Team Australia Captures First Terrorist at Melbourne Airport!

August 27, 2014

A new airport-based counter-terrorism squad has intercepted a suspected terrorist.

Team Australia Captain Tony Abbott told parliament today that the government last week put new Australian Customs and Border Protection counter-terrorism units at Sydney and Melbourne international airports.

“I’m advised these new units have already intercepted at least one person of interest,” Mr Abbott said.

“This government will do everything that is necessary to keep this country safe.”

Similar units will be established at other Australian international airports.

Eventually 80 officers will be stationed at airports to monitor the movements of people on the national security watchlist.

In opposition. Prime Minister Tony Abbott used to delight in denouncing Kevin Rudd as a frequent flyer, but Mr Abbott is now set to equal his predecessor’s globetrotting record.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

It was just a matter of time. Although, as Wilkie said earlier, there might not be any option left. Labor have already made their stand.

    https://newmatilda.com/2014/08/27/abbotts-blood-water-and-news-limiteds-nowhere-be-found

while its a good post, l reckon the media angle is wrong,

Limited-News will do what it always does, defend teabags, deniers and corporate-dog-club-cranks, nothing new there,

the media problem is/will-be; my abc giving endless/equal platform to the liars and apologists-for-teabag-corruption, #drum #insiders #qandaland will all give plenty of airtime and webspace for the bullshit that will emit from the likes of hendo, berg and the rest of the ipa/limited-news trolls

Have you been to a regional airport of late ?

Erm …. what has that to do with digital spying?

(Probably been in more regional airports than you’ve had brekkies … but not many “suspects” get past international airports … and the regionals are usually staffed by “second job” locals who’ll pick up an “odd ‘un” quicker than the AFP!)

What’s has that to do with … digital spying …

You really don’t comprehend much do ya?

Abbott supporter no doubt … his level of comprehension is typical boxer mentality too …

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

my abc giving endless/equal platform to the liars and apologists-for-teabag-corruption,

But we must recognise free speech, teabag …

”””’But we must recognise free speech, teabag”””’

there is no real `free-speech` issue, there is `mostly` no need for my abc website to `mirror` limited-news and ipa posts, and qandaland doesn`t need to `mirror` boltreportland

(sure, when ipa/limited-news won`t run the post, my abc should run it)

I hope the media stick with this. I get the feeling that Team Australia will be ramped up quite considerably in order to try and train attention elsewhere.

Mr Shorten told reporters on Wednesday the Prime Minister should “never need an excuse to visit a public hospital in Australia”.

    http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/bill-shorten-says-tony-abbott-unfit-to-govern-after-entitlements-leaks-20140827-108vq5.html

Although Shorten is claiming the big story is who the leakers are, which just tells you that he is not much different imo.

The real story is, the politicians are being exposed as the biggest “leaners” of the lot.

    Some interesting comments about Qantas

So, who really clipped Qantas’ wings?

If you believe the Qantas spin machine (and believe me, it will be in frenzied overdrive) it’s everyone else’s fault, except, of course, that of Qantas.

Its excuses over the years have included an unlevel playing field, higher fuel costs, difficult unions, a high or low Australian dollar (Qantas has blamed both in recent years) to name but a few. Qantas’ excuses for abysmal performance and grand plans for a turnaround just don’t stack up.

    ….

How could Joyce spruik that line at the October 2013 AGM, that Qantas had a “clear strategy” that was “delivering results”, yet just seven weeks later, seemingly out of the blue, announce an expected loss of up to $300 million. What of the small investors who bought shares on the strength of those AGM comments, only to see a 30 per cent fall just weeks later? Did they get the same briefings as institutional investors?

But will Team Australia keep attention away from peoples pockets?

Joe Hockey has conceded the government’s planned changes to the aged pension would result in payments being about $7bn lower than they otherwise would be in 10 years, as the treasurer was the target of a parliamentary question time attack over the budget.
