Election Night Bingo!
May 6, 2022

IT’S BACK…!!!
Just when you thought it was safe to return to the Bingo halls of Brighton or the Rooty Hill RSL, The Gutter Trash presents our infamous Election Night Bingo Drinking Game.
Here’s how it works…
Simply print out the Election Night bingo card above and then mark off the catch phrases as they are uttered by the irrepressible Antony Green at the ABC tally room, or one of suckhole guests on the panel.
A “responsible drinking guide” is suggested at the top of the table for those who want to make an occasion out of it.
Enjoy!

Let’s have no more ‘gotchas’ and instead focus on some serious policy issues.
So says Keating M.

Suspect it doesn’t sell papers or win elections. No wonder ‘democracy’ is in decline. (And across the world.)

Troubling observation.
My daughter is 3rd year medical school and recognises half of y’all, from reading over my shoulder in ‘impressionable’ years.
I love that she’s been exposed to diverse points of view.
I like to think that my attempts at teaching critical thinking were formative, but I think she’s learnt some nuance from the vaguely substantiated (as opposed to completely emotive and unsubstatiated, internet tripe) and generally well articulated musings of those here.
Her favourite gravatar has always been the magnified sphincter…probably because the only pictures I’ve ever had as profile pictures on various social media, belong to pet digestive exits.
Not to jump the gun…but I think honest Scott may be about fucked, this time?

Say hi to your daughter, T-Boss. And if I may say one thing: you have one life – make sure you live your own, not someone else’s version:
Canada has a new approach to dealing with poverty – euthanise the poor!
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine seems to be going well!
* Finland and Sweden to join NATO
* NATO more untied than ever
* Proof that Russia is a struggling middle power
* Tens of thousands of Russian military dead
Thanks Vlad

Darwin Port Fiasco
Darwin Port was bombed 80 years ago …
And now we just have open house.
Yes NATO is more untied than ever. And the US arms dealers are higher than ever. But all is not well. Not that will stop the celebratory nonsense.
Some speak (approvingly) of Russian deaths but the lives destroyed in Ukraine are not mentioned. Why would that be? Or are there none? Perhaps a sub-conscious bias?
Here’s a perspective (and not from Australia).
Ukraine will never be the same – and
https://johnmenadue.com/a-fractured-and-unravelling-global-order-will-confront-the-next-australian-government/
Our pm, the Killdozer, has just done a yomm. Apparently, even though we are now leading the world in Covid cases, the number of people dying (5,000 so far this year) isn’t necessarily ‘because’ of Covid, they just happened to have it when they passed away
What a prick
Who can blame him
How many more?
So Ukraine had a right wing party. I suppose Russia should have bombed Paris when they elected a neo Nazi mayor
Associated Press provides further evidence that leftist journalists are really, really dumb:
“Elon Musk boasts that he’s acquiring Twitter to defend freedom of speech. But he has long used the platform to attack those who disagree with him.”
So Ukraine had a right wing party.
Shh … don’t tell Vladimir Putrid but … what should Russia do?
Australia does have a right wing party … and they are the government …
So Labor – “is potentially going into government with no capacity to raise taxes — even on corporations — without some very shifty manoeuvres, limited capacity for decarbonisation, and no position from which to launch a more joined-up “green new deal” and substantial social-democratic renewal” (Rundle in Crikey.)
Ain’t that the truth!
Albo’s obvious election strategy was to stand back and allow Morrison to overreach (as is his wont) and thereby lose. And that seems to be the result.
So how does Labor actually achieve anything in the next few years? First, it’s likely to ‘look at the books’ and declare an unmitigated disaster. An unprecedented ‘crisis’. Heard it all before? That “the cupboard is bare”. But this time it just might be believed. Just cite the Morrison government.
This will provide an opportunity to commission a number of Reports/Audits/Inquiries or whatever. Importantly, there will be a need to include any number of Liberals (ex or current), particularly those who have ‘hate in their hearts’ (and they will be in plague proportions after the loss). Have an Inquiry to AATs appointments as an opener.
Have them ‘over-recommend’ so Albo can pick and choose what is politically possible. And importantly can claim he didn’t have much of an agenda going in but it was forced upon him by the circumstances and the arguments generated by these expert (non-political) groups.
Otherwise it will be a vanilla administration. A lost opportunity.
“” Australia does have a right wing party … and they are the government …””
What do you mean by right wing??
Nothing to be proud of, but I got to, face to face, deliver some contempt to my local MP today, when I went to vote early.
He came waving a pamphlet at me, with a fake smile, as I entered the polling area.
I recognised him instantly, coz he’s a right-wing Liberal (previously Abbotteer) freedom wanker, in one of the safest seats in Australia.
I said, calmly, “Piss off, idiot”…his smile turned into a sneer, and he griped at me as I showed him my back as I entered the building.
Intensely satisying, if ultimately futile.
“What do you mean by right wing??”
You’re still interactive, after all these years, so I take it you have your faculties.
Therefore, I cannot accept that you don’t know what people mean when they say ‘right-wing’.
It’s not a fucking secret.
” you have one life – make sure you live your own, not someone else’s version”
Thus has it always been…and I’m not unhappy with it.
“””” Therefore, I cannot accept that you don’t know what people mean when they say ‘right-wing’.””
Right wing is anybody who has a different opinion to TB of Queensland
Right wing is anybody who has a different opinion to TB of Queensland
And still deliberately narrow minded …
With just six days left in a six-week election campaign, Mr Morrison will use the launch to outline a plan that would lower the age at which Australians are able to downsize their property and invest up to $300,000 per person from the proceeds into superannuation.
How innovative … duh!
Our home is NOT a property! It’s a place we have spent years improving and making comfortable to live in … and sell our home and we sell decades of family memories for three generations …
Then what?
Snotty’s stuffed it again!
Economic managers? These turkeys have no idea of how long term compound interest even works!
$50,000 … jesus wept … they don’t want people to retire with enough super to live comfortably BUT they hate welfare … live on hope and prayers? Oh, and charity …
I’m still trying to find out why they force people to draw down a certain percentage from their super … and as they get older they have to draw more and more … what’s it got to do with the government how much people draw down? Apart from power and control …
Rundle in Crikey.
I think I see where you went wrong 😉
they don’t want people to retire with enough super to live comfortably BUT they hate welfare
They are longing for the bygone era of the Grand Victorian era, where the dregs (ie, the worker bees) can be disappeared away, only to be used as a cheap source of Labour as required. They are of no consequence.
How many properties would these two numpties own between them, mostly paid for through taxpayer dollars

Message from our new overlord:
Re:
Perhaps they do or maybe they don’t BUT such considerations are somewhat irrelevant. A sideshow. An unnecessary luxury. Surplus to requirements. Missing the point.
The first (and only) task of any aspiring politician is to get elected. If successful, the next task is to be re-elected. That’s their KPIs. (And so it goes.)
So while the end(s) is/are unarguably clear, the means are always flexible. Never forget, in the political world the end justifies the means. .
Withdrawing ‘super’ might be ‘stupid’, such irrationality can be easily justified by its contribution (real or potential) to the re-election of a particular Member and/or government. Remember that’s the Number One (and only) consideration.
Currently, politics is about the metaphorical here and now . The future is for the next political class to worry about. As for the citizens – who cares?
As for the citizens – who cares?

ToSY, have you noticed how much leftists fear that their monopoly on social media might be broken by someone who favours free speech. They are melting down at the prospect of people being able to drop truth-bombs into their insane echo chamber.
Imagine having people pointing out that the Russia collusion dossier was a pack of lies concocted by the Clinton campaign, that the Hunter Biden laptop was not Russian disinformation, that Trump did not call neo-Nazis and white nationalists “very fine people”, that Joe Biden did participate in his crackhead son’s business dealings, that the FBI did spy on Trump and did lie to the FISA court 17 times to obtain a warrant to do so etc etc.

I don’t think it is a good idea to have billionaires paying $400m to election officials for targeted election infrastructure.
Mark Zuckerberg spent $419M on nonprofits ahead of 2020 election — and got out the Dem vote

$4.00 Coalition. Very juicy in a two horse race. The electorate is usually around 50/50. Back the underdogs at those prices.
A question for SloMo – what happens if you separate and your super is in a house with your ex ?
What a shame: sanctimonious entitled white mongrel, the Queen of Scotland Island, has been rejected by her multicultural subjects:
Labor’s Fowler parachute for Kristina Keneally leaves a succession plan in tatters and a diversity problem
I wonder why a Teal wasn’t running in Fowler? Oh wait! No need. Simon’s minions are all also sanctimonious entitled white mongrels.
Not that there is anything wrong with that. Probably making it healthier.

O yes, now I remember. NYT was banned for lying about Hunter’s laptop being Russian disinformation. Or was it the NY Post for telling the truth about it? Help me out here.
Help me out here.
I think you are fine digging your own hole. Banned?
Meanwhile, the abc are basically asking if Labor are Chinese sleeper agents. Penny Wong looks like she wants to hit her, and, she should have
Maybe elon stepped in?
Banned?
NY Post was banned from publishing on Twitter for 16 days before the 2020 election to stop the (factually correct) Hunter Biden laptop story being promulgated. It’s account was eventually reinstated.
Is there life on Mars?
Blocked, splats, not banned. They are different terminologies in the twitterverse for different levels of restriction

However you parse it, Tom R, Twitter prevented NY Post from tweeting a true story about Crackhead and Dementia Joe which was relevant to the election. Instead they allowed publication of the “Russian disinformation” lie.

Back to the AUSTRALIAN election
the LNP posing as The Dodgy Brothers
The US political system is always for sale (if it hasn’t already been sold) and, even then, there’s the possibility of a better offer. Highest bidder and all that.
Also happens in Australia.
Here, we stress the economic aspects of political life almost to the exclusion of all else. The dollars matter. Why it even permeates our language.
Next Australia Day, we might keep up with the misunderstandings and swear in new ‘taxpayers’. Rupert will qualify as an Australian once again. As will every backpacker and foreign diplomat who buys … anything.
And they say, 16 Years is too young to vote.
So there’s change in the wind including:
So with that ‘efficiency dividend’ be applied to the parliament itself (and all whose salaries reside within)? Will it be applied to the enormous amounts paid to non-government schools? Will it apply to the Army, Navy, Airforce? Or are they not part of the ‘public sector’?
If not, are they part of the ‘private sector?
While the political (sideshow) debate focuses on Albo versus Morrison, the significant development is the ideological shift of dollars from the public sector to the private.
Here’s an example:
https://johnmenadue.com/no-education-minister-opposition-without-school-funding-policy/
are they part of the ‘private sector?
Of course they aren’t the public sector. We have spent more on the public sector under the libs, but most of it goes to the ‘private’ sector doing the public services job … badly.
The libs love moving taxpayer dollars to their preferred ‘clients’
eg
“… if only the religious right could see that …”
Our priest is Nigerian and the majority of the congregation is not white.
Spiteful clueless bigotry is your stock-in-trade.
I was just re-reading Manufacturing Consent. The mechanisms it describes continue to operate today in the MSM:
The “elite” are now the tech billionaires, the leftists controlling the MSM, social media and infesting educational institutions. Times have changed and “anticommunism” as a natural religion has bee replaced by wokeism as an all-pervasive cult.
the leftists controlling the MSM,
Oh, how we all laughed
BTW, I see resolve have the libs ready to pounce. What a joke our msm is
Oh, how we all laughed
… eyes closed … mind closed … observation Kneel …
Now this is white privilege in action:
Here’s a hint: any organisation killing a disproportionate number of your babies is not your friend.
Any government constantly lying, cheating and thieving ain’t your friend either …
any organisation abusing a disproportionate number of your babies is not your friend.
I just got a letter (yep snail mail) from John Howard OM AC …
Priority paid.
John Howard OM AC Former Prime Minister Of Australia printed on the envelope top left.
How much did we pay for that shredding paper?
Pity its too rough/thick for shit paper, splats … and I’ve used many thicknesses and “sources” in my time …
In the matter of those particular ablutions, TB, there is a prescribed method (which I think might include the holy writings of Little Johnny Howard):
“Muhammad instructed his followers to clean their private parts with an odd number of stones, numbering no less than three. If you have no stones handy there is no need to worry. According to Islamic law, pages from the Torah or New Testament will do the job just fine.”
No doubt you are curious as to the correct technique for using the stones:
6. The impurity should not go beyond the inner buttock^^ and the
head of the penis.
7. Water should not splash onto the stone.^^
8. The stones to be used should be pure.
Note: The Sunnah Way for Using a Stone:
1. Begin to wipe from front to back on the right side with the
first stone, similarly wipe the left with the second, and wipe
both sides and the anus with the third. Each wiping must
begin at a point on the skin that is free of impurity.
2. It is sunnah (recommended) to add an odd number of stones
e.g. five, seven and so on.
3. It is makruh (offensive) to use the right hand to clean the
impurity.
Inner buttock refers to that which is enfolded when standing.
It will not be valid to use a wet stone. “
I’ll check that up in my copy of the Quran … so you have a Nigerian priest and are interested in muslim religion … I’m suspecting you lean towards the calathumpian method …
Sounds like Bullshitology to me …

Stupid and stupider …
Corruption, rorting, sinecures or whatever pejorative you like. It just get worse – positions at the AAT being a classic example:
“Under John Howard political appointments were 6 in 100, under the current Government that has soared to 2 in every 5.”
From 6% to 40% and this on top of a rather generous superannuation scheme.

“Here’s a hint: any organisation killing a disproportionate number of your babies is not your friend.”
Oh, dear.
You’re too smart to not consider the potential demographic and sociopolitical factors influencing such skewed statistics?
Which ‘organisation’…? Do you actually mean, a health service, conducting the consent of its patients?
Who’s being forced to terminate unwanted pregnancies? …and, specifically, what proportion of those are undertaken in later periods of gestation?
This is the epitome of anti-libertarianism.
“Is there life on Mars?”
Would it undermine theist doctrine, and indeed texts, if there were?
I think it would.
I think you’d need to zoom that picture out for context, fwiw.
I think it would.

Brother Stuie (Robert) on Radio National (RN) this morning hiding behind the Fair Work Commission re ‘wage’ decisions and the Reserve Bank re ‘interest rate’ rises. Keen to remind the listener that such decisions are out of (his) government’s hands.
No mention that such entities are staffed by Public Servants. You know those who are there NOT to make (government) policy – just to implement same.
Worse, the RN broadcaster didn’t remind him. A missed opportunity. Again
Re:
Not really because we are told that the Lord moves in strange ways .
It’s a universal (and generalised) back door . The first thing any smart (and not so smart) politician builds before anything else.

Certainly the skewed statistics reflect the founder’s intentions.

Agree, ToSY … (it is election night, gotta happen sometimes) 😀
Tim Wilson having a major sook is some next level victimhood.
He might have to get a real job. Contestant on Big Brother, maybe.
It’s hilarious to me that the number one issue in the so-called “teal” seats is climate change, when these are the electorates least likely to be affected by a degree or two of climate change. More likely it’s a totem, a name for something which will prove to your friends and neighbours you are a good person.
*a degree or two of global warming*
Tim Wilson having a major sook is some next level victimhood.
Awwwwwwww … fuck him!
*a degree or two of global warming*
There are, other aspects, to climate change … global warming is but one … that triggers some of the others …
There are, other aspects, to climate change
Of course, but we’re talking about people who will be least affected, claiming it’s their biggest worry. People with money who can easily adapt to any climate. ‘Ooh, we might have to upgrade the air conditioner at the beach house.’
It’s bullshit. Virtue signalling, in the right-wing vernacular.
Anyone watch Josshy? Fkn hilarious! Bullshit! LOL!

Heh. Let’s just say it’s not life changing. Hopefully the election won’t be either. Fingers crossed Labor don’t fuck things up too much before the clean up mob comes back three years from now- and Albo doesn’t become our version of Joe Biden.

Fingers crossed Labor don’t fuck things up too much before the clean up mob comes back three years from now
Oddly enough, historically, ’tis ‘tother way round … just check out WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam … as examples …
Albo ain’t in the chair yet … let’s see what happens next … and I’m sure I’ll be quick to criticise then … not before …
Re:
When? Must have missed that bit.
Seems to me that Morrison lost this election just as Shorten lost the last.
Albo’s first (macro) priority will be to win (or not lose) the next election so there won’t be any imaginative agenda. But there will be pressure from The Tealers and The Greens to ‘govern’; to ‘lead’; to ‘intervene’ in the market – in contrast to the previous administration which didn’t believe in ‘governing’ except when it came to ‘pork distribution’ and the allocation of ‘sinecures’.
Nevertheless, such a future will be enough for Barnaby to drink even more but this time the ‘shout’ won’t be on the public purse. Should help with both the deficit and the debt in the medium and longer term. And one suspects that while the government will be out of his life , he will have many, many regrets.
Suspect that Rudd will make a reappearance in some form or other – despite protestations to the contrary. Perhaps he could head an Inquiry into the Murdoch Empire in Australia? 0r at least write the Terms of Reference. Probably do that for free.
Don’t know how many properties those Coalition guys you mentioned owned
.,.Of course you don’t …
I have no idea how many investment properties Hockey owns. Do you?
But apparently there is not much difference between the major parties in investment property ownership.
But i did not know that our new PM owns $5M worth of investment properties. Surely that is a conflict of interest?
