The Man Who Would be Prime Minister

*****A STUNNING GUTTER TRASH EXCLUSIVE REPORT PROBE INVESTIGATION SURVEY FINDING RESEARCH PAPER PUBLICATION!!****

  • Talcum would whip Rudd’s ass as Opposition Leader says shock poll!
  • Abbott’s Leadership under Threat!
  • Joe Hockey ramps up support for Abbott to Eleventy!

Shadow treasurer Joe Hockey is backing Tony Abbott to take the coalition to the election despite polling showing the party would do better with Malcolm Turnbull as leader.

Apparently, the coalition would convincingly beat Labor at the upcoming federal election with Mr Turnbull at the helm according to a poll by Channel Seven.  Yes Channel Seven!  Oh how we laughed..!

The so-called “survey” also suggests that Talcum would be more popular than Kevin Rudd as preferred prime minister.

The “survey” indicates the Coalition leading Labor 58 to 42 per cent on a two-party preferred basis if  Talcum was Opposition Leader.

With Mr Abbott in charge, the Coalition lead collapses to just 51 to 49 per cent.

The poll also shows Mr Turnbull leading Kevin Rudd as preferred prime minister 65 to 35 per cent against the Labor leader’s 52 to 48 per cent advantage over Mr Abbott.

Conducted on Thursday night, the poll of 2922 residents nation-wide had a margin of error of 1.8 per cent.

A BROAD CHURCH.  A BIG TENT.

Mr Abbott dismissed the polling, saying the Liberal movement was a ”broad church and a big tent”.

”We can run a political party that has got room for more than just one big figure,” Mr Abbott told reporters in Bundaberg on Friday.

”As we’ve seen from the Labor Party they just can’t do that.”

Earlier this week, Mr Turnbull conceded that he was more popular than Mr Abbott with some voters, but ruled out another tilt at the Liberal leadership.

”There are a lot of people out there who would rather I was leading the Liberal Party; it is ridiculous to deny that that’s not happening,” he said.

”If they think I am a person of capability and quality and so forth, they should be comforted by the fact that I am part of that team in a senior leadership position.

”So if you are a Malcolm Turnbull fan rather than a Tony Abbott fan, you may prefer Malcolm … I was in the top job rather than Tony: I will be up the top table.”

Responding to “the poll” this morning Joe Hockey defended Mr Abbott’s leadership style.

ABBOTT’S THE MAN!

“Tony Abbott is the man, will be the man, will continue to be the man,” Mr Hockey said.

“You can have whatever polls you want but the bottom line is we don’t want to follow the path of the Labor Party which has selected Kevin Kardashian as leader.”

However Mr Hockey insists he isn’t focused on polling.

“Our view is that you need to have someone who is going to be of substance and focused on the job at hand,” he said.

“Malcolm Turnbull says that, I say that.”

The latest downbeat data for Mr Abbott follows Monday’s Nielsen poll showing the ALP’s primary support up 10 percentage points to 39 per cent compared to the coalition on 44, down three.

That poll’s two-party preferred numbers put Labor at 50 per cent, with the opposition also on 50 – the first time in three years that Labor no longer trails the coalition on that measure.

I dont doubt that Turnbull is more popular than Abbott but since the Turnbull lead over Rudd is so bloody overwhelming does this give us some insight into whether the gloss is also wearing off Rudd ?

Turnbull is Labor Lite and the Nats won’t stomach him…. unless he changes his tune.

The last minute substitution, first pioneered by the ALP with the Bob Hawke for Bill Hayden switcheroo in 1983, is now a tried and tested political manoeuvre. The Coalition needs to get with the time and put Turdbull in charge ASAP. He would do a classier job of selling their fart-bubble policies to the electorate. He would leave Rudd gasping for breath, like some strangled cat on an ex’s doorstep.

Any dog lover like him cant be too bad.

Spotted him a few months ago down at Rushcutters Bay (his electorate) strolling along until he suddenly stopped to chat to a professional dog walker and proceeded to get down to eye level with all 4 dogs and pat them.

I think for Joe Hockey to call the PM Kevin Kardashian is juvenille. When does he think about all these nasty names he uses to label Rudd? Mitt Romney’s people made the same mistake in America. Instead of building up their candidate they were obsessed with insulting Obama hence the defeat. Grow up Joe Hockey, there are a lot of names that would suit you but we are mature Labor supporters and won’t dwell on insults.

‘…we are mature Labor supporters and won’t dwell on insults.’

I know a place where immature Labor supporters hang out and its not a pretty sight.

Meanwhile, it does appear the electorate is looking for a one party state, or two identical peas in a pod.

‘All this is to say that the “popularity” numbers may reflect a deeper and more substantive truth. Median voters decide elections in two-party electoral systems. In reinstalling Rudd as prime minister, Labor has taken a step to the middle, or is perceived to have done so. Maybe the Coalition will have to think about doing the same.’

Mixed feelings about the lurch to the right, but Rudd has delivered an outcome that Gillard was incapable of.

It is another example of why Gillard’s PMship were the wasted years,

What do you think Rudd has offered the Papuans in return? Maybe he has eased visa requirements for PNG citizens to travel to Australia. The PNG government has been calling for that. There will be something.
