having medical history accessed by doctors on a data base.
It seems efficient
…and the vaccine roll out is a debacle
The #pm4men just got called out. Nice 🙂

but then they turn on anyone that behaves like a private sector CEO
No, only one was turned on.
The question is, was it because she was a woman, or was it because she had Australia Post returning to a functioning operation? That alone ruins the libs long term plans for privatization
The ALP was in on the behaviour and the entire episode was a disgrace. So where were the prominent ALP women calling this out?
It was politics at work at the expense of organisational success.
I hope she get lots of cash out of them
The ALP was in on the behaviour and the entire episode was a disgrace.

They asked questions in Estimates about it, as they should, but I don’t recall them asking her to stand down or any of the histrionics the pm displayed.
Happy to be corrected 😉
FMD you think asking a CEO of a multi billion dollar business about a small gift isn’t politicising the issue!!!
So where are the prominent ALP women calling this out?
It’s politics at its worst.
Disgraceful by every politician
“”””””During an excruciating cross-examination with Labor’s Senator Kimberley Kitching on Thursday, Ms Holgate confirmed that view to her critics as she revealed several executives were awarded Cartier watches ……………………………………………………………………………………………….Labor’s communications spokeswoman Michelle Rowland slammed the decision and urged the Morrison Government to act.

FMD you think asking a CEO of a multi billion dollar business about a small gift isn’t politicising the issue!!!
It’s Estimates. It’s what they’re supposed to fucking do. Ask questions.
So nil, where are the calls for her resignation? They are highlighting, correctly, that doing corporate bullshit like this is wrong in the context.
But, it’s not a sackable offence for the CEO, she doesn’t set those parameters. That’s the Governments purvey. That is that they are questioning. Quite rightly. Even yomm alluded to it above
politicians say they want private sector style innovation in their businesses, but then they turn on anyone that behaves like a private sector CEO
ALP senators led the charge against Ms Holgate in the senate enquiry. Others in the lower house were speaking against her as well:
https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/australia-post-spent-12-000-on-cartier-watches-for-employees-20201022-p567g4.html
Morrison and some of his ministers overreacted. They did hold an inquiry in conjunction with a legal firm and found she had done nothing wrong.
Nothing worse than a purvey government!
Both sides have played politics with Holgate. Tony’s and Neil’s links demonstrate that the ALP want just as grubby as the liberals
Public sector companies are always going to get second rate executives because of this behaviour. Therefore they will always under deliver
It’s pathetic
… but then they turn on anyone that behaves like a private sector CEO
You think handing out Cartier watches is “normal in the private sector … just which “sector” did you work in … Graft and Corruption?
FFS … its like giving a motor mechanic a new car … for “servicing and repair of vehicles” (ie their job!)
It was politics at work at the expense of organisational success.
Fucking cock … Aus Posts service has been crippled … ask any “contracted delivery owner” … like I do.
… multi billion dollar business about a small gift … Go to your local pub and ask them what they think about “a small gift” … just what planet are you on?
ALP senators led the charge against Ms Holgate in the senate enquiry. Others in the lower house were speaking against her as well:
Oh, dear, so they should!
Nothing worse than a purvey government!
Agree … especially one that can’t deliver!
Public sector companies are always going to get second rate executives because of this behaviour. Therefore they will always under deliver
Good managers don’t expect expensive gifts for doing their jobs – even toe cutters … but seconds rate managers do … just ask the AP bikies and parcel deliverers how “good” the changes to AP were … and how they “copped” it from “customers” … for decisions made by Holgate …
BTW a government doesn’t have “companies” …
And in defence of PUBLIC SERVANTS across the country … they are often more competent than their profit oriented counterparts … based on my professional interaction with many of them …
Wonder which one ToM will attend?
Bonuses are common. If these had been dollars instead of Cartier watches they would have been unremarkable.
Bonuses are common. If these had been dollars instead of Cartier watches they would have been unremarkable.
For the rich and privileged? Remember Ms Holgate’s predecessor?
Transformation? They acquired StarTrack … wow! (And then fucked that company up)
See a greedy pattern here? From senior* management?
*Read – old – management expectations …
Australia Post is not a Profit Centre for management it is a National Communications Service …
Note: Privatisation Does Not Work providing government services … imagine a privatised ADF … oh wait?
For the rich and privileged?
For anybody. Bad luck for you if you never got, say, a Christmas bonus from an employer.
In the private sector discretionary bonuses are common for a job well done.
A motor mechanic might get things like a family movie pass, a weekend away, a couple of days off, or a meal out.
A gift for an executive worth a few thousand isn’t unusual.
Not sure if he’s a real newsman or not. Either way, he makes some interesting points. (NSFW language warning.)
Bad luck for you if you never got, say, a Christmas bonus from an employer.
A $4,500 Cartier watch is a bit more than a Christmas bonus … or a Lion’s Christmas cake and a scratch it …
It is extreme …
A gift for an executive worth a few thousand isn’t unusual.
And never passes the pub test because its … extreme …
A manager NEVER pulls off a deal by themselves … team rewards are fairer and actually have a long term positive effect … rewarding a senior manager for work done by the team has long term negative effects … a “leader” (to quote Ms Holgate) should have known better …
However, her treatment after the event should have been handled much better … and certainly more discreetly than Scotty from Marketing handled it.
Taxpayers are now up for a massive legal payout … as well as paying for four fucking super expensive watches …
(Why do I get the impression that the previous two CEOs of Aus Post saw it as a cash cow?
Morrison and some of his ministers overreacted
Yea, a tad 😉
Nothing worse than a purvey government!
This is where I should insert that famous photo of the creepy potatoe dutton
Tony’s and Neil’s links demonstrate that the ALP want just as grubby as the liberals
Very slowly for those still asleep at the back of the class. It. was. questioning. in. senate. estimates.
They uncovered something that wouldn’t happen in a standard public service. Autralia Post isn’t. This is how the libs want it run, until they need a scapegoat to fully privatize it.
A gift for an executive worth a few thousand isn’t unusual.
Exactly. And, she was found to be well within her rights to do this. But the pm had already declared her guilty. Not Labor, they had asked questions, and questions as to if this is how our Postal Service should be run?
But yomm, who rails at bikkies and cardigans, cannot grasp these concepts
Why do I get the impression that the previous two CEOs of Aus Post saw it as a cash cow?
Because he did. He lashed out way more than she did, earned way more, and the new, male replacement will too, on both counts.
Very slowly for those still asleep at the back of the class. It. was. questioning. in. senate. estimates.
How do you explain Michelle Rowland’s comments then?
She. Is. Not. A. Senator.
A $4,500 Cartier watch is a bit more than a Christmas bonus … or a Lion’s Christmas cake and a scratch it …
It is extreme …
Okay, so it’s not the idea of paying bonuses that’s the problem, otherwise there’d be no Lion’s Christmas cakes given away. There must be some arbitrary amount under which bonuses are acceptable, but over which they are “extreme”. Who sets this amount and what is it?
She. Is. Not. A. Senator.
She. Is. Responding. To. Information. Discovered. In. Estimates
Information which anyone who wants Australia Post NOT to be run like corporate entity (which unfortunately it is) WOULD respond to. And yes, cleaning UP (not out) the board is what is required
Who sets this amount and what is it?
We should have some sort of budgetary Estimates questioning by Senators to work out these kind of questions.
I see we are currently AT WAR with a vaccine rollout ……..
TB is recommending “the pub test” as the new standard of corporate governance.
So we are now to round up “TB”s mates” to see whether some standard has been breached.
Luckily it’s not “James’ mates” because that standard (apparently) deserved ridicule
“They asked questions in Estimates about it, as they should, but I don’t recall them asking her to stand down or any of the histrionics the pm displayed.
Happy to be corrected ”
Since your happiness is important here ya go……………………….
Albanese – “perfectly reasonable that Christine Holgate resign”.
Watch from the 3:00 minute mark
https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6248831347001
Ok Wally, I’ll pay that, finally, albo saying she should resign.
If only they were in Government, it might mean something. 😉
Albo drinks at the same pub as TB.
“””””””””””””If only they were in Government, it might mean something.””””””””””””
Shows the difference between Howard and Morrison. Howard tended to do what he thought was right rather than bend the knee to the nasty ALP/Greens
rather than bend the knee to the nasty ALP/Greens
To be fair, Labor have called for many to step down, the difference is, they were all Government Ministers who had behaved terribly.
This one isn’t relied on for votes, so expendable
“Fake News” is just a meaningless slogan made up by a paranoid Donald Trump who imagined the news media was biased against him.
One good thing that may come out of this is that nobody in the Public Service should get any bonuses
Prime Minister Scott Morrison told Parliament last year that news of the gifts had appalled him. “It’s disgraceful and it’s not on,” he said.
Yet in the same year Ms Holgate gave her staff those rewards, at least 900 federal public servants received a personal performance bonus worth more than a Cartier watch.
Some received bonuses so large they could buy dozens of the watches, with plenty of cash to spare…In 2018 — the year of the watches — federal ministers’ delegates approved $40.8 million worth of performance bonuses for 15,633 APS staff, mostly to middle managers
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-05/analysis-cartier-watches-small-gifts-compared-with-aps-bonuses/13112804
Who sets this amount and what is it?
Agree, ToSy, but …
Who approves the expenditure?
ie I have had authority to spend over $100,000 without oversight (just do it) … but only for certain purchases … and Cartier watches???
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
TB is recommending “the pub test” as the new standard of corporate governance.
What can I say … I’m sure people here and ToMMY can figure that out …

Albo drinks at the same pub as TB.
Now, now, ToSY,
Albo is not a fave of mine …

Howard tended to do what he thought was right
And that was his eventual downfall … couldn’t even sday “sorr … sor … srr … sorry .. such a simple word that means so much …
Let’s not discuss the Republic questions … unless ….. you …. want …. to.

Ahhhh so that’s why Trump made up so much FAKE NEWS against the rapacious and vicious Left of politics?

LIke chimps writing Shakespeare we eventually agree – Kneel! Well done!
But Unions = BOO!
The latest data shows worsening outcomes for worker safety in the construction sector under the Morrison Government

“One good thing that may come out of this is that nobody in the Public Service should get any bonuses
LIke chimps writing Shakespeare we eventually agree”
Congratulations chimps! I figured Neil would eventually say something so stupid that TB would agree with it.
If you don’t reward performance above and beyond then you won’t get performance above and beyond. Pay peanuts – get chimps.
It is quite reasonable to pay a bonus to public servants who work massive unpaid overtime.
Of course variable remuneration is good practice for decision makers in both public and private sectors
The motion that decision makers in the public sector will innovate and take rapid corrective action is nonsense if they are only working for a fixed salary
Fixed salary for is a recipe for complacency. We have enough of that in the public sector without having remuneration structures that promote it
Pay peanuts – get chimps.
And for some reason, they can’t get people to pick peanuts. Weird that.
Albanese was correct to attack the watches decision, he wants a Public service. What was morrisons excuse? Or reason?
When the Coalition launched its extraordinary attacks on Australia Post CEO Christine Holgate last October – over an incident which occurred two years earlier – it knew it was on the cusp of being engulfed in a completely separate major scandal of its own.
https://www.theklaxon.com.au/home/holgate-sacrificed-for-coalition-blue-bloods-hgt7r
If you don’t reward performance above and beyond then you won’t get performance above and beyond. Pay peanuts – get chimps.
What right wing cock … the people who actually do the work – your insulting analogy of chimps – who also work many unpaid hours – are rarely rewarded equally to senior managers … it reeks of 17th century England … the rich get richer sitting around patting each other on the back and the workers get sweet fuck all …
Get a salary and expenses along with other perks that come with a senior managers job expect to work long hours – oh, wait, no they don’t, some other lowly salaried chimp can do that.
Apparently the salaries of the watch recipients are “not available” … convenient.
Most of the monkeys I’ve come across, sit around a boardroom table with occasional trips to the BS house.
I figured Neil would eventually say something so stupid that TB would agree with it.
Of course you did …
Public instrumentalities lack a sense of intelligent risk taking, the type of behaviour that makes many private companies successful
Executive discretion has to be encouraged, not stymied by political hacks, such as Albanese and Morrison
If Albanese wants more public service we can expect more time servers, chain draggers and loads of mediocrity
That’s Albanese preaching to the choir
If you don’t reward performance above and beyond then you won’t get performance above and beyond. Pay peanuts – get chimps.
I doubt if Public Servants got bigger bonuses you would get better performance.
“I figured Neil would eventually say something so stupid that TB would agree with it.

And of course .. you did!
“Get a salary and expenses along with other perks that come with a senior managers job expect to work long hours – oh, wait, no they don’t, some other lowly salaried chimp can do that.”
Is that the best you can do, Chimpy? Slag people of with wild generalisations. I guess you are too old, too lazy and too dumb to make a logical argument.
I have a family member at SES level who has been working 7 days a week for over a year now since the start of Covid. Cheap jibes from flatulent fatuous fuckwits like you say a lot about you and nothing about your intended target (of whom you are completely ignorant).
Public instrumentalities lack a sense of intelligent risk taking, the type of behaviour that makes many private companies successful
Yea, you mean like the CSIRO? They used to be at the cutting edge, now, they are a mere political tool wielded by numbnuts to feather the nests of their donors
https://www.csiro.au/en/about/achievements/top-10
Public ownership of operating companies does not make sense.
Tying up billions and billions of taxpayer funds for a poor return isn’t efficient use of public resources.
Keeping Australia Post in public ownership will end eventually, because delivery of letters will not be required. The problem is that it will probably be divested at the point where it is worthless
Is that the best you can do, Chimpy? Slag people of with wild generalisations. I guess you are too old, too lazy and too dumb to make a logical argument.
I expect no less from you, sb … I always know when you really can’t discuss an issue because it IS logical …
You are obviously not bright enough to figure out that the quote below (and above) is not only “logical” but factual argument …
But the majority of the money was handed to 2,500 workers who hold the title of either general manager, head of department or senior manager, at a cost of more than $60 million.
Just in case you misundertood
But the majority of the money was handed to 2,500 workers who hold the title of either general manager, head of department or senior manager, at a cost of more than $60 million.
… keep up the rants … and FYI I’m a firm believer in “stick n stones etc …” not playin’ yer dumb games …
BTW … Trump did actually lose the election last year … your support has always demonstrated a “wandering” imagination … hang in there …

I’m inclined to agree with you, ToM

So what?? The person should firstly should be thankful for that job. Without that job how would he/she pay the bills?
Secondly that person should be thankful that he/she has a job
Oh yes. lets give that person a taxpayer funded bonus as well
Andrew Peacock died. My favourite memory is pronunciation of his name- Ann-droopy-cock
“not playin’ yer dumb games …”
Thanks for playing, Chimpy.
But sadly, no cigar for you. Not even close.
“the quote below (and above) is not only “logical” but factual argument …”
The quote was merely a factoid. It wasn’t an argument. To move from fact to argument you need to reason from this fact to a conclusion. Unfortunately, that is not your game, is it?
If you actually want to improve yourself, go back and read the reasoning you accompanied the quote with in your original comment. There is nothing resembling a logical proposition anywhere in your bilious dreck. It’s all spite and bile.
Look, I get it TB. You get off on snarkily stereotyping your targets. But please don’t pretend that, in doing so, you make logical arguments.
Sadly, I’ve no doubt that, unlike your fellow Chimp, you were once capable of logical argument. But now your role in life is to serve as a warning to others about the dangers of senile dementia.
BLM stands for Buy Large Mansions, apparently.
Patrisse has previously told us she is a “trained Marxist”. By trained she must have meant gravy-trained.
Andrew Peacock died
Oh, bugger … I thought it was a prince or someone?
Seriously, I didn’t mind, Peacock, he had a way with the women If I recall (and they him!)

the Federal government has no idea how a national economy works … the same government wants to lose the next election
I would be interested to know how govt works. I suspect the Public Service presents a range of ideas to the relevant Minister then he/she makes the final decision. And that since 2007 the Public Service gets its way.
I doubt Peter Costello would have authorised the stimulus spending during the GFC
Eventually they catch up … sort of … 18 months to two years … and how many Diggers will die in that time?

The VVs will all be shaking their heads …
And I hope your local MP is more informed than my LNP twat … (who wandered around my lounge carpet in his work boots one day and was promptly told to leave the premises!) … who put out a taxpayer paid shiny brochure “celebrating” Anzac Day FFS!
I don’t “celebrate” a mate being blown up in a personnel carrier! And another mate’s brother killed in a firefight!
What a shit show. Not only do they release a video from the fucking 50’s, they then lie about it.
In the original media release announcing the Good Society, the education minister, Alan Tudge, and the minister for families, Anne Ruston, said the program had been developed in conjunction with Our Watch and Foundation for Young Australians.
Both organisations have since been quick to distance themselves from the project.
Foundation for Young Australians told Guardian Australia that while it had introduced the government to a young person in their network who may have taken part in a confidential reference group process, “FYA has not been asked to review, use or endorse the materials subsequently”.
Our Watch clarified in a press release on Friday that “Our Watch was consulted between late 2017 and early 2019 when the materials were being developed and provided advice … We have not been asked to use or endorse the materials subsequently.”

Following a disastrous year to date and countless political blunders, the ALP is only neck and neck with the government.
And Morrison remains preferred PM by a huge margin. This result is a more evidence that the electorate does not trust the ALP.
https://www.theage.com.au/politics/federal/voters-swing-against-coalition-but-morrison-still-preferred-pm-20210419-p57kh2.html
If you don’t like the results yomm, just change the way you measure them 😉
Sure, but the ALP is hardly making any impact, despite the government blundering in so many areas.
They have spent the entire year stumbling and bumbling. There is no portfolio they can regard as a political success, but they’re still neck and neck with the ALP
People just don’t trust the ALP
People just don’t trust the ALP
You read too much murdoch/stokes/costello/buttrose
Or do you write it?
As I’ve said, it is too easy to blame the media. There has been plenty of criticism/analysis of Porter, treatment of women (and concealment of complaints), botched vaccine rollout, end of jobkeeper, budget (mis) estimation… but the ALP can’t get anywhere.
Don’t blame the media, people just don’t trust the ALP
people just don’t trust the ALP
When you say ‘people’, do you mean only those who cannot work out a Kindle?
Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of them, sad to say
Good one. Reference acceptance of local council laziness as a differentiator in voter preference**
You might be right, ALP types appear far more willing to accept ineptitude and sloth from government services
(**Interestingly my local council eventually did exactly what I suggested regarding library services)
And I’d add, I’m use 2 library services, one in about the safest Liberal seat and the other in a marginal ALP seat on the coast.
The Liberal dominated council was unresponsive. The coastal council was far more interested in maintaining a service to the community.
So you and TB are entirely welcome to support the lazy ineptitude of the conservative council
The Liberal council is lazy and ineffective, and that is the fault of Labor voters
Gotchya 😉

Yep, the one’s over 18 who vote LNP.
I wouldn’t bother to make light of the sorid history of abuse by some political figures, just because they’re on your side of politics
The main difference between the ALP/Greens/socialists and the Coalition are that ALP/Greens do not care about people. Also they do not believe in borders
Just look at the USA. As soon as Biden is elected people start streaming across the border from South America
I wouldn’t bother to make light of the sorid history of abuse by some political figures, just because they’re on your side of politics
Actually making light of adults … comprehension is not your strong suite …
I think you meant … sordid … which peadophilia of any description is! In fact something I would gladly punish – harshly!
So let’s not get carried away … as if only ALP pollies are guilty of either crime mentioned above … it was politicised … long before my comment … on this thread.
It’s interesting that there have probably been as many ALP figures convinced of abuse of children as there have been “catlick” priests
But I don’t recall you pointing this out TB, or identifying that there is a problem with the left’s behaviour or inclination in this respect
It’s interesting that there have probably been as many ALP figures convinced of abuse of children as there have been “catlick” priests
“probably” hey. LINK.
Of course, the glaring difference is, that Labor take action, whereas catliks, and lnp, both just kick the can.
Of course, it’s also interesting that you remain mute over the CURRENT behaviour of the CURRENT Government, but come out swinging over historical events that were handled with directly at the time.
And of course, you’ll give a hand wave through of the current mobs abandonment, and then penny pinching bastardy, of thousands of Australians still stranded overseas.
I wonder, has any other country done this? Or have they all tried to repatriate their citizens?
Tom R you seem to have overlooked this CURRENT case:
LOOK, OVER THERE …
I see the grubmint has cut off Victorias growth pipeline, without offering anything in return (excpet more broken promises I guess)
Have they also torn up the Darwin ports sale, and the China FTA that so disadvantaged our businesses here?
Or is it just Dan Andrews they hate?
“comprehension is not your strong suite”
I think you meant “strong suit”. Comprende?
“as if only ALP pollies are guilty of either crime mentioned above”
True. There is one Green on the list. As well as the 8 Labor child molesters. Not so many Libs. Maybe you can tell us who they are? Or you might just acknowledge that when it comes to pedophiles, the vast majority of them are ALP.
It’s not that I like the Libs. They are more into cat-strangling, circle-jerking and corruption.
As to the latter, the ALP also rates fairly well, boasting the likes of Obeid and Tripodi who deposed an honest premier and replaced him with their girl – Kristina Kneely.
“Or is it just Dan Andrews they hate?”
All Australians should hate CCP lackey Running Dog Dan. Meanwhile those enamoured with communist dictatorships are all too happy to bend over and lube up. Take for example mongrel academic Jane Golley at the Press Club yesterday serving Beijing’s interests by downplaying CCP crimes against China’s Uighur population.
Tom R, you and your ilk may be happy to run interference for your communist confreres but most of us are too sickened by this vile totalitarian regime to welcome their tentacles here.
It’s interesting that there have probably been as many ALP figures convinced of abuse of children as there have been “catlick” priests
But I don’t recall you pointing this out TB, or identifying that there is a problem with the left’s behaviour or inclination in this respect
Didn’t know about the priests … “probably”? So why should I “point it out”?
I don’t GAFF who the pedo is … they are all sick and need some sort of “help” … I have a preference. 😣
Now they bit the bullet on the BRI … fuck ’em off from Darwin Port and recant that wanker Andrew Robb any government super and or perqs … and then stick the traitor in jail.
but most of us are too sickened by this vile totalitarian regime to welcome their tentacles here.
Some of us are merely more interested in what our own vile totalitarian regime is doing before casting stones. It hypocritical

Some of us are merely more interested in what our own vile totalitarian regime is doing before casting stones. It hypocritical
It should be noted that our detention centers were empty in 2007. Then Rudd/Gillard dropped our orders and locked up 50,000 boat people.
Look at what happened as soon as Biden was elected. Drop your borders and you get swamped by greedy people. Everybody in South America wants to live in the USA
There is no country with a perfect record of human rights, and Australia is far from that mark.
But (as I’ve said previously) it’s that attitude that would have prevented an international response to apartheid in South Africa. We were far from perfect and out “eminent person” was a former PM with a patchy record and Army Minister during the Vietnam War.
But Tom R, the concern about the Chinese government isn’t restricted to their human rights record.
The CCP has attempted to undermine the Australian economy, and punish us for not being a forelock tugger.
The CCP provides beneficial financial aid to wealthy countries while leaving hundreds of millions of their own people in abject poverty.

In what sense is the Australian government totalitarian? Victoria under Andrews is about as close as we get. And that isn’t very close.
There is no equivalence with China. In Australia we have more than one party. We have elections which can and often do result in change of government. Morrison is not dictator for life as Xi is. In fact Morrison would not be PM but for the incompetence and unloveliness of Shorten and Bowen.
It’s a mystery to me as to why Tom R thinks we should be a forelock tugger to the CCP.
China has territorial disputes with 17 countries, are they all wrong? There is no comparison between the brutal dictatorship that is the CCP and the Australian system of government
In fact Morrison would not be PM but for the incompetence and unloveliness of Shorten and Bowen.
Since this is a blog we can give stupid opinions.
I suspect since 2007 the Public Service has been running the country. The PS presents to the govt several policies which are socialist, ultra socialist and ultra ultra socialist. Rudd/Swan agreed with that. Since 2013 apart from border control the Coalition is no different to the ALP
There is no comparison between the brutal dictatorship that is the CCP and the Australian system of government
Except of course that we behave a lot like them
We bugged another countries embassy, in order to rip them off
We have committed unpunished war crimes
We are locking up people illegally
We keep secrets from our citizens
We have made it illegal to demonstrate against the Governments wishes.
We are more like China than some here want to admit
The difference is, China has lifted millions out of poverty, while our lot are sending more and more into it
fyi, I don’t support all of their decisions or statements
Guffaw!
“We have made it illegal to demonstrate against the Governments wishes.”
That’s Running Dog Dan for you!
TomR
You forgot to mention that Hockey said BOO and Holden up and left
Also Ford left when Gillard was PM in 2012 because Hockey
Back in the REAL WORLD
Rudd/Gillard dropped our borders in 2008 and locked up 8.469 children
What is it with ALP and kiddies?? Gillard even sent young children to Manus Island to be used as human shields
When LABOR locked up 8,000 children they did not even give them schooling. Morrison/Coalition had to do that
Bizarre. Try running a blog like this under the CCP.
TI’m R, that comment is facile
You appear to require perfection before we can comment on a county that has a specific policy of trying to undermine the Australian economy.
No one gets 100%, but any western democracy has a far more satisfied population than exists in China under the CCP
require perfection
lol, we were never perfect, but we are moving away from that now, not closer.
We are closer to China level brutal than ever before
But you keep looking over there, as long as you can ignore what is happening here
Australia ranks 9th in happiness/satisfaction. China ranks 94th, out of about 250 countries.
Even Greece with all their awful upheaval, restructuring and economic problems rank far higher than China.
It’s reasonable to look at and comment on such a dreadful regime.
Despite the difficulties in Australia, it remains one of the most world’s most satisfied populations.
The left needs to be careful not to meddle too much with a successful system
…150 countries…
What is ‘context’ yomm?
The happiness leader in 2020 is China with 93% reporting to be happy (up 11 points from last year and moving up from third place), followed by the Netherlands (newly added this year) with 87%, Saudi Arabia with 80% (up two points).
Both of last year’s top countries, Canada and Australia, show a notable drop in the percentage of their citizens surveyed who report being happy: Canada with 78% (down eight points) drops to fourth place in a tie with France (down two points) and Australia with 77% (down nine points) falls to sixth place.

Are you serious!!??
Try this, an international report under the auspices of the United Nations. It has been around for a decade and was intended to provide a little balance to the constant measure of GDP per capita as an indicator of success
China ranks lowly and western democracies occupy most of the top rankings.
The people of China are clearly and deeply dissatisfied with life under a brutal dictatorship
Take it up with the United Nations if you don’t like it.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Happiness_Report
Speaking of kiddies, what is it with the TomR, TB of Queensland and the ALP with children??
https://www.sbs.com.au/news/young-looking-refugees-sent-offshore
The youngest-looking children were sent to a harsh refugee detention camp to send a message of deterrence to other asylum seekers, an inquiry has heard
Gregory Lake, the former director of offshore processing and transfers at the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, told the inquiry he was directed by a ministerial staff member to choose the youngest-looking children from among those eligible for the first transfer of detained people from Australia to Manus Island in 2012, when Labor was in government.
“Because they wanted to send a deterrent message, it was important to send some children, to say that children are not exempt from transfer,” Mr Lake said.
Yes yomm, it tells a similar story, Australia dropping, China rising
But Andrews baaad
Hilarious!! Australia is near the very top of the ranking, the brutal dictatorship of China has them ahead of mainly other brutal dictatorships.
That’s their cohort.
Ours is civilised democracies that rely on the rule of law.
Yet, according to you we shouldn’t talk about brutal dictatorships
Australia is near the very top of the ranking
12th, and dropping
the brutal dictatorship of China
52, and climbing
Ours is civilised democracies
yea, tell it to clive/murdoch/stokes/costello/buttrose
Yet, according to you we shouldn’t talk about brutal dictatorships
No, according to me, we should be able to chew guim and walk, but you are always happy to ignore what is happening here, by always looking ‘over there’
Tom R, you are as pathetically ridiculous as Baghdad Bob, but less truthful.
In the credible UN report, Australia maintains a high position, 12th and we’re in outstanding company at that level.
China is 94th and ranks with despotic basket cases.
But go ahead and tell us how great things are when a brutal dictatorship runs a country and we dare not discuss them
*** (This thread is getting a little too long for my feeble mobile, so I might have to reply to Tom R’s inanity on a shorter one)
China is 94th and ranks with despotic basket cases.
Funny, the report I read said 52
but less truthful.
Bah, just delete it, it’s what despots do.
TomR, TB of Queensland and all ALP/Greens voters
Why did you send young kiddies to Manus island to be used as a deterrent???
What is it with the ALP and children???
https://www.sbs.com.au/news/young-looking-refugees-sent-offshore
China ranks 94th and I can’t see a report where it is anywhere significantly different.
This makes sense, people prefer a country with a transparent rule of law to an unresponsive and brutal dictatorship
And remember that China still has hundreds of millions in abject poverty yet they provide beneficial financial aid to wealthy countries.
Figure that out
The left needs to be careful not to meddle too much with a successful system
Meddle? Royal Commissions are useless if no action is taken, corruption with funding, LNP politicians skimming and scamming, still no ICAC … meddle? What successful system … the current system is being rorted all over the country …
If there is a “successful” system I’d like to see it …
Pointing a finger at China does not solve the social issues that Australia is still coming to terms with … and Australia’s list is way too long …
My fear is the sabre rattling gets serious …
TB of Queensland
If you want to teach me how to lock up 8,469 children i am all ears
How many kiddies do you plan to lock up if Labor gets back into power??
Actually i think Biden/USA will lock up more than you could hope for
Like all lefties do do not believe in borders
You might explain how to eliminate poverty TB given that this is the definition used here
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) defines the poverty line as half the median household income of the total population2. In Australia this translates to a single adult living on less than $426.30 a week. For a couple with 2 children, it was $895.22 a week
In China, about $2.50 a day is the poverty line.
Do you notice the difference?
Do you notice the difference?
What difference … you’re comparing eggs with apples … you quote OECD and compare it with China … China is not a member of the OECD …
Lies, damn lies and statistics …
Yep. China uses $2.50 a day to measure poverty and still has hundreds of millions below that.
Yet it offers beneficial financial aid to wealthy countries.
Bizarre, but Tom R thinks we shouldn’t talk about that kind of thing
You might explain how to eliminate poverty TB
If you ever comprehend (actually read and understand) my comments ToM … I already have proposed how …
What you conveniently ignored was this …
3.24 million people in Australia (13.6% of the population) live below the poverty line. 774,000 children under the age of 15 (17.7% of all children in Australia) live below the poverty line.
More than one in eight adults and one in six children live below the poverty line in Australia.
The poverty rate in Australia is worse than in most other wealthy countries. It is worse than in New Zealand, Germany and Ireland, according to the latest figures from the OECD.
I don’t live in China … nor do I live in that other extreme basket case the USofA … I live in AUSTRALIA … many Australians are struggling …
Chuckle … here’s a clue why you can’t compare China with OECD …
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1086836/china-poverty-ratio/
And this is nothing to be “proud” of The Successful System …
https://www.statista.com/statistics/233910/poverty-rates-in-oecd-countries/
BTW did you notice I provide links …
Yep. China uses $2.50 a day to measure poverty and still has hundreds of millions below that.
LIes, damn lies and statistics …
And you think China is inhumane … but ignore the bitterness and cruelty (or pure incompetence) of the political party you support for the poor, aged, disabled, unemployed, veterans … ironic? ignorant? hypocritical? or deliberate?
The incarceration of a family from Biloela (WHEN BILOELA SUPPORTS THEM) is nothing short of arrogant concentration camp mentality! It.Is.Cruel.
You never call the LNP out … yet you know that I’ve called out the ALP (most recently that Albo is not national leader material) …
EventuallyFInally they catch up … FFS the GP network was always the best logistical method …This Federal government is so (slowly) incompetent it makes your eyes water … 😪
The incarceration of a family from Biloela (WHEN BILOELA SUPPORTS THEM) is nothing short of arrogant concentration camp mentality! It.Is.Cruel.
Too funny.
TB you dropped our borders in 2008 and locked up 50,000 boat people. The Biloela family was locked up in 2012.
From 2008-2013 YOU also locked up 8,469 children
Give it a miss mate. U R a man who enjoys locking up kiddies. Hopefully people like you will NEVER get into power to lock up children again.
Lefties are now in power in the USA. Who knows how may kiddies Biden will lock up
BTW did you notice I provide links …
Yea, but he provides … numbers he probably read on sky dark 😉
I see slowno took his lying to an international audience last night. Luckily for ‘Straya, his techs made the rest of the world miss out on a lot of them
Wow, he really was shameless, trumPian even, in his bullshit last night
Our very own Comical Ali thinks Scummo is bad on climate change so I suppose we can’t criticise China until we ourselves are perfect:
Happy Earth Day, motherfucker:
Trouble is, even China is doing better than we are. They aren’t lying to the world, they are just using the hand they got dealt to it’s fullest.
As we are, but we are also lying about it.
Happy Mirth day
“Trouble is, even China is doing better than we are.”
Of course they are, Beijing Boy! Your social credit score must be through the roof. Soon you’ll qualify for cash payments, all expenses paid travel and a couple of Uighur slaves.
Sanitary napkins make great face masks – just ask AOC:
Ah, at lest you have harmless slurs to go without any facts splats 😉
While oz has …. minitrump
Arggh fuck NO
ROBO_PLANNING!!!
How much deeper can this mob go? (NO, it’s not a challenge ffs)
Harmless slurs??? ‘Motherfucker’ is a term of endearment!
‘Motherfucker’ is a term of endearment!
Not to your mother it aint
it is disturbing that people this ignorant are so important
Perhaps you can explain why? I mean, we DO need to get C02 out of the atmosphere, IF you are convinced by the weight of scientific evidence.
My mother is dead, so it is worse than you imagine!
Also, without CO2 in the atmosphere things would be much worse especially for vegetation.
The Gigolo Traitor is one of the few people on the planet stupider than AOC.
Lowest common denominator, I guess:
Also, without CO2 in the atmosphere things would be much worse especially for vegetation.
I’m sorry, did he say to take ALL the C02 out of the atmosphere, or are you, or your Twit, just pretending that’s what he said?
For your mum then
In context my interpretation is more accurate. He was using remove in the sense of get rid of.
lol, yea splats, yor ‘interpretation’ is what you want
Enjoy your Fantasia 😉
Comical Tom R!
In my context, You just said Genius Tom R 😉
It’s true. You are genius level rapid-response troll. Tom R. One of the best in the business.
Lowest common denominator, I guess:
er, no … bad guess, read the article … (and its pretty much the same as Aussie high schools curriculum …)
https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/trump-border-wall-ladders/
How Much!
The Phollies of Politicains costing the WORLD
mBillions … who let the dickheads loose!“read the article”
I did. Did you not read it? Or not comprehend it?
The article reports that, in the name of “equity”, the accelerated maths course is being abolished. This means kids who would normally be stimulated by doing maths at a challenging level will be bored rigid.
Perhaps you can tell me what “equity” has to do with it?
This change is just another manifestation of the epidemic of black on Asian racism and violence sweeping the US.
“(and its pretty much the same as Aussie high schools curriculum …)”
No surprise there. The leftist dogs who control our education system have been fucking it up for years:
Boring the shit out of the most mathematically gifted students isn’t going to help reverse that decline is it?
(Boring the shit out of the most mathematically gifted students isn’t going to help reverse that decline is it?
Boring the shit out of everyone (else) does/n’t leave much of a demand/meet (latent) demand for (more/more (cross-)transfer of) mathematical gifts, eh?)
What’s the problem? The same marketing plan for most religions … 😊
FFS! 😈

Jesus Christ! 🙄
God makes ‘im do it!
Welcome to 1721 …
Flight records show a Dassault Falcon jet, the type operated by the Royal Australian Air Force for VIP flights for dignitaries and politicians, flew from Sydney to the Gold Coast on Monday afternoon, then back to Sydney on Monday night.
So where were the fkn angels …
And Dutton didn’t object this time?
It gets worse! The Minister for (Un)employment Attacks was there!
