The Morrison Govt’s Covid response is nothing short of a fucking disgrace!

CLICK THE IMAGE FOR A CLEARER VIEW
THE INSIPID so-called “journalist” Michael Rowland, over at what used to be one of the ABC’s ‘flagship’ news programs “News Breakfast” but now more resembling a low-rent ‘magazine/lifestyle’ show chaired by the vacuous Lisa Miller, has taken to twitter to ‘congratulate’ the Morrison government and Health Minister Greg “rhyming slang” Hunt for his monumental achievement that a remarkable 7.1% of Australians are now fully vaccinated.
Rowland could barely contain his excitement, declaring that while the figure is ‘not great’ it was good to have the update from the Health Minister.

Are you fucking kidding me??
The Morrison government has had 18 months to get its act together, firstly with organising a national, coordinated approach to constructing purpose-built quarantine facilities within arm’s reach of Australia’s international airports and secondly by ordering sufficient quantities of vaccine.
But here we are, almost two years later with neither, and yet the media give Morrison and his incompetent rabble a free pass.
As the chart above shows, as at 27, June 47% of people in USA are fully vaccinated while in the UK it’s just shy of 50%.
For the mainstream media to be ‘congratulating’ the Morrison govt for achieving a paltry 7% while other developing nations are beginning to open up while we’re being flung back into lockdown illustrates how poorly we are served by those whose mandate should be to hold those in power to account.
If you don’t know what that is, I’ll give you a hint…
IT’S A FUCKING DISGRACE!

If I were a virus trying to ensure my survival, I’d become more infectious and less lethal. That way I’d spread to as many hosts as possible without killing them off .
Which is what seems to be happening with the Indian I mean Alpha strain.
Delta. They renamed it from India to Delta. Naming viruses after their place of origin goes back to the Spanish flu but you can’t do that now.
If there was a Brisbane version, I would try to give it any other name.
By the way-, how good is it that EVERYWHERE else is in lockdown!!!
It seems those people just can’t obey the rules.
By the way-, how good is it that EVERYWHERE else is in lockdown!!!
It’s good, but we should enjoy it while it lasts. Past performance is a good indicator of future hotel quarantine leaks.

But to understand that last statement you must understand the history of China and the meaning (and reason for The Great Wall of China) and in fact China has never invaded another “country” … but has been invaded by many …. read “On China” by Henry KIssinger to get an understanding ….
China has territorial disputes with most of its neighbours.
Great work CCP
The Chinese Communist Party certainly likes the odd war:
List of wars involving the People’s Republic of China
The genocidal CCP is also pretty good at ethnic cleansing.

The CCP will be well pleased with your efforts, Tom R, which is why that Aldi bag of cash ended up on your door step. As that sort of thing is a common occurrence in the ALP you probably thought it was merely your due.
Your usual MO is to leap into action as soon as any Australian criticises your beloved CCP. A truly great rapid response troll, you then repeatedly damn all critics of the genocidal maniacs who run China.
Finally, sotto voce, you might grudgingly concede that China has some issues but Australians need to shut up about them.
Your Beijing masters are no doubt glowing with tumescent admiration at the servile self-debasement you subject yourself to on their behalf.
Ask Gladys Liu about political donations splats
And yes, I always note that China is a repressive, belligerent cuntry. Just like we are.
Kevin Rudd’s forensic takedown of Hunt and Morrison’s botched vaccine rollout is a site to behold…

I’m beginning to wonder if slomo will make it to the next election, or if he will be replaced by another misogynistic ass-wipe. But at least they may not be a fundamentalist qanon nutjob
Morrison also does not seem to see politics as getting people together to solve problems. He is a solo operator that tends to bully and bluster and cajole.

Standard lines from CCP apologists-
* We can’t criticise them, look at our human rights record…(acknowledging that while ours is nothing to be proud of, it is zilch compared to the CCP)
* But thry’re our major trading partner…(suggesting that we put profits before national security)
* It’s racist…( lazy…is a brutal dictatorship a race?)
* Morrison offended them…(ignoring that government statements didn’t mention China)
* Look at Trump!…(who was beaten in a democratic election)
* It’s all a media beat up…(so Murdoch apparently causes territorial disputes between China and most of its neighbours)
Thanks for that, ToM … most enlightening as usual … 😶
… a site to behold… Indeed, reb … (BTW I saw what you did there 😉 noice w/p )
You noticed another gem from Brisbane … 😊
Eventually they catch up … 😎
suggesting that we put profits before national security

Gladys Liu
Twiggy using taxpayer dollars for useless masks
A free trade agreement that gave away Aussie jobs to Chinese ones
ignoring that government statements didn’t mention China
Yea, Shanghai Sam wasn’t on Government letterhead, so doesn’t count. Right 😉
Oh yes yomm, do go on ……………
More from the CCP apologist!
All that means we deserve all those trade sanctions!
Just like Norway a decade ago, when the Nobel Prize was awarded to a Chinese dissident
What is it about Melbourne?
And news.com.au’s stupid headlines
Starpharma fined $93,000 for Viraleze nasal spray over ‘illegal advertising’
A Melbourne-based global biopharmaceutical company has been fined more than $93,000 for its alleged illegal advertising of a spray not approved for use in Australia that claims to stop SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes Covid-19.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration issued seven infringement notices totalling $93,240 to Starpharma Holdings Limited.
$93 grand for a “global pharma company” is HUGE! I call bullshit!
Darwin Ports
Have we retained control yet?
No good asking, ToM … blind in one eye can’t see out ‘tother!
As a contrast (some folks here don’t like contrasting 🙄 ) fk em
NRL hits Dragons players with $305k in fines for Covid-19 breach</b.
All that means we deserve all those trade sanctions!
ffs. there was even a handy list (which left out a heap of more random racist remarks made)
NOTE: Highlighting one groups bad behaviour dies not equate supporting another groups bad behaviour.
But that is a bit difficult for some to comprehend
Have we retained control yet?
It feels like it’s been 99 years already 😦
Apologist for the CCP.
We deserve all that they’re giving us, because some politicians proved to be inadequate at brown nosing
Things are looking pretty grim atm
Where being overtly racist and bullish = “inadequate at brown nosing”
Apologist.
I haven’t seen you make a comment that is critical of the CCP. It’s-
* We did it to ourselves
* Look at our record
” Look at the USA
* Criticism of the CCP is racist
I haven’t seen you make a comment that is critical of the CCP.
Pretty sure I’ve already mentioned how shit you are at reading, just like splats
Yes, it’s a severe beating with a wet lettuce

Damning condemnation of the CCP
I guess there’s no lockdown in Melbourne reading, Tom’s rants. Ah well …

‘Kill the chicken to scare the monkey’??)
“I always note that China is a repressive, belligerent cuntry.”
Well not always. More like once in a while when pressed.
“Just like we are.”
And this is where the false equivalence kicks in and what makes your CCP handler so happy.
More like once in a while when pressed
Sorry if I concentrate more on our own Government instead of ‘looking over there’
And this is where the false equivalence kick
Like I said, if you looked more here than there, you might see how similar we are becoming.
You clearly don’t bother to look at and consider-
* Amnesty international report on China vs Australia (or even the USA
* The history of the CCP in overreacting and imposing trade sanctions, look at the punishment of Norway over the awarding of the Nobel Prize to a Chinese dissident
* The clear manipulation of Australian institutions by the CCP
**,You excuse all that, which is why you’re an apologist for a brutal dictatorship
* Amnesty international report on China vs Australia (or even the USA
We went through that, We didn’t stack up very well
* The history of the CCP in overreacting and imposing trade sanctions, look at the punishment of Norway over the awarding of the Nobel Prize to a Chinese dissident
Look at our hissy fit over the GBR ffs
* The clear manipulation of Australian institutions by the CCP
Let’s not talk about Timor-Leste 😉
**,You excuse all that, which is why you’re an apologist for a brutal dictatorship
No, I care more about OUR failures, not others. It’s very simple really
Yes, Australia isn’t perfect, but you’re specifically saying that they’re “just like we are” is about the most outrageous excuse for brutality I’ve seen.
It is wilfully ignorant or so dishonest it defies the bounds of mainstream political opinion.
Infact it’s ignorant and dishonest
“In fact it’s ignorant and dishonest”
Exactly. I’m sure Tom R’s next payment from the CCP will arrive in a wallet made from the skin of one of the many Uighur victims of the CCP.
is about the most outrageous excuse for brutality I’ve seen.
Are talking about our treatment of Asylum Seekers?
Or our treatment of First Nations peoples?
Maybe the unemployed?
Or those in Aged Care?
Perhaps take your pick yomm
Apparently Australia giving AstraZeneca vaccines (which we now have in abundance) to nearby countries like Timor Leste, means we are sabotaging China’s foreign aid program – according to their state-run media and their useful idiots here in Australia (does anybody know one?).
… their useful idiots …
Please explain?
Meanwhile Tom R digs himself further into the hole of dishonest, wilful ignorance to try to compare some of Australia’s intractable problems with the deliberate brutality of the CCP
The CCP is no doubt proud that they’ve sent a car to Mars while leaving hundreds of millions of people in abject poverty, below their meagre poverty line of about $2.50 a day.
The left must be proud of having a car on Mars!
TR, after reading the comments above attacking you …
I’m sure you realise that right wing political “soldiers” are steeped in christianity, cronyism, nepotism, hypocrisy, colonialism, royalism, climate denialism, nationalism , lies, globally connected to right wing propaganda, deception, attack, profit at all costs, denial of the needy, poor, sick and aged … and are dedicated to “the cause” win at all costs … and I suspect would support slavery, exploitation and trafficking … (we know how they treat children)
Pity none of them have been to Barcaldine … for the Tree of Knowledge destroyed by right wing activists … it LIVES!
The right (try to) suppress ordinary folk … ’tis about power and control (learned through twisted religious “belief”) … constantly … but use them for their wars and aggression … Australia has only been invaded once … but how many countries has “modern” Australia invaded …
Truth is truth … pity the “enablers” are sucked into untruth after untruth … generation after generation … war after war …
They seek The End of Days … right wing politicians continue to poke the dragon of China … because others will fight the battles … they believe its David and Goliath – NOT – but if the world dies … then Revelation … the good will rise … but the believers are in for a deadly shock!
with the deliberate brutality of the CCP
Oops, we accidentally ripped Timor-Leste off
Oops, we accidentally marginalized First Nation people

As I’ve said I the past, Tom R’s attitude would have prevented Australia’s participation in an the international effort to end apartheid in South Africa, because we weren’t perfect.
Clutching at straws in being an apologist for a brutal dictatorship
“Scuse my cynicism … “an error” … FFS!
Doncha love the way their ‘errors’ always benefits one groups, and hurts another. It’s almost as if there was a method to the ….. mistakes
Clutching at straws in being an apologist for a brutal dictatorship
Keep clutching then 😉
It’s funny, a few years ago, you were cheering the Chinese on for stealing Aussie jobs. Now … How the worm has turned.
I wonder how a dictatorship would run a vaccination program?
“Scuse my cynicism … “an error” … FFS!
Whoops, they did it again (just to prove my earlier point about who their ‘mistakes’ hurt and help)
The good old days, before it was official CCP policy to try to f**k the Australian economy and undermine public confidence
…but we deserve it
I mean, it’s not that your fixated or anything, but among all the posts about total fuckups and total totalitarianism going on, your issue is … China
1. The CCP has attempted to undermine the Australian economy, and used the pandemic to undermine public confidence. I think that’s worth commenting on. Particularly in the context of you saying they’re “just like us”
2. The vaccine rollout debacle isn’t a point of debate
3. I think you mean “you’re”
“I mean, it’s not that your fixated or anything, but among all the posts about total fuckups and total totalitarianism going on, your issue is … China”
Hilariously hypocritical, Tom R! You’ve posted about the same number of times on China. It’s what rapid response trolls do.
Unfortunately your replies are repetitive and meretricious – all in support of a tyrannical dictatorship which has killed tens of millions of its citizens over the years. Just like Australia, I suppose?
Yes, China is an authoritarian regime
Yes, we are an authoritative regime
I’m going to concentrate on our country first, which doesn’t mean I’ll ignore what goes on outside. It also doesn’t mean that I won’t highlight how rubbish some of the accusations are, or how obvious the race baiting has been.
But as for OUR dicktator
The Carbon Club looks interesting too, TR
We may not have started it TB, but we are surely pouring the kero on it 😉

Spent the day at Sirromet Winery … how they can charge so much for “wine” I’ve no idea …
Tour of production, wine tasting … seven wines … lunch … nice mixed med style platter and then lamb shanks or pizza (pretty nice pizza too) …
Our two friends and The Minister and I had a nice relaxing day.
I volunteered to drive (45 minutes from home) so wine tasting was a slight sip of, very tannin, dry finish, Merlot/Shiraz and a very sweet port. Glass of passable sauv blanc with lunch
(Our daughter gave us a Red Balloon Gift Card for Christmas so we invited our friends and shared their cost … good value for four …)
BTW was surprised at the number of NSW number plates on the road too …
Was the same when Dan’s mob went walkabout to Qld … tho their number plates were Victorian 🤣
More than Awks. Busted bullshitting again
Funny how YoM could never STFU about Dan Andrews’ COVID management, but when it comes to the sheer incompetence of Gladys and ScoVid’s NSW clusterfuck and shambolic vaccine rollout he’s MIA.
In fact, I’m begin to think he’s actually Jeff Kennett.
Well, Victoria reached over 700 cases a day, and spent the majority of the year in lockdown. So NSW hasn’t yet reached Dan’s lead standard.
Mind you, I’m deeply unhappy with the vaccination rollout, because I want my overseas surf safaris. What’s the use of being retired if you have to stay in Australia?
What’s the use of being retired if you have to stay in Australia?
What a narrow focus you have … and what happened to “beautiful” Melbourne?
BTW have you checked the o/seas covid stats lately? At surfin’ hangouts? 😷
This must have been a little bit like WW2 Europe where you could be asked “”papers please”” if you went outside. Apparently we have to carry ID with us if we leave our homes in Greater Sydney and show it if asked by the Police. And you cannot browse while shopping or you could be fined. You have to walk in get what you want and then leave.
It is amazing how obedient people are.
So NSW hasn’t yet reached Dan’s lead standard.
………..
I’m deeply unhappy with the vaccination rollout

“Funny how YoM could never STFU about Dan Andrews’ COVID management, but when it comes to the sheer incompetence of Gladys and ScoVid’s NSW clusterfuck and shambolic vaccine rollout he’s MIA.”
The differences is 800 corpses. Let me know when Gladys catches up. Until then Stairman Dan retains his title as Australia’s greatest mass-murderer.
Meanwhile back with the Biden crime and incest family:
Let me know when Gladys catches up.
If she did, it would mean that she had learned nothing from the hard lesson learned, on the fly, and the feds were still hopelessly inadequate in regards to aged care.
It would also ignore that, back then, there was no vaccine, they were even guessing how it transmitted.
The Andrews government showed, through its successes and failures, HOW to beat this. NSW is ignoring those lessons, on purpose.
Meanwhile, seems even the governments alleged successes, delayed by months as they are, aren’t its own
“ and the feds were still hopelessly inadequate in regards to aged care.”
Most of the aged care deaths were in Victoria so it must be the feds fault.🙄
Most of the aged care deaths were in Victoria so it must be the feds fault.
If the feds were/are “responsible” for aged care – then yes. 🙄
This fed government has a really consistent habit of blaming everyone else except itself … ably assisted by its enablers …
If the feds were/are “responsible” for aged care – then yes.
But, but, why weren’t there aged-care deaths in other states? Did the feds only mismanage the Victorian facilities? Or did Dan and his cronies fuck things up to such an extent that 800 people died – in all settings, including aged care?
sigh

In NSW
“””””The 17 deaths in aged care facilities account for 40 per cent of the state’s 42 deaths””
Pretty much indicates that NSW are shit at protecting their population compared with Vic doesn’t it nil, as the percentage of deaths in aged care was way higher in vic, almost all of them occurred in them there
Dan’s areas of expertise-
* Long winded and self important speeches
* Fine the population into cowering compliance
* Oversee a thuggish police force
* 700 cases a day. Still the record holder!
(Most of the aged care deaths were in Victoria so it must be the feds fault.
Meh; the mo(u)ldy-oldies, whether initially, in NSW, or, subsequently, Victoria, were getting in the way of living alongside the virus and/or acquiring herd immunity; besides, most of the deaduns probably only had days or weeks left to live, anyways, what with their comorbidities, like chronic malnutrition, and in the absence of life-saving therapeutics, like aquarium-grade (hydroxy)chloroquine or highly-theoretical, fry-before-ya-die (UV-)light(-emitting) injectables, (ir)regardless of any foreseeability(ies), or any (non-(delegable) duty(ies) of care actually to develop and to implement a first edition national aged care plan, rather than an(other) announceable.)

* Crushed Covid 😉
lols, dumbass media getting told, again
* Systemic failure
Pretty much indicates that NSW are shit at protecting their population compared with Vic doesn’t it
17 deaths in aged care facilities in NSW does not sound a lot. Also they may have died with Covid not because of it.
* Fine the population into cowering compliance
Why did they have to?
Obviously not just Dan’s fault then … 😏
17 deaths in aged care facilities in NSW does not sound a lot.
You have expertise in aged care?
Systemic failure
“You keep using that word …”
Here’s where it fits 😉
“You have expertise in aged care?”
Obviously Chimpy the Younger has enough to know that 17 dead is a much better number than the 650 or so murdered in Victoria by ALP corruption. Do you disagree?
Melbourne used to be the world’s most livable city, for years.
Now it isn’t even Australia’s most livable. Doesn’t come second either.
Thanks Dan
Now it isn’t even Australia’s most livable. Doesn’t come second either.
Dan’s only mismanaging Melbourne/ Victoria as an example to other states of what not to do.

fyi, an old friend was overweight, even though she ate healthily. For years she suffered ridicule, turned out, she was full of cancer, which killed her
Two thirds of people are overweight.. Most of that is due to diet, so most people are far by choice.
Very few are overweight due to illnesses.

tosy is still bullshitting
Oh really? Are you for the “in danger” listing, or against it?
I’ll go slowly, again, because it’s been said, before
It’s. good. that. issues. are. highlighted.
It’s. bad. that. it. had. to. be. done.
Is that slow enough for you?
That’s a Gold Standard #FarQueue
Is that slow enough for you?
No. Are you for or against UNESCO listing the GBR as “in danger”?
FOR. or. AGAINST. are. the. only. two. possible. answers.
Here is a good reason not to buy garlic from China even if it is half the price
https://www.bedtimez.com/worldwide/foods-exports-ta/5
“”””Garlic
If you haven’t noticed a very clear pattern, then here it is: pesticides are the predominant issue in China’s agriculture industry. This problem stems from China not enforcing many laws as a method of regulating pesticide use. Due to this, garlic from China may contain pesticides.””””
REALLY SLOWLY
It’s. good. that. issues. are. highlighted.
It’s. bad. that. it. had. to. be. done.
Of course, you then extrapolate that to mean I’m saying ‘it’s good that people suffer because of it.
Basically, you make up bullshit 😉
Basically, you make up bullshit 😉
Basically you’re just evading the question. But that’s your usual MO so no surprises there.
Do you support the GBR “in danger” listing, YES or NO?
Basically you’re just evading the question
Watch me dodge, what me wheel. But whatever you do, don’t read what I write 😉
It’s. good. that. issues. are. highlighted.
(That’s a yes for the slow ones)
But it’s BAD, that it came to this.
(That’s a yes for the slow ones)
Wow, finally! It wasn’t that hard was it.🙄
Tom R supports an unelected body at the UN, listing Australia’s Great Barrier Reef as “in danger”. Good to know, even though his masters in the federal Labor party say “nobody wants” this listing, and their shadow environment minister says it could cost 64,000 jobs. Oh, and don’t forget the head of the organisation recommending the listing says climate change is the main reason, but Australia can’t solve that problem, it will require international action.
Great. Just great.
It wasn’t that hard was it
It is precisely what I have said form the get go. If you cannot understand English, complain to your teachers
lols
Great. Just great.
Ah, so you support any damage this may do I see.
Ah, so you support any damage this may do I see.
No, that was sarcasm. What’s your excuse?
What’s your excuse?
That you can’t read. We literally just went through this [facepalm]
Tom R supports an “in danger” listing of the GBR that would adversely affect tourism (according to Labor, both federal and Queensland state, to the tune of 64,000 jobs), hospitality, farming including cattle, agriculture including sugar, mining, fishing, shipping, ports, not to mention the reputational damage to the GBR in particular, and Queensland and Australia in general.
Tom R supports an “in danger” listing of the GBR recommended by an unaccountable group of overseas bureaucrats that have no skin in the game except for their use of the world’s biggest coral reef system as a totem for their climate activism.
Tom R supports an “in danger” listing of the GBR that Australia can do nothing to remove. According to UNESCO the main reason for the recommendation is climate change, a problem they say Australia can not solve. They don’t mention the fact that for the past 50 years the world as a whole has failed to “solve” climate change.
And yor opinion on all that was “Great”
And yor opinion on all that was “Great”
I told you that was sarcasm, and any independent reader will know you’re just being a fuckwit. But I repeat myself.
“……and any independent reader will know you’re just being a fuckwit. “”
Good to see nothing around here has changed LOL
🐤I hope and pray that this Victorian outbreak doesn’t spread to other states.🐤 Scotty from Mars

Yes, aren’t we all happy now (The Stoopid, it burns))
It would be lovely if Labor went to the next election on an anti-coal platform (because that wouldn’t be Stoopid at all)!
I take it that means you are happy the reef is in trouble tosy? (as opposed to be being glad that someone is highlighting that the reef is in trouble, which is my position)
So Victoria is going into lockdown, while other developed countries are opening.
That’s because the federal government absolutely F**KED the vaccination rollout.
F**king hopeless.
Thanks Scott
I take it that means you are happy the reef is in trouble tosy?
According to UNESCO, the main danger to the reef is from climate change, which they say Australia can’t solve. Anyone who implies Australia can save the reef by stopping coal mining is a bullshit artist. Mining of coal, Australia’s second largest export, will carry on. People like Joel Fitzgibbon know this. But I hope Labor goes to the electorate with anti-mining policies. It would be wonderful to watch,
Anyone who implies Australia can save the reef by stopping coal mining is a bullshit artist
Anyone who implies that stopping an Emission Reduction Scheme that saw our emissions fall, and pushing for MORE emissions from coal WON’T make it worst is making my head burn from THE STOOPID
And yet these numbnuts think that UNESCO should ignore all that.
And yet these numbnuts think that UNESCO should ignore all that.
Maybe Labor should introduce another carbon tax I mean price on carbon which can’t solve climate change therefore can’t save the reef. Please. Let’s see if the electorate is ready for that.
I mean price on carbon which can’t solve climate change
Is there a “cough/bullshit” smiley?
A price of carbon will do f**k all for the barrier reef. Cut the bullsh*t
Is there a “cough/bullshit” smiley?
No. Australia can’t solve climate change (according to your moral and intellectual superiors at UNESCO). Therefore, nothing Australia does can solve climate change.
By the way, “the world” has been “trying” for around 50 years, but has been unable to solve this climate change “problem”.
It like those moronic fire chiefs saying who they/we could go to the CCP and persuade them to do more.
What a pack of moronic useful idiots they’ve proved to be
” .. But thry’re our major trading partner ..(suggesting that we put profits before national security).. ” PSST .. hate to tell you teabag types that aint smart enough to realize .. but muppet island has been doing that for decades .. it’s called sovereign risk.
Therefore, nothing Australia does can solve climate change.
yea, whe’re just going to let the rest of the world try and solve it, while we remain the largest per capita producer. But, we have done much to hamper the process. We are now a pariah on hte world scene, with ecen America leaving us behind.

“ .. highlighting that the reef is in trouble ..” Trouble? .. Nah Doomed .. along with ningaloo too. Those 350 to 400 coal burners thePanda built around the globe will all be online and in use in 2022. Burning for 40, 50, 60 years, and knot a thing muppets on their island can do about it. Tho l suspect we will be enjoying more of those 45 to 50 degree days like canadia and california are enjoying this week.`
“ .. Maybe Labor should introduce another carbon tax ..” The blue gaggle won’t gain anything by that. All they have to do is wait and the red gaggle will dangle blib stooten in front of all those knifed kevin07 voters and its all over.`
yea, whe’re just going to let the rest of the world try and solve it
As I pointed out, #therestoftheworld has been trying for around 50 years, all to no avail. When I say no avail, there have been tens of thousands of people on the climate gravy train I mean being fairly compensated for their as-yet unsuccessful efforts. So there’s rhat.
#therestoftheworld has been trying for around 50 years,
I really need that “cough/bullshit” smiley

If only we had listened to those retired fire chiefs, the CCP would have seen sense! And we’d be happy and without bushfires.
That’s about the same value as an argument suggesting that Australia can save to barrier reef by taking action to reduce emissions.
It’s just infantile bulls*t
Fair enough.
Yes, we known about it for decades. We still aren’t doing enough. But other countries are taking up the mantle. We are just adding fuel to the fire.
Don’t trust China’s overseas useful idiots.
So. China has it’s own IPA. Those EVIL bastards!
Australia canhelp save the barrier reef by taking action to reduce emissions.
But instead, we do the exact opposite. And then cry when people notice.

800,000 doses of Pfizer landed at Sydney Airport. I guess they will then be distributed to where they are needed. Do you have any evidence that the 800,000 doses that landed in Sydney is only for NSW???

Oh I dunno, maybe you could try Google……. 🙄
It seems to me that people from “the left” side of politics are more keen on lockdowns and vaccinating 80% of people more than people from “the right” of politics. The reason of course is that “the left” think hard lock downs work. Who knows?? Another reason could be that “the left” does not care about freedom too much. Also lots of righties do not trust an experimental vaccine.

I’m completely over the crap from anti vaxers. And the limitations put in AZ are ridiculous.
Apparently it’s not safe for people in Australia, but it is fine for Europe and many other countries
It’s also safe enough for us to donate to other countries the stuff that isn’t safe enough for us.
It’s absolute crap.
Get people vaccinated and just lockdown those that aren’t
Bloody Lefties!
And the anti vaxers don’t seem to be right wing to me. Most appear to be left oriented hippy types, that are into alternative medicine and corporate conspiracy theories
They’re odd/loopy, they want everyone to accept the science regarding climate change, but reject the science about vaccination.
Weird
Weird
Yes, because I find most people who accept science accept science.
I reckon you’re making shit up 😉
I’m only acquainted with a couple of people who are anti vaxers. They’re aging hippies that believe meditation and herbs will cure everything.
And the vaccination is just a commercial ploy by the pharmaceutical industry.
They’re Greens, so weird is an appropriate description.
“””Or they just blindly keep voting the wrong government into power …”””
TB
I am anti-Labor because it misleads and deceives people.
Did you see TomRs Tweet which said NSW got 800,000 doses of the vaccine while Labor States only got 100,000. The implication was that the Feds are favoring Liberals States. That could be true. If true that is wrong.
But i searched and the article said 800,000 doses landed in Sydney. I guess Sydney airport could be the gateway to Australia. The article also said that 1 million doses are arriving each week until the end of August.
There was nothing in the article saying that NSW was being favored. That is why i never trust anything a ALP supporter says until i check it out.
I guess Sydney airport could be the gateway to Australia
I guess WA and Vic aren’t part of this straya you speak of
They’re aging hippies that believe meditation and herbs will cure everything.
yomm knows some hippies lol
I have to wait another MONTH!!!
Weird
You obviously don’t read Kneel’s comments … 😀
And ignore TR and me … anyway welcome to the jab clan … second AZ next week …
BTW the real problem isn’t science its right wing politics and federal government incompetence … but you already knew that.

I have to wait another MONTH!!! Yer as bad as my son, TR, and his fucking Screaming Jets!
ToM, knows two people????
“”””I guess WA and Vic aren’t part of this straya you speak of”””
TomR
Maybe the plane after landing in Sydney was not going to Perth or Melbourne because it did not have enough fuel or was not going there?? Maybe it was flying straight back to where it came from and then the 800,000 doses were placed on another plane??
Before you make an accusation do some research. All i saw was that the plane with the 800,000 doses landed in Sydney and that there was one million doses coming each week until the end of August.
You obviously don’t read Kneel’s comments
As little a possible 😉
TomR
That tweet saying NSW was getting 800,000 doses because it is a Liberal State and Vic and WA only getting 100,000 doses because they vote ALP is why i say Labor voters mislead and deceive people.
Beats me why you just cannot spend some time and tell the truth. All i could find was 800,000 doses were LANDING in Sydney, and 100,000 in Vic and WA. With one million arriving every week until the end of August
Kneel, once again you don’t do simple research before tapping your keys …
Labor voters mislead and deceive people.
A simple apology to TR, is in order or a poem …
And an apology to the ALP voters you continue to insult … its long overdue! 😶
😎
One million Pfizer doses arrived in Australia last night, with 800,000 of those earmarked for NSW.
Yep i saw that. But it may just mean they were landing in NSW. However it does imply they were for NSW residents. Fine. But this is what i saw.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-07-19/australia-receives-1-million-early-pfizer-doses/100303756
Close to 1 million doses landed in Australia overnight as part of the nation’s vaccine ramp-up, with more than 800,000 landing in Sydney and almost 100,000 in Melbourne….The federal government is expecting 1 million doses of Pfizer to arrive from overseas each week from now until at least the end of August.
Sydney is Australia’s largest airport and maybe closer to where the vaccine supplies are sourced from.
BTW the journalist may have just assumed since they were landing in Sydney they were for NSW. Maybe they were and maybe they were not. Maybe they were landing in Sydney and then distributed elsewhere. Sydney may be closer to the supplies than Melbourne
All i am saying is get your facts right before you make allegations.
or a poem
“And the poets down here don’t write nothing at all
They just stand back and let it all be”

What is this feeling…. am I sick… am I dying…?
I always thought when the Germans who did terrible things during WW2 said they were just following orders a poor excuse. I thought that a cop out. Well we are all following orders. Is there anyone brave enough to stand against this tyranny???
All i am saying is get your facts right before you make allegations.

And all the people who don’t lick the arses of the people sitting on the government benches are waiting for their apology …
A simple “Sorry I was wrong” will do …
What is this feeling…. am I sick… am I dying…?
You’ve obviously been infected by some sort of digital virus from someone in either NSW or Victoria … do you know anyone from either of those states?
Tassie and Queenslanders are OK – apparently … we all wear masks, use hand-cleaner, antiseptic spray on ebay parcels, social distance when talking to our neighbours … and generally have a good giggle* (that last one isn’t true)
Personally I like the discipline that lockdowns bring to the neighborhood* …
Yeah, I think the NSW CMO is giving good advice … it’ll be ignored anyway … why get yer knickers in a knot … I suppose it provides comic relief for some … 😎
Is there anyone brave enough to stand against this tyranny???
You protested Conscription in the 60’s/70’s I suppose?
What is this feeling…. am I sick… am I dying…?
I prefer to think that they are agreeing with me. 😉
I’m all for rules, but when they are extreme one way, and totally stupid the other (ie, don’t talk to friends, but we’re shipping private school kiddies off on their school camps) it just frustrates you.
The best over here was when they had crowds at the footy, but they weren’t allowed to touch the ball.
Yeah, I think the NSW CMO is giving good advice
Badly giving good advice. What she needed to say was have a friendly convo, from a distance, and keep it short. People need to talk.
The pertinent bit is about 1.5 minutes in 😉
Badly giving good advice. What she needed to say was have a friendly convo, from a distance, and keep it short. People need to talk.
Didn’t I say that too? 😉😎😉
“”we all wear masks, use hand-cleaner, antiseptic spray on ebay parcels, social distance when talking to our neighbours “”
All the CMO’s seem to occasionally go overboard – and public speaking is never as easy as (those who haven’t done it) seem to think … especially when being questioned by
circling sharksjournalists …Easier to write shit than to stand up and speak it … er 🙂
The pertinent bit is about 1.5 minutes in
Yep, and I just realised how fragile most human beings are … being lonely is quite different to being alone … from experience … personally I avoid crowds …
personally I avoid crowds
MeToo
But I also remember how it was when I was younger, when I loved being in a crowd. This would be very hard for some. I gotta keep reminding myself of that, because lockdowns don’t really affect me too much
Uh oh! The delegates might have been offered better bribes.
Now I want an apology …
What for?? ALP supporters have cried wolf so many times i no longer believe anything they say.
TomR posts a link implying that NSW is getting more vaccine doses because it is a Liberal state. So i did a search and first link i clicked on said 800,000 doses LANDED at Sydney airport. There was nothing in the article that they were for NSW… Sydney Airport is the gateway to Australia. I need more research to say the Federal govt is favoring a Liberal State
Second link i clicked on said the 800,000 doses were earmarked for NSW. Who knows?? Journalists are not that smart. Most probably assumed that since they were landing in Sydney they were earmarked nor NSW. Some States are locked down and may not be getting some plane flights. All mail and deliveries is being held up. Have you tried ordering anything from Victoria on Ebay?? Takes weeks.

Think of the children!
Here is something a little more accurate
https://www.health.gov.au/news/vaccine-operations-centre-weekly-operational-update-12-july-2021
“””In a big boost to our rollout program, Australia will be receiving one million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine per week from 19 July – tripling the current rate of supply…….To support the NSW Government’s response to the current outbreak in Sydney, we are bringing forward an additional 300,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines for NSW.””””””
Also from my latest link i bet some of those 800,000 LANDING at Sydney would end up here
Australia’s assistance to the Pacific.
This week another 120,000 doses were made available for distribution to the Pacific. In the coming week, another 120,000 doses will be made available, taking the total to more than 743,000 doses provided to DFAT. This will help our friends across the Pacific, including Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Samoa and Tuvalu.
I wonder what the word ‘additional ‘ could possibly mean?
(Fortunately, ‘[we are] bringing forward’, additionally, seems apolitical – in the Lasswellian sense of politics being defined as/by who gets what when; still, a rolling c.3 week turnaround for Pfizer, and c.4-12 week turnaround for AstraZeneca, does seem seem to support the NSW Government’s, erm, response to, ah, the current outbreak in Sydney.)

Hesitancy. What hesitancy?
Congratulations to Brisbane. I cannot think of a better place for thousands upon thousands of people from wide and varied ethinicities and backgrounds to be welcomed into this country than Queensland.
I just spent 4 days in hospital with a (thankfully mild) reaction to AZ.
So the deal for oldies is:
1. You are at higher risk of Covid;
2. You need to get vaccinated;
3. You can only get the one that is less effective;
4. And which has more side effects.
Can’t wait for the Brisbane opening ceremony. It will no doubt feature that most famous Queensland band Savage Garden.
I wonder what the additional sports will be? A traditional Queensland beer belly contest should be on the agenda:

I cannot think of a better place for thousands upon thousands of people

“I just spent 4 days in hospital with a (thankfully mild) reaction to AZ.”
Good to see you’re still in the land of the living rectum.
JBP even escaped a guilty verdict by loading the fkn jury!
How did Joh stack a jury???
It’s called google nil
Mr Shaw, 40, is credited with saving Joh from jail.
He was foreman of the jury that failed to reach a verdict in Joh’s 1991 perjury trial.
He and another juror held out to prevent a unanimous guilty verdict.
It was revealed later he was a member of the Young Nationals and a cousin of a secretary employed by Joh’s wife Flo, who as a senator made her household the original Flo-Joh team

Ta, TR … I just ran out of crayons and time … 😁
Shoulda been a mistrial … BTW
I just ran out of crayons and time
🙂
I know, I normally don’t bother, but I didn’t know about the trial, so … google it was
So what??
TB said Joh stacked the Jury. How did Joh get this guy on the jury????
“Good to see you’re still in the land of the living rectum.”
Why thank you reb. The most exciting part of the hospitalisation was the young nurse who offered to shower me. Just as I was visualising her soaping my balls I realised that there was a good prospect I could make a bit of a mess so I politely declined.
As an interesting sidelight, I asked my doctor should I have the AZ vaccine for the second jab given the adverse reaction to the first AZ shot. Apparently some countries, as a matter of course, recommend a different vaccine for those who have AZ as their first shot.
Not Australia though. The doctor said that as the protocol here does not include giving a different vaccine for the second shot he would lose his legal protection if he did not follow the protocol and something went wrong.
“How did Joh get this guy on the jury????”
The details are set out here: Report by the Honourable WJ Carter QC on his Inquiry into the Selection of the Jury for the Trial of Sir Johannes Bjelke-Petersen.
Given your limited intellectual ability you probably won’t understand much of it and will quickly lose interest. Therefore I suggest you start at page 477 and give it your best shot.
477! How much did you read? 😂🤣😪
Who else loves the buzz-phrase “lean in”? Yeah, me neither.
ToSY, had to look it up! Its even sillier than – “going forward” 😶
Given your limited intellectual ability you probably won’t understand much of it and will quickly lose interest. Therefore I suggest you start at page 477 and give it your best shot.
Correct, i am not very smart. But i will say my natural defense of Conservative pollies is because many of the allegations against them are wrong. Labor likes to mislead and deceive. I had a look and 2 points appear to have been made
1. the people on the various lists chosen for jury duty were chosen at random. So no problems there
2. The allegation is but never really stated (that i could see) was Johs lawyers found out that one of the persons on the various lists (Shaw) was a National Party member and potentially a favorable person to have on the jury. So during the jury selection process they knocked back people they did not want and then selected Shaw. So Jury vetting is the way Johs lawyers stacked the Jury
“my natural defense of Conservative pollies is because many of the allegations against them are wrong.”
Now Neil, I’m as conservative as the next chap. But I am not so deluded as to believe that conservatives are less likely to be corrupt than other politicians. I believe that there is ample evidence that the NSW Liberal Party’s primary purpose in life is enriching corrupt lobbyists, that Malcolm Turdball spent $50bn on useless submarines merely to save the mincing poodle’s arse and that John Howard is a crook in both the monetary and the moral sense.
Back to the present topic – Jo Bonkers-Bananas (an epithet coined by Mike Carlton back in the day when he was actually funny and his brain hadn’t been pickled) was as self-righteous and as corrupt as you would expect a bible-bashing LNP premier to be.
I think we can all agree that Bjelke-Pertereson was a corrupt buffoon and that the system was manipulated to ensure that a political ally of said corrupt buffoon foreman of the jury:
The report describes in detail the abuse of the system which occurred in the Bjelke-Peterson case and then the report summarised the matter:
Neil, history shows that there is a deep vein corruption running through Australian politics and the conservatives have made a strong contribution. In NSW it goes all the way back to the Rum Corps. Maybe you should spend some time boning up on “>Sir Robin Askin and his corrupt cronies.
Fine. But your link says that all the people selected for jury duty were selected at random. So no problems there. Shaw was randomly on the jury list
People say Johs lawyers during the Jury vetting process picked people who they thought would favor their cause. Sounds like that movie “Runaway Jury”” staring Gene Hackman.
BTW if it was known that Shaw was “”” favourably disposed to the accused and one who was not only a political affiliate but a person who bad voiced his avid support for the accused”” why didn’t the Crown vet this guy??
But I am not so deluded as to believe that conservatives are less likely to be corrupt than other politicians.
Neither am i. But i do believe that ALP/Greens supporters mislead and deceive people more than Coalition supporters. They cannot bothered to spend the time to get their facts right before they abuse a Coalition pollie.
“They cannot bothered to spend the time to get their facts right before they abuse …”
Just like you couldn’t be bothered getting your facts right in this case. You could have found out the details of this whole sordid affair before you opened your mouth. But you didn’t. You went off half-cocked (if your even have half a cock).
I asked TB a question “”How did Joh stack the jury””
Easier to get the answer from the person making the allegation rather than me spending hours on a fruitless search. In the end you gave me some information.
If i made a serious allegation i would spend some time making sure i had some facts. I doubt TB did.
But why didn’t the prosecution vet Shaw?? I did see the movie “”Runaway Jury”” staring Gene Hackman and saw the lawyers vetting the jurors on the selection list
Welcome to the team of ‘why do I bother’ splats 😉 ’twas a valiant effort none the less.
Neil, it matters not what movies you have seen. I guess you can’t help your own limitations.
The report I linked to sets out what happened in excruciating detail. Obviously you have not been able to comprehend it. Try doing that before bleating out more questions. Or maybe you have tried and are just too fucking dumb to understand.
Essentially what happened is that members of the defence team (O’Brien and Butler) were able to deceptively manipulate the system:
(at 474)
There is much more detail in the report. If you want to know more do a bit of reading before you start bleating questions.
The bottom line here was that a corrupt conservative Premier was acquitted because members of his defence team corruptly abused a bad system.
“””Welcome to the team of ‘why do I bother’ splats 😉 ’twas a valiant effort none the less””””
I have found allegations by ALP supporters not to be trusted
Like when you said Labor created the Marine Park network and the Coalition is destroying it.
Actually Howard created the Marine Park network and there has not been a Marine Park legislated into law since 2007.
The report I linked to sets out what happened in excruciating detail. Obviously you have not been able to comprehend it.
Get stuffed. The document is 500 pages long. AS you note i am not very smart. It would take me months to go through that document.
What i can say is that when i have had the time to investigate allegations made against John Howard by Labor supporters they are usually wrong.
BTW i have lost interest in the current Coalition govt. They are outspending Whitlam. But i would never vote Labor/Greens
“Get stuffed. The document is 500 pages long.”
Don’t give up, old son. I bet you always wanted to be a reader. There may be hope for you yet.
What an arrogant c**t Dan is.
He demands a ring of steel around Sydney, how about he just look after the NSW/Vic border.
Dan’s still the record holder! 700+ cases a day! NSW bumps along at less than 20% of that!
Like when you said Labor created the Marine Park network and the Coalition is destroying it.
I call bullshit. LINK!
What an arrogant c**t Dan is.
To be fair, he had every right to be. He keeps getting proved to be correct all the time. His one flaw was to listen to morriscum in the second wave and locked down too slowly.
gladbag has no excuse, the template has been made for her, and she still ignores it
Don’t give up, old son. I bet you always wanted to be a reader. There may be hope for you yet.
Defense and prosecution lawyers vetting jurors on a list is normal. Any lawyer either defense or prosecution worth his salt would try and get jury members hostile to their cause off the list.
Now if this National Party guy- Shaw was added to a list it would be a obvious stacking. But your link does say one list was removed and the list Shaw was on added.
But how come we know the name and political slant of this Shaw guy but nothing about the other 11 members?? BTW one other person also sided with Shaw so it was 10-2. Even 11-1 would have saved Joh.
Dan hasn’t been proved to be correct. Just close the border , that’s what he can control, he’s just point scoring.
How do you think he would react to Gladys telling him what to do.
Being glib isn’t the same as being intelligent.
What a lot of crap. The ADF were checking names l, addresses, reasons for travel on Melbourne’s”ring of steel
The conducted some checks on people that were required to self isolate. They supplemented the police, when Andrews finally accepted that he needed help
Its even sillier than – “going forward” 😶
You can drop ‘going forward’ from most sentences without changing their meaning at all.
Well waddya know?

The annual data on coral cover for the Great Barrier Reef, produced by the Australian Institute of Marine Science, was released on Monday showing the amount of coral on the reef is at record high levels. Record high, despite all the doom stories by our reef science and management institutions.

“amount of coral on the reef is at record high levels”
But, but …… the science says that nations were wiped off the face of the earth in 2000 due to global warming, the world also froze in that year, and in the 1970s a hundred million people died of starvation.
“Now if this National Party guy- Shaw was added to a list it would be a obvious stacking. But your link does say one list was removed and the list Shaw was on added.”
Once again Neil, you are providing proof positive that you are a stupid autistic cunt. Reading the report is obviously beyond your capabilities so try to focus on the next sentence if you can:
The reason original panel of jurors was dismissed and the panel with the LNP stooge on it was chosen was by virtue of deliberate deception by members of the defence team employed by Bjelke Peterson.
Now that wasn’t hard was it?
I take it even you can see something wrong with deliberately deceiving a judge so that a jury panel is dismissed and replaced by a panel containing a stooge for the defendant, can’t you?
If i made a serious allegation i would spend some time making sure i had some facts. I doubt TB did.
Oh, but I did (I was at the trial!) Another false (serious) accusation, Kneel … apology please!
Recall I mentioned walking past JBP? And he remembered me (having met me) … I’m afraid I simply ignored him.
BREAKING: MORRISON ADMITS THAT THE ADF CAN’T DO ENFORCEMENT!
Nope … civil enforcement is a police task … troops are not allowed to enforce laws in Australia …
However, they can offer logistic, medical and administration services.
The reason original panel of jurors was dismissed and the panel with the LNP stooge on it was chosen was by virtue of deliberate deception by members of the defence team employed by Bjelke Peterson.
OK but my experience over the years is that a lot of allegations made against Conservative politicians in general and John Howard in particular are wrong. So i just don’t trust allegations made by lefties.
But what happened sounds like the movie “”Runaway Jury””
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runaway_Jury
An adaptation of John Grisham’s 1996 novel The Runaway Jury,[2] the film pits lawyer Wendell Rohr (Hoffman) against shady jury consultant Rankin Fitch (Hackman), who uses illegal means to stack the jury with people sympathetic to the defense
Well waddya know?
Politicians overrride scientists, yay
showing the amount of coral on the reef is at record high levels
Good to see cherry picking is still on the agenda
Dr Emslie said the majority of the coral cover growth was driven by common, fast-growing table and branching corals.
However, he said these corals were the most vulnerable.
“Their fast growth comes at a bit of a cost, their skeletons aren’t as dense as other corals,” Dr Emslie said.
AIMS has warned that the recovery the Great Barrier Reef is currently experiencing is likely to be short-lived with the “increasing prominence” of climate-related disturbances.

But i am not going to apologise saying you come from the side of politics that misleads and deceives people. You should be able to trust what people say.
eg My usual example. In 2007 on Tim Dunlops blog i was told the “”lying rodent”” introduced a new rule. Work only one hour and you are employed. And that is why unemployment went from 8% to 4% under Howard when PM. He changed the method of determining employment.
In January 2020, about 13 years after i was told that Howard introduced the “”one hour rule”” when PM i found it has been in use since the Labor Force Survey started in the early 1960’s
Apology accepted …

It it a compulsion Tom R, that you think ALP governments do no wrong?
I’ve previously established that the virus leaked from Victorian hotel quarantine with 3 times the frequency of NSW.
But you just refuse to acknowledge inconvenient facts.
But you just refuse to acknowledge inconvenient facts.
Well, depends on how cherry picked those ‘facts’ are. Yes, Melbournes numbers are worst, but that is due several factors. If you added in ‘leaks’ from boats, limousines and people just being let back in without Quarantining, as with the xmas Sydney leak, the numbers would be a lot different.
And never forget that this was lumped on them by a Federal government who not only came to them with an empty plan, even though pandemic plans had been provided for Governments, but then lied about it to the people, eg the ADF being offered for security purposes, or the famous rooting security guards
It isn’t simply that Victoria has 700+ cases a day, while NSW hasn’t reached even a quarter of that.
It’s that the program in Victoria was ABOUT THREE (3!!) TIMES as likely to allow the virus to leak into the community.
You are unable to accept that fact
And by the way I have started my anti Facebook campaign. All welcome
ABOUT THREE (3!!) TIMES
sigh. We need to start an anti-yomm cherry picking campaign 😉
And now it says I’ve deleted the site!
You’ll recall that during his ABC program and in a press conference, Raf Epstein put figures to acting Premier James Merlino as well as public health officials.
The figures demonstrated that Victoria was experiencing leaks from hotel quarantine at almost 3 times the rate of NSW.
That fact is not in dispute, except by you.
And now it says I’ve deleted the site!
Are you sure facebook didn’t?
That fact is not in dispute, except by you.
I’m not disagreeing that .. within a certain date range, that was correct. as the tweet shows, it changes depending on the date range. It would also change depending on the type of measurement.
I mean, if I selected the number of cases in the wild right now, NSW wouldn’t look too good, would it?
And that is with all the hard lessons Victoria learnt for all of us. Recall, they were the first state to squash and outbreak like that, showing it can be done. Let’s hope Sydney learns.
And even on the table you provide, Victoria has leaks at about twice the rate of NSW
sigh yomm
“Yes, Melbournes numbers are worst”
So much here. First, “fuck yeah” is the perfect reaction after just winning an olympic gold medal! Good for her!
But then, the “reporter” goes fishing for a newsworthy grab: “tell us what you’d like to say to him” (her father, who died from cancer last year). What a fucking moronic and completely inappropriate thing to say. It would be one thing if she wanted to mention her deceased dad of her own accord, but for a channel 7 hack to pretend she can speak to the dead and corner her into saying something is a completely different matter.
What a fuckwit!

NDIS, NBN, Gonski, Marine Parks, Medicare
I have seen Abbott being abused because he destroyed the Marine Parks created by Labor
Wrong. Howard created the Marine Park Network and there has not been a Marine Park legislated since 2007.
I have seen Abbott being abused because he destroyed the Marine Parks <strike created in which “everything good” in it was done by Labor
Fixed it fer ya dopey
Making a framework and doing nothing with it isn’t really achieving much, is it?
Of course, if you can link to where I stated they created it, be my guest. 😉
You said these were some of Labors achievements
NDIS, NBN, Gonski, Marine Parks, Medicare
What Marine Parks did Labor create?? The Marine Park network was created by Howard and there has not been a Marine Park legislated since 2007.
Over at the Guardian they say Abbott destroyed the marine parks created by the Rudd/Gillard govt. That is misleading and deceitful. Labor proposed to extend Howards marine parks but did not legislate their proposal
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/jun/14/australia-largest-marine-reserve
TomR
That link is the perfect example of why i say LABOR misleads and deceives. As well as lefties newspapers like the Guardian. This from your link
The numbers of marine reserves off the Australian coast will be increased from 27 to 60.
Labor proposed to triple the size of the Marine Park network created by Howard. But Tony Burke never legislated it but he acts like he did. Did you look at the Youtube clip in your link. It is titled
Australia’s proposed networks of marine reserves
At around the 2.37 minute mark on the Youtube clip Tony Burke asks do we go ahead with the marine park proposal?????
It was just a proposal which Labor/Burke never legislated.
Labors Marine Parks do not exist
Labors Marine Parks do not exist
No, of course not. That happens when lib governments get in. So stop lying nil. And yes, it’s not too late to apologize to me for your hurtful accusations. 🙂
Labor has today committed to reverse the largest removal of area from conservation in history.
A process which commenced under the Abbott Government in 2013 concluded last week with the Senate refusing to disallow marine park management plans put in place by Josh Frydenberg.
This process has effectively cut the highly protected areas of Commonwealth Marine Parks in half.
The largest area in the world limited to recreational fishing is now being re-accessed by commercial operators, and perhaps most disturbing of all, the Government has now established a massive trawling area immediately adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef. Longlining will now also be permitted north to south through the Coral Sea.
https://www.tonyburke.com.au/media-releases/2018/8/21/media-release-labor-will-bring-back-the-commonwealth-marine-parks
No, of course not. That happens when lib governments get in.
TomR
Tony Burke/Labor never legislated their 2012 proposal to triple Howards legislated Marine Parks. Our last Marine Park was legislated in 2007.
Do you know what a PROPOSAL is??
Why did the the libs need to remove something that didn’t exist then nil?
And why did it take them so long to remove something that didn’t exist?
Spent most of it in the National Museum
We spent two days at the British Museum before we left for Egypt … the Bodlian Museum in Oxford is interesting too.
As for The Corner we spent about four hours wandering – most are religious (or anti) nutters … my guess – about one in four might be interesting … hecklers are good …
We spent two days at the British Museum before we left for Egypt
What’s the point of going to Egypt once you’ve been to the British Museum of (other peoples) antiquity?
TomR
It was just a proposal. So it does not exist. That is why the Coalition can fiddle with it. They would not have the numbers in the Senate to remove something from a legislated marine park. Our last marine Park was legislated in 2007.
This youtube clip is from your Guardian link
Former Environment Minister Tony Burke – Australia’s proposed networks of marine reserves
Burke at approx 16 seconds says “”and if we go ahead with it””
At 2.30 Burke says “” the govts proposal is now out””
At 2.38 Burke says “” do we go ahead with it””
At 2.53 Burke says “” i am hoping the consultation comes in heavily behind this proposal””
Burkes marine parks do not exist because they were never legislated. Our last marine Park was legislated in 2007. Did you know that Howard created the Marine Park network?? I did not nor do most Howard supporters.
I fucking give up nil, you’re too stupid for words
TomR
I believe Burke executed his proposal. That is he got it through Cabinet. But it was never sent to Parliament to be legislated. So it does not exist.
Apparently Cabinet can execute laws without sending them to Parliament to be legislated.. But when the next govt gets in they can unexecute it.
There has not been a Marine Park legislated since 2007
BTW did you know Howard created a Marine Park network?? I didn’t
What’s the point of going to Egypt once you’ve been to the British Museum of (other peoples) antiquity?
Good question … because I wanted to show The Minister and told her that the British Museum had more Egyptian artifacts than Egypt!
However, the BM didn’t have the Tutankhamen artifacts or the Cairo Museum, the pyramids (I have a photo of me in the sarcophagus chamber in The Great Pyramid – not allowed -amazing what a couple of quid can buy), the Sphinx, camels, The Valey of the Kings etc. Cairo, the Nile Cruise (where I had a birthday) or, the Mena House, where we stayed.

The Great Pyramid , the Sphinx, The Valley of the Kings etc. Cairo, the Nile Cruise or, the Mena House
“Yea, but what have the Egyptians ever done for us” 😉
I stand corrected.
TomR
http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/burke-threatens-government-s-marine-park-plans
THE Turnbull Government’s plans for Australia’s 44 Federal Marine Parks are in jeopardy with Shadow Environment Minister Tony Bourke promising to derail the move in the Senate.
According to the Minister for the Environment and Energy, The Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, the new regime improves on plans introduced but never implemented by Labor in 2012.
Get it?? Burke never legislated them so THEY DO NOT EXIST.
Trouble is you believe anything a labor MP says. Burke is a misleader and deceiver of people like most ALP MPs
Burke passed his plan through Cabinet but NEVER sent it to Parliament to get it through the Reps and Senate.
SO LABORS MARINE PARKS HAVE NEVER BEEN LEGISLATED
Yes, the things that the libs are so busy removing never existed nil
Just like your brain.
Yes, the things that the libs are so busy removing never existed nil
Congratulations you made a correct comment for once.
the new regime improves on plans introduced but never implemented by Labor in 2012.
In our country you need to legislate something for it to exist. Labor never legislated their plans drafted in 2012
TomR
Nobody knows why Burke never put his Marine Park proposal to Parliament for a vote in 2012. The Greens would have gone for it. But many people did not like that so much area was excluded for recreational fishing.
http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/burke-threatens-government-s-marine-park-plans
Key elements of the Turnbull Government’s plan compared to Labor’s proposed plans include:
* An increase of 200,000 square kilometres in the area with sea floor protection.
* 16 per cent more of the total area of parks will be open to recreational fishing which includes access to 97 per cent of Commonwealth waters within 100 kilometres of the coast. This reduces by 400,000 square kilometres the area from which Labor would have locked out Australia’s five million recreational fishers.
* 17 per cent more of the total area of marine parks open to commercial fishing.
* A four per cent decrease in the total area of marine parks open to mining.
* The protection of 509 conservation features (reefs and canyons), 344 in the highest levels of protection, compared to 331 in Labor’s plans.
Nobody knows why the libs have spent most of the last decade removing something you don’t seem to think exists.
the new regime improves on plans introduced but never implemented by Labor in 2012.
Plans are plans. They only exist when they are legislated through Parliament.
Our last Marine Park was legislated in 2007
Yes nil, which is precisely why the libs spent a large park of the last decade removing ….. what?
Its like watching – Home and Away 😃
Well the ads at least … zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
TomR
I guess removing the bits that recreational and commercial fisherman did not like.
But why didn’t Burke legislate his proposal in 2012?? The Greens would have backed it.
Once a National Park is legislated after years of planning it is much harder to take things out.
But you can take things out of a proposal.
Proposals are modified all the time.
But why didn’t Burke legislate his proposal in 2012
Because legislation takes time, especially when the opposition were doing everything to stop them. Then, the libs got in. And, Labor fought for years to try to save them, but, well, the Greens are never any help when the rubber hits the road.
It was still a great thing that Labor did, and the libs tore down.
Just like the NBN and NDIS, both great projects, both trashed by the libs
